Just horrendous. There was a big Jewish gathering on the beach. Jewish festival goers targeted by two gunmen. At least ten people dead according to police.

No, that's an extremist position.
A moderate position which a lot of the UK believes in goes something like this:
No to Hamas
No to settler violence/genocide/land theft/destruction of Palestinian land
No to apartheid state- that's not anti-Semitic- no-one really thinks that non Jews are treated the same in Israel (or even Jews from poorer countries- eg forced sterilisation of and attacks on Ethiopian Jews in Israel)
No to terrorism
Yes to a fair peace that gives Palestinians land and full autonomy, and elections.
No to worldwide anti-Semitism- this would be made easier by a settled, decent peace in the Middle East, which of course can't happen with either Netanyahu in power as he needs war to survive or with Hamas having any influence.

I don't think you understand the problem. Some people nail their murderous colours to the mast very clearly, but remain invisible and can continue unchecked because of the liberal West's inability or reluctance to differentiate between very different "styles" of what is referred to as "Islam." Radical Islam is acknowledged as a major terrorist threat in Europe, see link below. It is not the same as the Islamic faith more generally, see image. I can't emphasize enough how important it is for everyone to begin grasping this, not least because of the escalating threat to our Jewish community. But it doesn't end there.

Part of the problem seems to be that Western minds are just not wired up to understand religious dogma - it's a long time (thankfully) since we went out gung-ho using violent means to impose Christianity on other cultures. The UK is now a fairly secular culture where people don't tend to give a moment's thought to religious faith, much less consider it their God-given duty to kill anyone not sharing theirs. But this worldview still exists, strongly, in some sectors.

They absolutely are. There are Arab doctors, lawyers and other professionals including a judge. Almost half Israeli pharmacists are Arabs.

I used to live in Bondi. The nicest, friendliest, happiest place and the same goes for the people who live there. I’m so sad that this has happened. Bondi was truly a safe and welcoming community for everyone. Shocking, just shocking.

I'm not going to comment on the political or extremist motives - people far more erudite than me are doing that.

But I will say that my Dd and her boyfriend were there with their dogs. They are safe but shaken. She described some of the things she saw as they were running for safety which are so so upsetting. Some of her friends were not able to get away from the beach so were locked in bars/restaurants or hiding in the sea.

For everyone affected by this atrocity, I hope and wish they get support and love. It's just awful.
