This is the bumper Christmas issue with the added challenge of all the work Xmas brings and feelings it might bring up...but we're here. Highs and lows. 🌲🌲😴🤕🤗

Morning all and have especially @Realisation14 we are always here if you need a listen.

im going to have a very relaxed day, I don’t have to worry about fit notes or work. No need to leave the house. It looks icy so a good reason not to!

Oioiqueen · 14/01/2026 10:43

Had quite a few vivid dreams last night, absolutely no idea why. Also have ovulation symptoms yet I'm still waiting for my period to arrive from two weeks ago. I know the chemo can shut down your ovaries but I'm just weirded out by a sudden sex drive. I had night sweats just before my period was due, more intense than I usually have but it never came so I'm really confused at the moment 😂. The joys of being a woman!

BerfyTigot · 14/01/2026 12:34

Not well today and very fatigued. The only thing i need to do is get milk, so I'll drive to the petrol station later.

Tea just needs to be warmed through, so that's all sorted.

Hope everyone is doing ok.

Orangesandlemons77 · 14/01/2026 13:34

Hope you can rest a bit BerfyTigot I had a walk earlier for the first time in ages, it was cold but sunny. Now home with a tomato cup a soup today, it is a bit spicy.

TeaAndStrumpets · 14/01/2026 15:15

I am still shattered and sleepy since seeing the osteopath two days ago. I have slept through the night without adrenaline rushes too, so I hope it's a good sign! My hips and neck have been in such tight knots I needed some quite deep massage.
I've been trying to tidy up the clutter I surround myself with! I found a little makeup bag and stuffed my heated eyemask and all the wires into it...perfect! I have several lumbar support pillows etc which look very out of place so I bought some cotton velvet cushion covers to fit them and they look so much nicer!

FurForksSake · 14/01/2026 15:25

That sounds nice @TeaAndStrumpets. I was very close to going to bed an hour ago, but I managed to tough it out on the sofa. I’ve filled the bird feeders and that’s about it today.

I know, I'm trying to stay awake so I can have an early night and drop straight off. There have been some things this week that would normally cause me stress and I have decided to ignore them. Nothing I can change so no point letting it get to me. It's quite relaxing...some lucky people must be like this all the time!

So nice to see the birds.

BerfyTigot · 14/01/2026 16:07

I gave in and had a nap for 30 minutes.
Congratulations on your walk @Orangesandlemons77 - helps me to get put when I can.

Swanhilde · 14/01/2026 17:33

I am home from work and my week is finished. In bed now with knitting, tea and cheese 🧶☕🧀

DD is making souvlaki and Greek salad for tea 🥙

Then it's Traitors, so a later night. Legs are sore from climbing stairs but I have my massage tomorrow first thing ☺️

Have a peaceful evening all 💕

Realisation14 · 14/01/2026 22:33

Thank you all. Hope today wasn't too hard for everyone. Anyone else suffer with IBS? Mine is constipation variant and is life-ruining at the moment!

BerfyTigot · 14/01/2026 22:44

@Realisation14 you have my sympathies, yes I have IBS but the diarrhoea kind. I've given up with diets to help it and just take a lot of imodium. I found the diet so restrictive and it was driving me mad.
Also I like food 😁

FurForksSake · 14/01/2026 22:51

@Realisation14 Mounjaro has sorted my extreme ibs/d for the moment.

I have had periods of horrific constipation though. Lactulose is the cure. I have had a week or so of absolute rock and used glycerine suppositories to relieve the blockage.

I get quite a bit of bowel pain and can literally feel stools moving around when the constipation is bad. I do have diverticulitis though.

it is awful when it is so bad, I really feel for you. It’s exhausting and painful and it makes me really grumpy and frustrated, so I do sympathise.

Sometimes a heat pack helps, what have you tried?

Morning!

I qm still in bed as it’s dh wfh days and I don’t have to do the morning shift with the kids. Bliss.

Cleaner is coming today, I’m trying to find an excuse to be out while she’s here. She’s lovely but I just don’t always fancy the chat and middle class guilt.

Hydro this evening, looking forward to that, though the pool is cooler than the other one I’m at and I’m considering a rash vest!

TeaAndStrumpets · 15/01/2026 09:18

Morning all!
Good night's sleep again but just before I woke up I dreamed I was fighting for my life. Gosh I fight dirty. Anyway good to be alive and awake! HR took a while to slow down. It's never a good start to the day but since it often happens at 4 am this morning was better than most.

Oh god the dreaded IBS! I've spent many years attached to a hot water bottle. Almost anything can set it off but it is also closely tied in with CFS/ME crashes for me. So feeling exhausted stomach pain on top. I tend to get diarrhea, sometimes for weeks on end, then when it finally stops hello constipation! My worst bout came on after I took some probiotics in October and I was still getting the squits until the New Year. I am taking in extra carbs to keep my weight up, it falls too low when the food rushes through.

Re bunged up days -everyone recommends the Squatty Potty but all you need is something about 7" high to rest your feet on. I have a small hamper for storing loo rolls which is perfect.

TodayIsatrickyone · 15/01/2026 10:34

Morning all and welcome back 👋 @Realisation14

My little dog has been waking in the night this week but we both managed to sleep the whole night last night which is cause for celebration!
Still feeling shattered today but have managed a shower and am on the sofa with a coffee and will likely read or listen to my audio book. A bit of a boring day but probably needed. For some bizarre reason despite my 57 years and having read it multiple times to the kids years ago I chose to listen to a Harry Potter book and I’m actually quite enjoying it!

I do need to visit mum but I’ll see what tomorrow brings, she’s having issues with noise from the flat above her and while I do empathise, I just can’t face hearing the same long drawn out story of what day/ time/ noise she heard and how awful it all is. She seems to have become very repetitive and a bit negative lately and it can be hard work but I feel bad for even saying that as we've always been so close.

Hope everyone can have a calm day

TeaAndStrumpets · 15/01/2026 10:55

Sorry your Mum is bothered by noisy neighbours @TodayIsatrickyone and you for getting a blow by blow account! I suppose she saves it all up for your sympathetic ear. When you visit you'll have to find some sensational gossip to distract her! Actually I value silence so she has my sympathy.

Your little dog sounds a lot calmer, so fingers crossed.

TodayIsatrickyone · 15/01/2026 11:09

Yes I totally feel for her too @TeaAndStrumpets as it would drive me insane but you're right I think she saves it all to tell me forgetting she’s already told me on the phone! I was thinking if I’m up to it maybe I should try and suggest a cafe for a cuppa as being out would distract her a bit!
