This is the bumper Christmas issue with the added challenge of all the work Xmas brings and feelings it might bring up...but we're here. Highs and lows. 🌲🌲😴🤕🤗

Sitting on the sofa binge watching Shetland. Should have been going to a Christmas Party in a local residential home, managed to get as far as the car before realising that I couldn't do it. Had visitors for 5 days and that's just finished me off

theotherfossilsister · 11/12/2025 16:46

I’m currently in my room while dp looks after ds. I walked with him to forest school this morning. I’m trying to do some work on laptop but might read a bit before I go make dinner. I have RA with Lupus Factor.

Orangesandlemons77 · 11/12/2025 17:34

Hi theotherfossilsister

In bed here, had a man from the estate agents come to value the flat today. DH was saying we might need to move soonish due to the stairs. I think the man reassured him a bit saying surely you won't need to worry about that for another 20 yrs or so. (we're in a top floor flat and the last bit is a twisty steep bit)

I think DH worries because his dad had a lung condition and struggled with the stairs. Which is understandable. I mean I find them hard but I guess it's not like in a house where you go up them and down quite a lot. At least when in it is flat!

Anyway that went ok I think, I hid in the lounge and listened in, find strangers a bit exhausting.

Then the Ocado shopping came, so that was good. Still avoiding going out due to crowds in the centre with the Christmas market being on. It's over this weekend though.

Second last of the fatigue course meetings tomorrow. Hope all doing OK, thanks MEwithMe for the new thread. Flowers

Morning all, can't believe we're on thread 4 of this now. It's been a rough week for me with a bad cold and a flare up of both my fibro and IBS, the pain has been unbearable at some points. I'd like to say thank goodness it's the weekend as I usually keep the weekends free for rest but with this time of year it's just not always possible and so we unfortunately have plans on both days that are not "cancel-able". And so I continue persevering on.

TodayIsatrickyone · 12/12/2025 10:37

Morning all and thanks MEwithME for the new thread! Can’t believe it’s thread 4!
A better week here but feeling out of balance today ( as visible app likes to politely call feeling crap!) so currently on the sofa with the dog snoozing on my lap. It’s her 3 month anniversary of being adopted from the rescue charity today and though it’s definitely been a challenge, I can’t imagine not having my little shadow.

My goal for today is to dust the lounge if I pick up a little. Making myself rest first. We had new lights fitted earlier in the week and I thought DH had cleared up but still seeing bits of dust so I want to try and do it.
Otherwise resting as next week will be a busy one and I’ll need all my spoons!
Hope you can all have a restful Friday.

Perpetualstateofchaos · 12/12/2025 10:46

My plan for the day is sleep and try sort the front room for the Chistmas tree. Im recovering from an unrelated surgery I had yesterday but really want the tree up for my birthday tomorrow so going to rope the dcs in to help.
I have endo an adenomyosis which has flared up this week too.

ComfortFoodCafe · 12/12/2025 10:49

My plan was to catch up on some sleep today, then I remembered it was the stay & play at youngest son school this afternoon. 😖 Feeling rotten, caught a cold & it’s caused an all mighty flare up!

TeaAndStrumpets · 12/12/2025 12:19

Hi everyone, I'm still lingering on the previous thread but nice to see everyone!

Still wobbly after going out briefly two days ago (how dare I !!)

Sleeping better but my IBS is ramped up by the CFS/ME, I think the adrenaline affects everything. I am eating extra portions of bland food as my weight is down a fair bit.

FuzzyPuffling · 12/12/2025 16:59

Marking my spot here ( although I did just post on the last thread too!)
theotherfossilsister I have mixed CTD- bit of lupus, bit of Sjogrens, bit of APS. All of it a pain. Sympathies.

BerfyTigot · 12/12/2025 17:11

Thanks for the new thread @MewithME did you even consider when you started it, that it would become such an important part of MN to lots of us? 😁

Been feeling anxious all day so sitting in the dark in the garden listening to music. I've brought a hot water bottle out with me!

It's not calming but distracting, which is enough.

SnobblyBobbly · 12/12/2025 17:15

Did some work this morning, hospital for an ECG in the afternoon and now home @
& cosy, waiting for a take away for me and the kids while DH is on his Xmas work do 😊

ForLoveNotMoney · 12/12/2025 17:33

I am still in hospital but had all my cannulas out today so excited for a proper shower and hair wash tonight! I have new earplugs too and the noisy woman opposite is going home tonight so hopefully get some rest!

That is great news, hope it's done you good.

@BerfyTigot hope you are feeling a bit better from the fresh air.

Lovely to see new people @Songlines @theotherfossilsister @Perpetualstateofchaos @ComfortFoodCafe @SnobblyBobbly

Coming over from the last thread, we are having a chin hair discussion to fill it up.

Aw, no, not really. I always liked the gentle thread another MNetter does on a weekend about what are you up to .. but it was a bit happy sad for me. I just found i couldn't relate the the level of activity. Like having your nose pressed up against the glass, watching everyone else living.

So started one and it's been such a lovely thing to have our little corner with people who get it. You're all wonderful. Must be the nicest bit of MN!

Thanks all for being here. Flowers

Chin hair discussion, over.

Gardeners world and snow dogs have been a nice gentle evening.

I keep forgetting to watch Shetland so I’m going to binge that tomorrow.

I have started watching your Christmas or mine 2, quite enjoying it so will finish tomorrow.

my hip is very cross today.

MewithME · 12/12/2025 20:44

Sitting in the garden sounds nice ☺️ @BerfyTigot

We've just had a silly half hour changing DS's sheets. I was directing so he's done it himself...with much giggling.

He dumped all his cuddly toys on my bed, with me in it ..the his duvet...then pillows...and then he jumped on it/me 😂

Thank you for the welcome 😀

TheNameWasOnceChosen · 12/12/2025 21:13

I've had a consultant meeting today. Its in Central London so I left early to have some breakfast down there... was lovely too!

FuzzyPuffling · 12/12/2025 21:24

I'm in bed watching HIGNIFY. That's a decent evening.

Edit to say i do like GW, except when all the gardens are huge and made from a field "daddy gave me several years ago".
Hurrah for Ash the cat. He's my favourite.

Middlemarch123 · 12/12/2025 22:10

I’ve followed all these threads and would like to join if that’s okay?

I have confirmed fibro, and always find the colder months harder. Overdid it yesterday, carried heavy bags finishing off my Christmas shopping, knew I would suffer today, but underestimated how much: aching all over, voltoral, pain meds and heat pads which usually keep me functioning haven’t touched it. I would so love to function as I did ten years ago, and not have to pay the price of a normal day with a bed day after. Hugs to all of you Flowers

TeaAndStrumpets · 12/12/2025 22:16

@TheNameWasOnceChosen you have had quite a long day. Hope the consultant was useful and worth the trip.

@Middlemarch123 so glad you have jumped in!

MewithME · 12/12/2025 22:19

Nice to have you here @Middlemarch123. Hope you sleep ok and tomorrow is a bit easier.

I've got my usual weird buzzing feeling, like ants crawling inside. But so happy it's Saturday tomorrow.

I have a weird buzzy feeling too. Goes all the way from lips 💋 to toes. I've had it permanently for 7.5 years.
