How often do you clean your bathroom?

Exactly that really. Just finished cleaning the bathroom and got me wondering, how often does everyone else generally clean the bathroom?

You are a pig farmer and kill an animal there every day. Do I win?

I don't understand this

Every day I'll wash the floors, clean the toilet, wash the sink, bath, mirrors, windows etc.

Once a week I'll do a full clean where I empty and clean the cupboards, wash the walls and take the extractor fan off to clean it.

Clearly I'm losing it! I can't tell if you're being serious or taking the pee!

🤣🤬🙄🥹

HAHAHA ditto

the pink mold blooms look…cute 🫣

Ok it’s not weekly but every fortnight maybe just over, I despise doing it along with changing the bed

Edited

Change beds every Sunday without fail. Love getting into freshly made bed.

Seeing my shiny non scaly chrome plug in the sink also brings me joy.
DS doesn't even notice (swine!).

The end result of a bathroom clean is quite satisfying I have to say.

Sorry for making anyone feel inadequate/grubby with this topic by the way. Nothing to beat yourselves up about.

Full clean? Once every 6 weeks or so.

Toilet gets a quick wipe as required most days. Ditto sink. Bin emptied every couple of days.

I have better things to do.

fivebyfivefaith · 06/11/2025 23:06

Never in one go really. I live alone so do what needs doing when it looks like it needs doing
method shower spray after every shower helps a lot

TheChosenTwo · 06/11/2025 23:11

our cleaner does the bathrooms and loos once a week, we will just wipe as we go to keep it all okay.
But a full clean, I don’t do it.
Every now and then I’ll go through the cabinet and cupboards and have a sort out.

Foxyloxy89 · 06/11/2025 23:12

There are 5 of us using it so it's a busy space! I wipe the toilet and sinka few times a week plus rinsing the bath after each use but a deep clean probably only once a fortnight. Cleaning a toilet daily is insane.

AutumnCosy2025 · 06/11/2025 23:12

BringBackCatsEyes · 06/11/2025 22:51

The shower gets a full squeege after every use because we have very hard water and I am very proud of my new bathroom (I don't think that actually counts as cleaning as such, it's just removing water). The shower gets the full Viakal treatment every couple of months (glass doors and panels).
The loo maybe 3 times a week, with a removal of seat and deep clean once a week or so.
The surfaces may get a wipe after a shower when they're damp and a full clean once a week with the floors and skirting. The floor around the loo more often probably. I don't really have a schedule, it's just me and DS (16) at home. The sink gets wiped all the time, and Viakal once every couple of weeks.
I'll remove the rainforest shower head for a descale now and again.

Three life changing words for you...

no it wasn't cheap & yes the salt (blocks) are a regular expense. But no more vikal, scrubbing at limescale, having to squeegy the walls after a shower etc efc

worth every penny!!

FletchFan · 06/11/2025 23:12

My cleaners do my bathrooms every fortnight. Then again I have three bathrooms between 3 people so they don't get that bad. If anything the sinks and showers are grimey and overdue by the time my cleaners arrive , but oh well. I pay my cleaners enough, I'm not doing anything in between.

Nannyfannybanny · 06/11/2025 23:13

Good god, "toilet most days"..I clean shower, basin worktop daily before leaving the room. Windowsill mirror, dusting weekly, toilet after use for bowels, and yes I did when I worked ft with 4 kids. Clean as you go.

Kindnesscostsnothingtryit · 06/11/2025 23:17

We have 4 full bathrooms so i can't do them all each week as work full time and no cleaner plus 3 kids but every 5 days I'll clean 1 or 2.

ErmThisOne · 06/11/2025 23:18

We have to clean it?

NeverInaMillion · 06/11/2025 23:18

I don't clean our bathroom.
I'm sick of it.
It's horrible and outdated and ugly, I hate it, so I don't clean it.
1970s floor to ceiling wall tiles. A broken bath. A rusty over the bath shower. A rusty shower curtain pole. Stickleback plastered ceiling. A 1970s rusty ugly ceiling light. Really ugly window. Mottled cold blue lino on the floor. Black mildew on the wooden bath panel. Mold spores all over the wall. A cheap nasty hollow plywood door that is warped at the bottom and all the paint is peeling off.
I also hate how frequently it needed cleaning, and how rapidly it got in a state after I'd spent ages cleaning it.
Terrible problem with thick limescale in the toilet bowl. Cannot get rid of it. It is like concrete. Bought 100 limescale removers and none of them work. The poo gets caught on the thick limescale so it has turned brown in colour. No amount of scrubbing removes it. And if I were to use an abrasive scouring pad to try and clean the limescale, it would scratch the porcelain toilet bowl.
So now I don't clean it. None of it. Not the disgusting toilet. Not the ugly tiles. Not the black mildew. Not the atrocious floor lino.
I go in, use the loo or have a mega fast shower, and get out of there asap.
I've noticed that since I've stopped cleaning it, DH hasn't bothered to clean it either. He just keeps moaning about it. This makes me even more think I'm not cleaning it. If he can't be bothered to keep it clean then why should I. And it's getting filthier by the day. I haven't cleaned it for over 4 months so far.

FrogsWormsandButterflies · 06/11/2025 23:19

Everyday. Bleach down the toilet and wipe the seat and lid.
Wioe the sink over with bleach.
squeege th fooor and mop it. Spray the tiles and scrub with a hard brush.

Silverbirchleaf · 06/11/2025 23:21

Weekly clean everything, although sinks may get wiped down inbetween.

Cupboards, less often.

Waitingfordoggo · 06/11/2025 23:21

Sink and loo two or three times a week- just a quick spray and wipe. Then a thorough clean once a week.

Franpie · 06/11/2025 23:23

Cleaner cleans the whole house top to bottom including bathrooms for a whole day once a week. I just run a vacuum around and wipe down surfaces every day. Bleach the loo in teen DS bathroom most days 🤮.

Every time we go on holiday cleaner comes in for 2 days to do a deep clean of everywhere (inside cupboards, oven etc).

Even when I was made redundant I kept my cleaner. She’s more important to my sanity and quality of life than my DH! (Only half joking)

CluelessAboutBiology · 06/11/2025 23:29

@AutumnCosy2025strange question, but do you live in Surrey by any chance?

Frenchtoastie · 06/11/2025 23:37

How long does it take everyone to clean their bathroom? (Mainly aimed at those that say “full clean x1 weekly)

I am amazed at the cleanliness on this thread

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 06/11/2025 23:40

I do Tuesday and Friday a quick clean of sink/toilet/bin with Method spray and bleach. On a Sunday I do those again, bath, shower door thing, windowsill, mirror, plus wash/change out towels and bath mat. DP does mopping the floors, usually also a Sunday.

Things like the cabinet are done on high days and holidays.

I actually had a plumber booked to instal a softener (as well as change the boiler and radiators) this August, but then I got made redundant😢so it got relegated to non-essential spending.
Until things are more secure it's Viakal and elbow grease for me.
