Exactly that really. Just finished cleaning the bathroom and got me wondering, how often does everyone else generally clean the bathroom?

Well I've just spent the last couple of days putting cat litter trays, the oven door glass and the kitchen bins through the dishwasher. I might do the toilet seat next.

<joke>, I would but I don't know how to remove it Grin

When I've finished, I will be rinsing the filter and running the dishwasher care cycle with cleaning liquid.

You've put cat litter trays through the dishwasher? That's a whole other level of grim 🤢

Once a week. How anyone has the time or energy to do more I don’t understand but respect to you!

HostaCentral · 07/11/2025 22:55

Once a week for everything. They don't get dirty. Toilets are designed to flush things away, and I'm not licking the bowl, and wash my hands after using, so all is well. Basins and baths and showers are also cleaned by the running water going down the plug holes.

All this constant bleaching and cleaning fluid is horrendous.

itbemay1 · 07/11/2025 22:58

Toilet and sink wipe daily. Full clean weekly

SouthernNights59 · 07/11/2025 23:01

When I can be bothered! (I live alone). Certainly not nearly as much as some posters on here.

WhitegreeNcandle · 07/11/2025 23:07

Once a week.

quick wipe of sinks during the week if particularly toothpastey or manky.

Bleach in the loo every couple of days or as needed. Good clean, once a week

Ditto

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 12/11/2025 16:31

Whenever I start thinking it’s about time I did it. Which is less than once a week.

DilemmaDelilah · 12/11/2025 19:40

My cleaner does the bathrooms properly once a fortnight. I clean the toilets and basins 2 or 3 times a week, or more often if needed.

Brendathebear · 13/11/2025 04:36

We have loads of bathrooms, 4 full bathrooms and 1 downstairs loo. I also have 3 teenagers (plus me and dh) so everything gets a lot of use.

I dont mind cleaning but work full time in a busy job. I quite like a Saturday morning, I get up early, put on leggings and trainers and earbuds in with fast music. I clean the house from top to bottom in about 5 hours.

I dont have time to do anything inbetween. Dc/dh obviously do top ups.

Not goady, but do you work full time?

Just for interest sake what is your schedule for cleaning the rest of the house?

blackheartsgirl · 12/01/2026 00:59

Once a week although the toilet nearly every day and it gets a tidy every day too. I live with 2 messy teens who seem to have the entire stock of Boots in there not to mention bloody towels and clothes dumped on the washing bin

🤣🤣 yep, that's how I'm now feeling. V inadequate

Really?

It just makes me feel grateful that:
a) I don't care that much,
b) I don't live with filthy people, as these levels of cleaning would be horrific overkill in my house,
c) I have about a million things higher on my priority list, which I find more fulfilling and enjoyable, and
d) I don't even think I'm that eco conscious, but FFS the levels of chemical pollution in the waste water and airborne volatile chemicals in your house that you're creating from this much cleaning! Ugh.

I clean it when I think it needs it. And I have a perfectly clean house that I'm happy to receive guests and family in at all times, so no, it's not dirty but neither am I obsessive.

Oricolt · 12/01/2026 01:33

I feel as though I am forever cleaning it and it's never bloody clean. I especially object to how often I need to scrub the sodding shower cubical.
