It was lovely out and quite pretty with the falling leaves. Yes a chilly one here too and I was very wrapped up!
Sorry you couldn’t sleep last night. Do you use a hearted blanket/ throw at all? I sometimes pop mine on if I wake up chilly.

Actually I do have a heated throw, I could have that just on my side of the bed. DH never feels the cold! Good tip, thank you. We do have a heated underblanket but that gets switched off when we go to bed. Something just for me sounds good!

Stressybetty · 03/12/2025 17:00

@TeaAndStrumpets you can get electric blankets for the bed with dual controls so just your side can be warm. I always switch mine off when I go to sleep though as I'm scared of it catching fire!

VikingNorthUtsire · 03/12/2025 17:16

Thanks everyone for the kind words yesterday. Still quite wobbly today but I took the day off work which is quite unusual for me (being PT anyway for health reasons).

Managed to wrangle the GP appointment system to get a phone call booked for a fortnight's time to discuss my recent blood tests. Our surgery are usually quite good but I can't face seeing a different GP and having to go back over everything AGAIN - and the nice one I saw last is currently on holiday hence the wait.

Good luck @Tarkan with the HRT. My GP prescribed oestrogel for me as I am allergic to plasters.

Walk sounds lovely @TodayIsatrickyone 🍁🍂

Yes it's a scary thought! I think my heated throw has a timer so that might feel safer.

TeaAndStrumpets · 03/12/2025 17:24

@VikingNorthUtsire good idea to have a day off, sounds like exactly the right thing to do.

Swanhilde · 03/12/2025 17:46

I am home and my working week is done. I have now showered and packed a bag as we are off for a weekend in the Lakes tomorrow 🍂🍁🍂🍁

DH has cooked a yummy cottage pie for tea so I will eat that and then have an early night ready for travelling in the morning ☺️

Have a peaceful evening all 💕

TeaAndStrumpets · 03/12/2025 17:51

Oh how lovely @Swanhilde have a great time!

FuzzyPuffling · 03/12/2025 18:47

I did some pruning in the garden, swept up a few leaves and did a supermarket shop. Seeing a bit of sunshine is always cheering.

MewithME · 03/12/2025 19:25

I have had an awful day at work. Just way too much. I was shaking when I got in and just burst into tears. I need a serious think about the future because this job is taking too much. 😭

OP posts:
FurForksSake · 03/12/2025 19:29

@MewithME I’m not sure what you do, but it does seem like it’s taking more from you than it’s giving. Take gentle care.

FuzzyPuffling · 03/12/2025 21:00

MewithME that sounds awful. I'm so sorry you've had that sort of day, and hope it's not a regular occurrence.

As Fur says, please look after yourself and review if that job is good for you.

I hope you sleep well.tonight. x

Stressybetty · 03/12/2025 21:48

@MewithME hope you're ok. xx

Orangesandlemons77 · 03/12/2025 21:58

I was just going to ask how your week was going MEwithME sorry to hear that today has been terrible. I hope tomorrow might be better. x

Tarkan · 03/12/2025 22:12

I’m sorry to hear that @MewithME

Gentle hugs and Flowers for you.

TodayIsatrickyone · 03/12/2025 22:57

Oh I’m so sorry it’s been a tricky day @MewithME Sending hugs and hopes that tomorrow is an easier one for you.

Realisation14 · 04/12/2025 02:24

@MewithME I hope you're okay, sending love.

Awake at this time, I'm fed up. I've got a bit of a tooth ache, a scratchy throat (ds has had a cold all week), pulled a muscle in my chest, and tomorrow is my sister anniversary of passing and I just ARGHHHH!!

So sorry. I have spent a lot of time reliving my childhood after losing my two older brothers last year. It brings back memories of everyone else who has gone, friends as well as family. It's always the middle of the night in my experience.
Hope you have a restful day. Xx

TeaAndStrumpets · 04/12/2025 07:33

@MewithME you sound so down. Is this your dream job? Is it worth looking around for another one? How much of your illness is caused by your job, as in constant stress?

I imaging your mental energy is pretty well zero at the moment, but I hope you can think about making an exit plan. There are other jobs.xx

TeaAndStrumpets · 04/12/2025 09:35

I bought an electric heated eye mask which is amazing and hope it will calm my puffy lids. The only downside is it fits too close to my eyeballs because of the shape, and it feels weird. So I have now purchased a mask to wear under the first mask which has sort of foam doughnuts round the eyesockets. I reckon if I crank up the electric one to scorching it will still do the trick!

DH thinks I've lost my wits. He's been recommending hot flannels but they get cool and soggy! So last century.

Happy report from DD2 who has skipped back to work after maternity leave. Baby granddaughter is now having a fine old time at nursery, and is enjoying the food and entertainment. A few tears at drop off but then eager to join in. I'm so pleased, I was feeling sad for her!

More cards to do today. I'm doing a few at a time so as not to get a stiff neck.

Hope everyone has a peaceful day.

TodayIsatrickyone · 04/12/2025 10:44

@Realisation14 That sounds like a tough night. Be kind to yourself today on a difficult day.

@TeaAndStrumpets good news about your little granddaughter settling well at nursery. Always much harder for the adults I think!

Tired today which I think is due to waking early. Though I was congratulating myself last night on managing to visit mum without much PEM yesterday but I maybe celebrated too soon!
I’d just got back to sleep this morning as free tossing and turning for an age when the alarm went off for school get up. Went back to bed after letting out the dog but couldn’t sleep then. So a quiet day here, a couple of little admin tasks to do that I keep putting off.

FuzzyPuffling · 04/12/2025 10:49

Tea I have a bit of blepharitis and keep it at bay by putting my coffee cup against my eyes, after I've finished drinking!
Basic, but takes no effort!

I also use Morrisons own brand baby wash on my eyelids twice a day.

TeaAndStrumpets · 04/12/2025 10:49

@TodayIsatrickyone I also celebrate too soon! I suppose hope springs eternal.... Yes you need to take it a bit easy or the PEM monster will grab you!

FuzzyPuffling · 04/12/2025 10:51

DH and I are going into town today to look at the Christmas market. And maybe buy tea from M&S!

I hope everyone has the day they would choose for themselves.

TeaAndStrumpets · 04/12/2025 11:02

Sounds lovely @FuzzyPuffling ! Enjoy your browsing.

Stressybetty · 04/12/2025 11:15

Morning, have a lovely day everyone. MIL up all night restless and finally dropped off around 7am so am not functioning well today! She and DH are sleeping peacefully now while I'm working from home. Going to be a long day! More washing to do later. Managed the monthly Lidl shop and to get my crown fitted on Tues. Hue lights are up on the Juliet balcony's outside and we now have a poinsettia inside, that's the full extent of our decorations! Might send a few cards if I can find last year's leftover ones.
