Back from work and in bed with a cuppa ☕ Woke up shattered this morning and am still shattered now - yes, I know I overdid it at the weekend 😴

So it will be a quiet evening here. Omelette for tea and some telly before an early night.

Have a peaceful one 💕

Omelette sounds good. Nice and easy and tasty! Have a nice evening

I feel so awful today. Stupidly tried to do back-to-back Christmassy social things and have completely broken myself. Physical crash = complete mood crash so currently lying in bed feeling very sad about everything. I know it will pass. Just wanted to say it somewhere where I know people will understand - don't need any replies tbh, just can't really tell anyone irl just how hard this is sometimes.

FurForksSake · 02/12/2025 10:05

@VikingNorthUtsire I’m sorry, it’s utter rubbish.

TodayIsatrickyone · 02/12/2025 12:14

We understand @VikingNorthUtsire its incredibly tough when those crashes hit and can just feel so unfair.
Hope things settle soon x

FuzzyPuffling · 02/12/2025 12:26

Sending love to VikingNorthUtsire . I hope it passes over soon.

I've made cheesy leek blobs for tea, hoovered one room and am gathering strength for choir practice tonight. On the sofa with a warm cat.

TeaAndStrumpets · 02/12/2025 12:50

@VikingNorthUtsire hope you feel better soon. Xx

TodayIsatrickyone · 02/12/2025 14:44

@FuzzyPuffling cheesy leek blobs sound interesting! I made a shepherds pie yesterday 👏 Well I put it together tbf, DH peeled, chopped and mashed so it was a team effort but given I haven’t cooked for an age, it felt good. And I’m having leftovers tonight so that’s always a bonus!

TeaAndStrumpets · 02/12/2025 15:04

Well today my keyboard has been a blur, ordering extra socks and books for Christmas. I think that's it now. I've got some nice joggers for DGS2 from M & S. We live near a Food Hall so can click and collect. Not going near the city centre till January now!

I got my massage ball and have been rolling it against my hips/bum to loosen the tight spots . Time will tell!

Really trying to take it easy re wrapping etc.

Swanhilde · 02/12/2025 15:44

I am home early from work 🥳 I have an online training session so I've come home to do it in the comfort of my warm bed with a large mug of tea ☺️

Not a bad day actually. Had some wild and vivid dreams last night but strangely felt better this morning. Sore legs are easing off too 👍

DH is cooking tonight, so it'll be another quiet one. Hope you've all had a good days too 💕

Orangesandlemons77 · 02/12/2025 15:47

Pottering at home today trying to pace etc still getting used to it. It looks grim out so texted DH to pick up milk on the way home.

Feeling a bit less guilty about doing stuff like that. Maybe this course is helping me a bit.

Glad it's warmer. That cold snap was a bit much.

I'm cutting down MIL to one day a week. She's not been that kind recently with comments etc. it's a break as she does seem to bring me down. Just need to stick to it now.

Had a meds review with a pharmacist at the GP surgery. She seemed nice and didn't try to take me off the pain meds which is good 👍

Swanhilde · 02/12/2025 15:52

Ah, asking for help is one of my biggest obstacles @Orangesandlemons77

So used to being fiercely independent, it's taken some getting used to. And DH still has to sometimes say 'why didn't you ask me?' when I've overstretched myself.

Argh 😤

FuzzyPuffling · 02/12/2025 17:04

Cheesy leek blobs for those interested. (Bear in mind I hate cooking)

Make mashed potato
Fry chopped onion and leek
Grate cheese.

Mix it all together with an egg.

Spoon fist sized blobs on baking tray.
Excavate a hole in the top of each one and hide a cube of cheddar in it.

Bung half a cherry tomato on the top (aka Cheesy Tits)

Oven for 20 ish mins.

Eat with some green veg!

TodayIsatrickyone · 02/12/2025 17:21

lol at cheesy tits @FuzzyPuffling that’s made me chuckle. I have a mostly vegetarian incredibly fussy teen re food who I think would actually eat those! We make a similar potato cake/ fritter type thing sometimes.

FurForksSake · 02/12/2025 17:26

I want a blob!

I did some painting and now I’m collapsed on the sofa. Ah good times.

Lovely, lovely paintings Fur. I especially love the texture of the cow's hair.

TeaAndStrumpets · 02/12/2025 19:37

@FurForksSake agree they are lovely!

Tarkan · 03/12/2025 01:35

So I went to the doctor this morning (finally) about my peri-menopause issues. The brain fog from fibro was one thing but peri has just made it ridiculous. I left the house in my slippers yesterday then I forgot my coat when I was heading home from the theatre I help at today when it’s freezing outside. I’ve left doors unlocked and lights on when I thought I had closed everything and I’ve honestly felt like I’ve been going insane (this isn’t even the half of what it’s been like for me).

Well long story short, as well as my meds for my SVT and fibro, I’m now on tranexamic acid and have a 3 month supply of HRT patches to see how I get on with that. I’ve also been referred for blood tests (will be about the fourth or fifth time for them this year with my various issues and other health scares) and an ultrasound to check for fibroids or other issues just to be sure.

I had an allergic reaction to the pads for the heart monitor and the cuff for the blood pressure monitor I had earlier this year so I’m just hoping I don’t end up with a reaction to the patches.

Also had my flu jag last week and right now I’m fighting some sort of bug off. We have loads of people ill at the theatre so I think it’s someone there rather than it being a side effect from the jag unfortunately.

TeaAndStrumpets · 03/12/2025 08:43

So sorry @Tarkan you are really going through the mill at the moment. I hope you get some answers.

It sounds as if you are very anaemic? I staggered through my 40s in a fog before my anaemia got dangerously severe. It was caused by fibroids so well worth having it investigated. I think the anaemia contributed to my developing lots of allergies, and kicked off my CFS/ME. I eventually had a hysterectomy and 5 years of HRT. The HRT was supposed to protect my bones but didn't work for that, and the patches were very irritating. Maybe they have some hypoallergenic ones now. Yes I reacted to the pads on the ECG machine the other month, I am the princess and the pea!

Best of luck.

Orangesandlemons77 · 03/12/2025 12:07

Maybe oestrogel would be better than the patches if they are irritating? I swapped to it and find it better. You just apply it to your arms daily.

Not got out of bed yet here, except to get some coffee! Have a shopping delivery soon. Hope for a calm day for all

TeaAndStrumpets · 03/12/2025 12:35

I'm knee deep in Christmas cards at the moment. I know it's the season of good will and all that but I just want them out of the house now! I spend ages matching up card to recipient, maybe it would be better to get some all the same. DH's parents used to have theirs printed every year which I always thought was a bit pretentious!

Enjoy your snuggly day @Orangesandlemons77 !

Tarkan · 03/12/2025 13:25

I’ve been ok with my first patch so far so fingers crossed they stay fine for me. My psoriasis has been out of control on my lower half so I might have fun finding where to put them if it gets any worse but so far I have a couple of clear areas at least. 🙈

TodayIsatrickyone · 03/12/2025 14:46

Fingers crossed for the patches @Tarkan Im also trying them and stuck on my first patch yesterday. No issues yet. I have done 3 years on the gel & progesterone tablet but surgery recently switched to a different brand which caused side effects for me so GP suggested a 3 month trial of the patch instead.

Ive managed a quick trip to see mum this morning and braved taking the little rescue dog as we have to get her used to other people. She was less terrified in the car today and relatively okay at mums although mostly because she was occupied by treats!
We had a quick walk in the woods that back on to mums flat so that was a nice change.

TeaAndStrumpets · 03/12/2025 14:58

@TodayIsatrickyone you chose a good day for your walk. It is rather nice to see the sun again. It is quite nippy though. Last night I was so cold I couldn't sleep, so got up and made a hot water bottle. Our bedroom has two large windows, single glazed, so it's very chilly even with the central heating on.

TodayIsatrickyone · 03/12/2025 15:29

It was lovely out and quite pretty with the falling leaves. Yes a chilly one here too and I was very wrapped up!
Sorry you couldn’t sleep last night. Do you use a hearted blanket/ throw at all? I sometimes pop mine on if I wake up chilly.
