I really need to sleep tonight, Dr gave me codeine to try but I’ve never taken it. Do you think it will help me sleep?

MewithME · 18/11/2025 18:20

Loving Arsey and Snarky. Very good indeed 😁

So the good news is my heart and knees look ok. So the pain and palpitations are JUST the MEcfs then!

She said I could go to physio but I can't cope with it just now.

I've struggled with the stairs loads lately.

My tummy is all wrong still. I have stomach pain and headache and felt nauseous today. It's like IBS.

I've got to go make DS dinner. I can't bear it. I just don't want to be near food. I want to stay in bed and cry again.

OP posts:
FurForksSake · 18/11/2025 18:26

Ah ((((Me)))) that sounds really tough. I started being sick this afternoon, so I sympathise with tummies and food.

Is there a toast and eggs dinner you can manage? X

Nah, it's polyester. But made for a Rugby no 8.

She's just let me know she's been given a second one, equally badly fitting!!

I'm imagining a special clerical cloth! Polyester sounds good for washing.

The nuns at my school had habits made of some heavy black fabric, and their underwear was like Victorian bloomers, very sturdy. My fellow pupils and I used to laugh at them all hanging on the line.

Realisation14 · 18/11/2025 18:49

Thank you everyone for the anniversary wishes! I've spent the day in pain and dreading the bowling but we've booked/paid/son is looking forward to it. Also feeling stressed because the washing machine decided to have a shit attack today 🙄

TeaAndStrumpets · 18/11/2025 18:57

So sorry @MewithME The IBS for me is always a symptom of crashing...it's like my body is inflamed top to toe. All I can recommend is a hot water bottle and very very bland food. I have Chinese rice soup every day for elevenses, it is supposed to be good for IBS and it is basically pure starch so instant absorption.
Another thing I have realised is I have a very tight pelvic floor so trying to relax that is beneficial when everything is tightly wound. My physio recommended belly breathing for that so maybe would relax the cramps a bit? Just some ideas.

You sound absolutely on your last nerve so I hope you feel a bit brighter tomorrow.

FuzzyPuffling · 18/11/2025 18:58

Sending love and healing to all those feeling in need tonight.

Gilead · 18/11/2025 19:54

I’ve had a super day today, Afternoon tea at a posh (ish) hotel with friends. Access was dreadful, accessible loo not accessible but food and service and company was great!

That sounds fab! Glad you had a lovely day!

Gilead · 18/11/2025 20:58

It was really lovely to be out and with good friends. I’m already paying for it but I don’t care!

Sleepy and Foggy spring to mind but I’m loving Tea’s suggestion of Arsey too 😊

Bloody dreadful day here following a sleepless night worrying about teen DD who has had some health issues lately and heard Dr wants to refer her to hospital for more rests which sent me spiralling with anxiety yesterday.
I feel like everything is hitting us at once just now and my health has not been stable since the summer. I think I’m getting there, then something else sets me back. PIP reduced my rate despite no changes and I don’t have the energy to fight it. So all feeling too much today. Got out of bed for an hour at lunchtime and heart rate rocketed and I felt dreadful so back upstairs where I’ve stayed.

I had the same with PIP also they renewed my previous 6 yr award for 18 months (they did add a year on but still they start to all a year early anyway) thinking I will improve but the conditions are long term. Couldn't face challenging it either so just left it for when it comes up again.

So I empathise. Hope things improve, sounds difficult Flowers

TeaAndStrumpets · 19/11/2025 07:48

Morning all!

I overdid it a bit yesterday and had a bad night with racing heart. Woke up after a horrible nightmare about being chased by an attacker...so glad to be up and awake.

It's my birthday today. I don't feel old at all but my body begs to differ!

It's a busy day for DH who has to get the house viewer-ready for tomorrow. Everywhere is hoovered and/or mopped. Just need a good tidy up really. We will then spend days finding things we've hidden ;-)

Orangesandlemons77 · 19/11/2025 07:51

Happy Birthday TeaAndStrumpets and hope the day is more relaxing than the night

TeaAndStrumpets · 19/11/2025 12:28

Thanks @Gilead !

TeaAndStrumpets · 19/11/2025 14:33

I felt so sorry for DH and his bad back that I've bought him a robot mop. Second hand on eBay so not a huge extravagance!

I read dozens of books on Kindle unlimited and some are good, some not. I can't be bothered to leave reviews as I know many are self published.
This week I had two stinkers in a row so I have given them some constructive criticism. One I was convinced was AI generated, the other was just really depressing. I quite liked the bit early on when our heroine (a Victorian widow) went to have her palm read and the fortune teller recoiled in horror and gave her back her money !! I gave up shortly afterwards as her straits became more and more dire...

I think this is the sort of guilt and misery Jane Austen refused to dwell on!

FuzzyPuffling · 19/11/2025 15:16

I went out for a coffee with a womens social group. It was nice, but I came home and had a nap!

TeaAndStrumpets · 19/11/2025 16:21

@FuzzyPuffling It is so tiring talking to people!
