I’ve been looking at private options today to have the tilt test - yes my BP drops and heart rate goes up too and it feels like I’m not getting enough blood supply to my head etc

I’ve actually been out today for first time in 10 days - I had a pottery workshop booked where I knew I’d be sat down but I am absolutely exhausted , met my best friend there and she said my lips were blue when I came in but did settle down and she did any fetching and carrying for me bless her

I’ve got home and husband asked if I am going back to work tomorrow which I said no I’ve asked for a fit note and he’s made it clear he thinks I should look to leave permanently which has surprised me but made me feel more reassured about that as an option. The comments about work depleting me to the extent my health may never recover have really hit home , I’ve been so blinkered about getting to 55 I’ve sacrificed me and not prioritised the right things.

Is great that your husband is supportive.

Definitely try and find a private consultant. I have just found out today that they are going to add another medication to help hypotension so it should help my health even more. I wish I hadn't suffered for so long though. I'm considering going private because even though I'm in the system the ability to consult with the cardiologist is awful.

FurForksSake · 17/11/2025 18:16

I have just managed three minutes on the exercise bike and a shower. I feel like I’ve climbed Everest.

I am now back on the sofa in my giant pink dressing gown. It haz a zip don’t you know.

I’m going to look up the self heating blanket.

Tiredandwired2 · 17/11/2025 18:17

Hope everyone's ok. Been freezing here today too. I love my heated blanket & my under bed heated blanket. I have also bought some heated hand warmers which I used for the first time today.

Been to the doctors this morning with DD. Then I have been home and god knows what I have actually done but the time has flown by. Looks of little adminy things and browsing. Pizza and chips for tea.

Then plan to relax. I did a Suzy bolt yoga nidra class on YouTube yesterday and it was so relaxing. Slept awfully but I don't think the two are related. I think I'm going through a big grief over my marriage. My theory is I was too unwell and stressed with other life things before. It's so so draining.

New to the thread - how did I not find 'my people' before now?

I've just got home from work (I work 4 hours a day), and was heading to bed, but then realised I forgot to call in at the pharmacy for my prescription on my way home. Can anyone spare some spoons for the extra trip?

Welcome to the thread!! I hope you managed okay getting back out to the pharmacy.

I LOVE yoga nidra on YouTube, it's the best, I don't find the time often enough to do them, should really make it more of a priority.

Morning all, today is my 14th wedding anniversary. DH is working today, we've got steaks in the fridge for a nice dinner tonight and then afterwards we're going bowling with our son. I tend to just throw the light children's balls and always lose lol.

Orangesandlemons77 · 18/11/2025 08:48

Quite a bit of pain this morning but enjoying catching up on the thread, a good distraction.

Went in for the monitoring ECG and blood tests yesterday, managed not to sleep through the appt this time! Made a silly mistake with the weighing machine in the waiting room, kept my backpack on then was flummoxed why my weight was so high- had to go and get another token from the receptionist and explain which was a bit embarrassing. Find the doctors a bit stressful.

Had a text later from the GP to say the ECH was normal which I appreciated as I know how busy they are to be telling people normal results, anyway on the antidepressants I have been on fluoxetine on and off since the 1990s and think it helps a bit. Also on HRT

Did ask them about duloxetine in the past (think that is one of the ones helps with pain) but they were not keen for me to swap for some reason. Another one which can help with pain is low dose amitryptilline but I stopped that as well can't remember why. Seem to have tried so many things.

Not much on here today except might try and make a butternut squash curry to use up a squash I have, might be warming as well in these cold times.

Hope you all have a good day with some time to rest if needed.

TeaAndStrumpets · 18/11/2025 10:08

Happy Anniversary @Realisation14 Hope you have a lovely day!

Still resting today, managed to get dressed in stages. I am really getting stiff with my legs up on the sofa. It is rock hard though. It had feather seat cushions originally which need constant plumping so we had them replaced with a medium density foam. For me it is bum numbing. Everyone else is fine with it, I'm just the Princess and the Pea!

Hope you all have a nice day and are sitting comfortably!

VikingNorthUtsire · 18/11/2025 14:52

Welcome @WWLD and happy anniversary @Realisation14

I have had second round of blood tests today - GP says if there's nothing there to explain my symptoms she will refer me to the Fatigue Clinic.

The sensible thing would have been to come home afterwards but instead I decided to run a couple of errands. Silly mistake. However. I did get a brilliant looking jigsaw from a charity shop which I am really looking forward to starting. Rock and roll hey.

FurForksSake · 18/11/2025 14:58

Happy Anniversary @Realisation14

I’ve been listening to the calm Christmas podcast. It’s lovely. It is really nice and divided into different segments. I fell asleep when I tried to listen to it before. I’m sure someone here recommended it?

FuzzyPuffling · 18/11/2025 15:32

I love a jigsaw puzzle. Got to be 1000 pieces for me.

Tiredandwired2 · 18/11/2025 15:33

Happy anniversary @Realisation14. That sounds like a lovely day.

@FurForksSake the christmas podcast sounds good. I will have a look.

My day has included a short dog walk, frustrating call with the cardiologist secretary. Not her fault but so annoyed that the cardiologist can't advise on medication tweaks after prescribing it. Looks like private may be the way forward.

Trip to beauty salon for 48 patch test. Booked myself in for eyebrows on Thursday for the first time in 6 years. Then a small Tesco stop for food. Prepped dinner this afternoon and done some online orders.

Writing that makes me realise how much better I am doing. I am feeling the internal vibrations today and leg pain so need to slow down but it's been a good day paced day with rest included.

Sorry for those struggling 💐

MewithME · 18/11/2025 16:07

Currently sat in doctor's waiting room, next to a coughing child, all to get my X ray and ECG results because nobody bothers to tell you otherwise.

(Still feeling crappy and grumpy... If there's another five of us we'd make some good dwarves!

Aww @@MewithME I hope you aren’t in there long! Do they have the nhs app where you are?

im tired and sore and my brain isn’t firing properly. I’m feeling a bit sad and crap. Tomorrow I’m going to make a list of little jobs I can do and be at least a tiny bit productive. I’ve been surgically attached to my phone and the tv and it’s not good for me.

@FurForksSake make sure they are VERY little! Prioritise your test.

But yes, even tiny jobs are satisfying when you can tick them off and feel that you've achieved something.

I've worked on DD's cassock a bit, but now I need her for a fitting. It weighs a ton!

Can I be Arsey? I never am, so it would be a lovely change!

FurForksSake · 18/11/2025 16:37

@VikingNorthUtsire thank you, I’m cuddled up under my new very expensive (£100!!) wool blanket and long will that continue. Definitely thinking tiny, I’ve got some Ocado star reviews to write and some meal planning for Christmas. I’m also going to write a list of the deckuttering I need to do.

That must be some excellent fabric! Still, it will keep the cold out. Good old mum.

Yes this is true! I am doing tiny bits of Christmas shopping, and DGS3 is 12 in December. What I find tiring is the mental gymnastics to make sure I give fairly equal birthday cash/presents to 12 year old as he is keenly aware of what 16 year old DGS2 received last month. Then there's Christmas....luckily oldest boy is now 23 so likes a bank transfer!
Colditz was a big hit last Christmas.

Swanhilde · 18/11/2025 17:00

Home from work and absolutely knackered 😴

Watch tells me I'm not sleeping well - combination of DD being a noisy night owl and eating too much cake ie. sugar I think. DD is now back at uni and I've told DH to finish the cake 🤞 to a better night tonight.

Anyway I'm home now with a cuppa. Had to walk up some stairs today when I accidentally went down a fire exit and couldn't get out any other way! Still getting lost after all this time - putting it down to fatigue/brain fog.

DH is cooking so a quiet and relaxing evening here.

TeaAndStrumpets · 18/11/2025 17:04

@FurForksSake if I had to write a list of decluttering to be done it would take me months! We have lived here 40 years and have a LOT of stuff. We did a bit prior to having our house ready for sale, but it's not very minimalist. Also, we have a storage unit, so a lot has gone there to be thought about 'later'. DH will try to save every little thing.

TodayIsatrickyone · 18/11/2025 17:23

Sleepy and Foggy spring to mind but I’m loving Tea’s suggestion of Arsey too 😊

Bloody dreadful day here following a sleepless night worrying about teen DD who has had some health issues lately and heard Dr wants to refer her to hospital for more rests which sent me spiralling with anxiety yesterday.
I feel like everything is hitting us at once just now and my health has not been stable since the summer. I think I’m getting there, then something else sets me back. PIP reduced my rate despite no changes and I don’t have the energy to fight it. So all feeling too much today. Got out of bed for an hour at lunchtime and heart rate rocketed and I felt dreadful so back upstairs where I’ve stayed.

Nah, it's polyester. But made for a Rugby no 8.

She's just let me know she's been given a second one, equally badly fitting!!
