The racists are already at it. Many posters have suggested it’s most likely typical football related nonsense, I’m inclined to believe them.

give your head a wobble

Tauranga · 01/11/2025 23:24

SoEasyToFall · 01/11/2025 23:18

all it takes is one idiot with a knife to escalate.

sorry I haven’t jumped to the same racist conclusions as the rest of you though

Maybe they are not the idiots?

cottonwoolie · 01/11/2025 23:24

Football fans don't go around carrying knives, stabbing innocent people.

Except for Newcastle ones apparently!

SoEasyToFall · 01/11/2025 23:24

blackwhitepink · 01/11/2025 23:23

The train was travelling from Doncaster to London. It had been nowhere near Newcastle.

As per previous posters there are no direct trains from Newcastle to London

like I said, it was just my first thought. I’m surprised at how many people on here are trying to make this into some sort of race thing though, when nothing is confirmed.

youalright · 01/11/2025 23:24

SoEasyToFall · 01/11/2025 23:21

I’ve looked on social media (hardly reliable source) and it’s one interview with a supposed witness that is being spread by the usual suspects.

this reminds me a lot of the incident at the Liverpool parade in the summer. Lots of people jumping to conclusions.

Its videos of people there you can see everything its not one person's comments. Believe me don't believe me you will soon find out

One suggested it and the rest of us know that it’s highly unlikely. It will be terrorism.

PlaceIntheClouds · 01/11/2025 23:24

SoEasyToFall · 01/11/2025 23:06

Newcastle are away to West Ham tomorrow. My first thought was that it could possibly be football related.

Oh behave.

Staringintothevoid616 · 01/11/2025 23:25

SoEasyToFall · 01/11/2025 23:22

I’m the one who said that that was my first thought and now I’m being jumped on.

the train was apparently travelling south and to be honest it’s just the type of thing I can imagine happening. Especially after Halloween weekend and people potentially being on a two day bender.

What on earth has Halloween weekend got to do with anything?

Lunalara · 01/11/2025 23:25

This terror attacks has made me terrified for what’s coming next. Both in terms of how we respond to it and if we are getting more incidents of a similar nature as they are proved effective.

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 01/11/2025 23:25

DS lives a few minutes from Huntingdon Station and said that a huge number of police cars and ambulances went past him earlier tonight. It feels very close to home.

There's a lot of unfounded speculation at the moment going on which isn't helpful. We don't know the motives, we don't know the perpetrators. Let's hope that the injuries aren't life changing or life threatening.

You have to hope that the perpetrator fits your preferred political narrative? You don't want this attack to be politically inconvenient?

Anyway, a witness on Sky News has said one of the arrested men was a black male dressed in black clothes. If that is true, I hope you can cope.

Out drinking Friday night, start drinking early in Saturday, drugs involved (like it or not cocaine is widely used by football fans, it’s apparently found all over Wembley), all it takes is one or two people kicking off for something like this to happen. im not saying it’s 100% the cause but it’s a possibility

PlaceIntheClouds · 01/11/2025 23:27

SoEasyToFall · 01/11/2025 23:19

Source? The police haven’t confirmed any identities.

A witness said as such on a new channel half an hour ago.

cottonwoolie · 01/11/2025 23:27

Daily Mail are calling it a suspected terror attack

Noiamnotalison · 01/11/2025 23:20

Yes!

I thought that too!

cottonwoolie · 01/11/2025 23:27

That's not to say it conclusively is.

Lunalara · 01/11/2025 23:28

Surely this does fit the definition of a terror attack?

ThatOneStupidPheasant · 01/11/2025 23:28

It doesn't matter which race, skin colour or culture did this, crime is crime, and we are witnessing a huge drop down of care in general. The shit seems to be floating to the top generally, thanks to a combination of low policing and a lighter hand against aggressive men in broader culture.

I get that the rags always want a race story to agitate the plebs, but the real issue is country wide.

You are exposed to increasing insanity whether you drive or take transport.

I was threatened with a knife by a group of boys in the north west a few months ago. It wasn't serious (I didn't feel they were likely to harm me thank god) but it did illustrate the casual apathy, the almost mundane acceptance of violence prevalent now amongst males, as opposed to the UK I grew up in (I am 50).

Vinorosso74 · 01/11/2025 23:28

SoEasyToFall · 01/11/2025 23:17

The report on Sky said it was from Newcastle to London.

Newcastle fans are known to be a bjt shitty, in sorry to say. Like I said. It was just my first thought. I’m not going to bend myself backwards into some sort of racism rage when we don’t know anything about the identity of the suspects.

Ok, I have seen updates and it appears it was soutbound but impossible to be travelling on a train from Newcastle this weekend dys to engineering work!
Newcastle fans are some of the least shitty behaved! I'm not going to get into a debate about that when we don't know how badly injured people are.
@Goldeh I agree with you.

PlumpHobbit · 01/11/2025 23:28

Those poor people, its an awful enough to be caught up in as it is, but on a train where there's no escape adds another level of fear

Hopefully the victims are as ok as they can be, with no fatalities. Glad the perps have been caught so they can face justice

KWaldron · 01/11/2025 23:29

People automatically first think of similar attacks, of which there have been several in the UK and Europe, and all by the same group of terrorists. That's not racist, it's natural, well justified fear.

InLoveWithAI · 01/11/2025 23:30

Could easily be AI.

Calm down until details are confirmed.
