FFS, there are 9 people with life threatening injuries in hospital, their families and those who were on board the train.
The most important thing now should be them not speculating on stuff coming from social media. There is too much hatred being stirred up in the UK right now. Think of them, not stirring up more hatred.

I can’t understand why more can’t be done about knife crime. It’s rife, and appears to be very common for certain young men to carry them. You can’t carry a knife legally without good reason, anyway. I think the whole issue needs a review, including the industry which produces the dodgiest ones favoured by criminals.

Yes, people being stabbed to death in random attacks, and perpetrated by a certain demographic is happening more often than in 2005. It's not being "whipped up online". Do you live in a cave? Why do you feel the need to downplay incidents like this? Bizarre.

I get that frustration, this is part of the problem. Very few people are having a nuanced and balanced conversation.

Those people who are ‘anti immigration’ (I’m using the term as short hand), are frustrated because they see issues and feel unheard. The only people who seem to be hearing them are NF, YL, people who are using this as an excuse commit violence. But at least it feels like they’re listening.

The people who are ‘pro immigration’ (again short hand) are frustrated because they see the lies and manipulation that people are being fed and try and explain that. In the process, undermining people’s initial and genuine concerns. They come across as unaware and patronising because they’re giving a perspective which is broader than the day to day lived experience of people who are struggling with it. And so the cycle continues.

I have just skimmed this thread but did I just read that someone was blaming knives and suggesting we should make less dangerous kitchen knives?

Are you suggesting people couldn’t be outraged at racist attacks against them perpetrated by those that absolutely despise them? That we should just meekly accept Islamic attacks on our soil and shrug our shoulders?
