Home bargains hell.

Just visited Home Bargains for the first time. What a horrible shop. Full of the great unwashed and plastic tat! People standing around talking, you can’t get past them. The queuing system is mad! Everyone stands up one aisle and then goes to a till when it’s free. What wrong with queuing normally behind each individual till.
You may save a few pence but you’ll loose your sanity!

You sound very judgemental and unpleasant…

didntlikeanyofthesuggestions · 29/10/2025 14:46

Do you work for B&M?

ChopstickNovice · 29/10/2025 14:47

I've been to B&Ms like this and B&Ms not like this. Maybe it depends on the branch!

ninjahamster · 29/10/2025 14:48

How awful for you to have been exposed to the paupers.

I am sure Harrods will welcome you with open arms.

TulipTuesday · 29/10/2025 14:50

I’m working class and regularly shop in B&Ms. I do, however, know the difference between lose and loose.

Plump82 · 29/10/2025 14:50

You absolute, utter snob.

Yamamm · 29/10/2025 14:51

Don’t go to Sports Direct.

Lennonjingles · 29/10/2025 14:52

Ours has just doubled in size and now takes twice as long to walk around, same stuff, just more of it. I do get all my tinned food, cleaning/toiletries there, but I will only go early morning when it’s just opened.

Keepthecat · 29/10/2025 14:52

It's not somewhere you'd visit for fun! I do agree about the queuing thing - it's ridiculous. It takes longer to queue up and pay for your stuff than to actually choose it.

You sound snobby! They probably haven’t got enough staff to have one on every till. I love HB ! For anyone starting to set up home on a budget it’s a boon. Excellent for bits for Christmas, stocking fillers etc.For basic homewards and toiletries it’s great. Love B&M too.I take it you’re not a fan of Aldi or Lidl either, OP? Try them, great for Christmas food and stuff!

smallglassbottle · 29/10/2025 14:53

I get all my vitamins, laundry products and birdfood from there 😂

Not the great unwashed!

EnchantingDecoration · 29/10/2025 14:53

Oh, ours is nothing like that. Clean, quiet, well laid out, minimal queues. God forbid anyone should stop and talk to a friend in a shop, whatever is the world coming to.

Bluesclues1 · 29/10/2025 14:54

Hard agree OP. Our local one seems to be full of families with horrendously behaved children moping around with not a lot else to do

Allthesnowallthetime · 29/10/2025 14:55

I have been there. I did wash before going.

Needmorelego · 29/10/2025 14:55

Don't shop there again then.
Problem solved.
Personally I like the shop.

FeliciaFancybottom · 29/10/2025 14:56

I hope you showered and burnt your clothes after being in such close proximity to povvos. Shudders in middle class.

BernadetteJune · 29/10/2025 14:56

Love Home Bargains - favourite products include:
Dog Treats
Kitchenware (serviettes, cake cases, storage containers, baking tins)
Laundry Products
Cereal Bars
Other things on offer eg. Nescafe gold blend, breakfast cereal
Great shop. Queueing not a problem at my local store!

smallglassbottle · 29/10/2025 14:57

I like the fact that you don't have to dress properly before you go. Nobody judges you if you wear a pajama top under your cardigan and have messy hair. Apart from the OP.

Terriblytwee · 29/10/2025 14:57

It’s where you buy your bits innit.

MightyGoldBear · 29/10/2025 14:57

I love B&M and home bargains. It's absolutely not mandatory for you to shop in them op so just don't 🤷🏼‍♀️

Pinkclarko · 29/10/2025 14:58

It’s worth it for 89p beef jerky alone.

PixieandMe · 29/10/2025 15:00

I love Home Bargains, it reminds me of Woolworths!

smallglassbottle · 29/10/2025 15:00

65p for a filled half coconut for the garden birds 🥰 the bluetits yell at me if I run out.

But not the difference between B&M and Home Bargains? 🤣 Really? Their signs are a different colour and everything!
