Christmas decor you just don't like?

It's obviously all down to* *personal taste but..... which items of Christmas decor leave you feeling colder than the weather outside?
For me it's the Disney baubles/figurine things that hang on the tree! Putting a little red hat on Bambi doesn't make him festive, even worse when it's the whole collection and it looks like something that belongs in a nursery!
Thinking about it most Disney films seem to be set in the summer so maybe that's why they seem so wrong on a Christmas tree🤔
I did go through a phase of everything being silver/black and white (should give the Disney lovers something to cringe at on my behalf! ) but over the last few years I have added a bit more colour, obviously in a very tasteful almost still neutral way...
This thread is hopefully lighthearted, I am taking the piss out of myself and do not feel I need hate mail from the 'Disney Christmas Decoration Foundation'🤣

Op of all the Disney characters you chose a deer which is defiantly festive !
Bambi woods creatures in snow is festive however I agree on general Disney stuff except Tinkerbell as faries are festive.

Agree with blue flashing lights and cold colours.

The ballet nutcracker is ultra festive I like nutcrackers .

I adore tinsel.
I adore the 80s foil across the ceiling it transforms a room from everyday to a Xmas grotto

Also reflects sparkling lights .

Not keen on inflatables .
Not sure about ginks arnt they somerhng from noway ?

Agree with strange pizza secs and also not keen on the whole tree covered so you can't see it unless it's spectaular

Yes I like the nutcracker theme. Rat kings, sugar plum fairies, the lot.

Exactly this! Plus, the blue lights make my vision go really weird.

Random baubles/decorations that have nothing to do with Christmas- pizza slices, sparkly dinosaurs, ballerinas (pretty much any tree decoration that my mum buys for DC each year, which they hate!).

Yes imagine cleaning that up together with a Norway spruce that has gone dry.

I actually think they are cuter than that plastic faced Elf on the shelf thing. He looks positively passive aggressive.

Oooh I love the random pizza decorations, my tree is made up of them! On the contrary, my hate is the matchy matchy trees with a colour scheme, not us at all.

The elf on the sodding shelf. Creepy as fuck.

Those horrible cold blue flashing lights outside people's houses at night. Bit disconcerting when you are driving and see them in the distance. They look like the emergency services are attending an incident.

I hate the Elf and the constant fb posts about it. Those people are unfollowed during December.

I love different Christmas traditions and cultures, collect books about them and incorporate them into my patchwork Christmas. I quite like all decorations if they bring people joy though I do find cold lights, particularly blue ones quite odd.

Yes they are! I've had them for over 30 years and I love them so much. We have a family of them and when each child moved out they were given one of their own on December 1st so their new place would feel Christmassy.

Sven, Olaf, Sigurd and Helga are our Tomte family. Lovely wee things. (well, not wee, Sven is 4 foot tall)

I hate the blue lights. When DH and I first lived together he came home one day with a tree and lights and some basic decorations and the lights were that awful blue, it was sweet that he came home with all that stuff so I put up with them for that year but then they had to go!

I don’t like the random non festive decorations like pizza slices or flamingoes but we have them anyway as the kids choose a new decoration each every year and of course they go for a dinosaur or turtle,

Elf on the shelf will never cross my threshold!

Who actually buys this crap?

Generally, too much of it. I like a decorated tree, anything else seems overkill. Especially those 'tasteful' foliage wreaths wrapped round bannisters. And nutcracker soldiers. And chuckling Santas hanging off things.

I actually much prefer the concept to a hairy old paedo man who comes down the chimney.

I love lametta. It's the twinkliest and reminds me of my Grandma's house.

I think we need more Krampus decorations.

I used to love putting lametta on the tree when I was little. It was a top job. I don't use it now but it was a lot of fun in the 70s when I was small.
