Christmas decor you just don't like?

It's obviously all down to* *personal taste but..... which items of Christmas decor leave you feeling colder than the weather outside?
For me it's the Disney baubles/figurine things that hang on the tree! Putting a little red hat on Bambi doesn't make him festive, even worse when it's the whole collection and it looks like something that belongs in a nursery!
Thinking about it most Disney films seem to be set in the summer so maybe that's why they seem so wrong on a Christmas tree🤔
I did go through a phase of everything being silver/black and white (should give the Disney lovers something to cringe at on my behalf! ) but over the last few years I have added a bit more colour, obviously in a very tasteful almost still neutral way...
This thread is hopefully lighthearted, I am taking the piss out of myself and do not feel I need hate mail from the 'Disney Christmas Decoration Foundation'🤣

I don’t like anything Grinch themed. I don’t like that shade of green and that character seems to be as much a part of Christmas now as Santa.
I also don’t like that candy cane swirly red and white look, it makes me think of a barber’s shop pole.

I dislike gonks too, my mum loves them and has lots all year around.

Dislike ice white lights, they give me a headache.

Really hate tinsel.

Dislike artificial trees.

Ooh I love them too. There’s a lovely little store in the covered market in Oxford that sells all sorts of different ones. I got a little rainbow sheep and pineapple for DS.

Gonks seem to have usurped by highland cows. Or as the achingly twee branding says Heilan' Coos"

I like seeing it all outside other people's houses. I used to drive my DS around to see them. I love all the city's lights.

I cannot bear much at home and I wouldn't have anything on the ceiling like my DM used to do. I had a 6 ft huge tree for years because my DS liked it but it was a huge job. We've got one pop up one this year and some other bits. We also don't have it up for long.

We have an artificial tree, but it is really realistic looking, people think it is real. Nightmare to put together mind, branch by branch, but so worth it once it is up!

God, the grinch theme is EVERYWHERE this year.

What is with the Highland Cow theme this year? They're everywhere!

I don't mind the random ornaments at all because we have a fair few as our baubles for the tree....a complete mishmash of ornaments but all mean something to us. Perhaps the prawn cocktail lover in your life needs the decoration posted up thread 🤣. For that reason I suppose I'm not a fan of tastefully decorated trees where everything matches but it doesn't mean anything other than "my theme is white and silver" or whatever.

Blue light and coloured tree lights. Can’t stand either.

Oh, and anything flashing on and off.

I don't like the nutcracker soldiers. I find them quite creepy. My grandma had a huge set of three last year!

I love tinsel and multicoloured trees and home made decorations though. My mum still hangs the "festive scissors" on her tree that I made out of sparkly pipe cleaners aged 4. That's the stuff of joy 😁.

Bright white icicle lights around houses. I also hate flashing blue lights (reminds me of the police)!
Bright white tree lights, unless it is a snow covered tree which does look nice.
I prefer warm white, and if any colour lights, they need to be retro with orange instead of yellow, and include pink. Infact

I prefer retro 90s style colour lights on a traditional large Christmas tree (warm white can be a bit boring for dcs). Wish they would make the blue in them turquoise or just eradicate it all together preferably.
Cannot stand bows on anything, and hate Santa's and similar tacked to front doors.

Any inflatables, those gonk things, flashing lights.
