I filled out the form last Sunday and haven’t heard back yet either. The form did say up to 72 hours but it’s not looking good if nobody else has heard back.

Probably a delay as overwhelmed with responses. If they did a proper recall notice where you can return your affected roll ons to retailers to get refunds.

If a product is recalled, retailers don't need a receipt as its a H or S issue. As I remember some branded toiletries that were recalled 7-8 years ago. I couldn't remember where I bought them as I buy 3-4 if on offer.

MondayBluesAreBack · 24/09/2025 06:43

Has anyone heard from Mitchum? I emailed ages ago and haven’t heard back.

Chick981 · 24/09/2025 06:46

Nope nothing, I have sent them a DM on Instagram today.

isthismylifenow · 24/09/2025 06:59

I am in SA so also affected by the same batch numbers.

But Revlon have done a recall here and we can return our affected batches to any retailer that sells Mitchum, and they are issuing refunds.

So odd that doesn't seem to be the case in UK.

Mine aren't in these batches, but my dd also got a severe rash, so they won't refund mine. But I am convinced it's a wider issue than just the batches they announced.

I've heard back from the 'Mitchum Cares' Consumer Affairs Team and they are "offering you a voucher for the retail price of the product, which is £3.50 and then a second one of the same value for the inconvenience, totaling £7".
What an absolute insult to be offered £3.50 for the 'inconvenience' of suffering a painful rash on both armpits! I tried to reply saying exactly that but the 'Mitchum Cares' email blocks replies.

rookiemere · 24/09/2025 07:39

Still not heard from them despite messaging at least 2 weeks ago now.
Deeply disappointed, even a holding message saying how much they valued my custom and would get back within 28 days would have worked. I may phone to chase although not at all sure I would even want two Mitchum roll ons now.

Haven't heard from them yet, but I hope that is per bottle as I have 4 or 5 of them.. It's certainly better than nothing, but I agree it doesn't cover the pain though :( .

DungareesTrombonesDinos · 24/09/2025 17:04

Oh my bloody god thought i was going mad! It feels like when I once burned my arm pits with Nair and had to go get some cream from the GP. How absolutely disgusting!!

That's a joke! The inconvenience of burning us..I haven't heard anything yet but won't be accepting that.

EsmaCannonball · 24/09/2025 22:31

I still haven't heard back. Anyway, the two bottles of affected deoderant that I bought had already been binned before this issue came to light, along with any receipts. I wonder how they are going to handle lack of proof of purchase? A refund doesn't exactly cover the severe pain, the burns and the cost of the products I bought to relieve the damage.

I didn't have to provide a receipt, so that's one good thing.

The email response I got said
"These vouchers will be sent by mail, so they may take up to 7 days to arrive at your address.
In parallel, you will receive also a short questionnaire by e-mail asking for some additional details about your experience. We’d appreciate it if you could send this questionnaire back to us in 5 days."

I can't wait to get the questionnaire because I am not going to be kind!

Scottishgrandma · 30/09/2025 12:36

Considering the discomfort I suffered, I think what they are offering is a disgrace. I am not accepting this and now waiting to hear from their head office.

dick27 · 01/10/2025 10:53

Appaling customer service/crisis mgmt thus far - extremely disappointing

BadAmbassador · 05/10/2025 10:54

I messaged using their customer service portal and have heard nothing - must be at least 6 weeks now

dick27 · 05/10/2025 12:08

I have now had 3 emails. 2 identical - telling me I will be sent vouchers via US mail. 1 claiming that my batch (number was one listed on their website) was NOT one of the ones affected. And asking me for pics of my pits.

ForeverDelayedEpiphany · 08/10/2025 21:00

Just seen this... any idea if we can join the lawsuit?

I have 2 bottles that aren’t listed on the batch numbers but definitely caused irritation 😡. I guess there’s no point complaining though if the ones that are listed are being ignored.

skyeisthelimit · 12/10/2025 13:44

I commented on the Instagram post and Mitchum asked me to contact them which I did. They have now emailed me, asking for photos of bottles showing batch numbers, photos of injuries incurred, and asking for proof of any doctors visits or medical costs incurred.

They are offering £7 if taken in vouchers or £3.50 if taken in cash. I don't physically go to supermarkets that often, but I suppose I could get a friend to use the vouchers in store for me. I have several bottles, but it doesn't seem much compensation for the pain caused, as I was itching and sore for days.

Keepit100 · 15/10/2025 20:35

I’ve just contacted them. This was my first time using the roll on so I just assumed I was allergic to it even though I’m not really that way inclined. Then saw posts on social media and realised the issue.

I don’t know how we can be expected to be grateful for a voucher when we’ve suffered actual discomfort. I have no intention of taking it any further as have no proof or anything but it’s an absolute joke they’re just dishing out vouchers.

TelleSt · 17/10/2025 09:37

Has anyone got anywhere with complaining? Mitchum keep trying to fob me off with a £7 voucher! It is pathetic. They caused me burns, sleepless nights and I couldn't lift my kids the pain was so bad...!

dick27 · 21/10/2025 09:21

I got my 2 x £3.50 in the post with a letter that has clearly been written by the legal dept - along the lines of 'sorry for the issue which you attribute to this product'.

MondayBluesAreBack · 28/01/2026 15:09

Has anyone heard anymore about the recalled products? Sometimes my armpits are itchy even though I stopped using Mitchum products. I’m now wondering if it’s caused damage to my skin. Perhaps my skin is now more sensitive than before. I didn’t have an issue before using these products.
