I was on the Tube heading towards King's Cross.

Fellow passengers were impressed that it worked deep underground!

SummerFrog25 · 07/09/2025 17:27

At home, I set am alarm so it didn't startle me. Needn't have bothered it was pretty lame.

IMissSparkling · 07/09/2025 17:28

I switched alerts off. So glad I was not out in public!

Mangetouts · 07/09/2025 17:28

With my in laws. All 4 phones went off.

What are we expected to do in the event of a real one, apart from reach for the drinks cabinet??

Financeisfun · 07/09/2025 17:28

I never got it for some reason

CatHugger · 07/09/2025 17:30

I was at a local fete. Very noisy and some people weren't expecting it. Mine arrived about a minute after most people's phones went off.

reversegear · 07/09/2025 17:31

In bed with a heat pack! Made me jump

booksnpepsimax · 07/09/2025 17:31

In bed, eyes closed ready to nap! I’d forgot about it and got a right fright

Redrosesposies · 07/09/2025 17:31

I was at my parents house. My phone is too old for alerts and they have both got basic flip phones so not a sound there.
DH tells me there was a beep here but he doesn't know if it was his phone (also old) or my tablet, although I couldn't find any alert settings last week to turn off on that.

ICanSpellConfusionWithaK · 07/09/2025 17:32

Turned that thing off.

ArghhWhatNext · 07/09/2025 17:32

At a Prom concert. They delayed the start to account for all the pings.

Marmite27 · 07/09/2025 17:32

We were at home, mine didn’t go off. DH accused me of having a secret phone, before realising it was his own work phoneConfused

CanOfMangoTango · 07/09/2025 17:33

Running. I was about to overtake a woman in front who was walking and it gave both of us a fright 😱

PiggyPigalle · 07/09/2025 17:33

Up a ladder, had the radio on. I couldn't tell whether it was my phone or the news reader's. It was more of a wimpy sound than a siren.

Rightandwrong · 07/09/2025 17:33

It's the first time I've ever got one of these emergency alerts.
I happened at 15.01 so I thought it wasnt going to happen this time either.
I was on my phone talking to my son at the time and we'd actually being discussing the alert prior to it happening. He didn't get the alert at all.

SwallowsandAmazonians · 07/09/2025 17:33

A city farm

NippyNinjaCrab · 07/09/2025 17:34

Ours didn't go off.

Presumably it will tell us.
