I was on the Tube heading towards King's Cross.

Fellow passengers were impressed that it worked deep underground!

On a busy road walking the dog. One of those moments of juggling lead and phone on a busy road. When phone is usually firmly in pocket.

last time I was DTD with dp 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I was walking through Hyde Park so it wasn’t particularly loud. However, i was with a foreign friend who is visiting from Central Asia and her phone also went off which surprised us both!

zeddybrek · 07/09/2025 22:05

Busy part of Camden. It was so strange when everyone phones started going off. Like out of a movie!

Cinaferna · 07/09/2025 22:21

Didn't know it existed. It didn't go off on my or DH's phones but we're abroad. Maybe abroad is safe in an emergency?

CleanHankie · 07/09/2025 22:25

Was at the Women's Rugby World Cup in Brighton. Was a convenient point in the game so the ref paused it for a few minutes.
30,000 people sitting in a stadium staring at their phones was quite a sight, although it was a lot quieter than everyone expected. Not sure they would have heard it on the pitch tbh!

DazedandConfused1234 · 07/09/2025 22:32

In a restaurant by a first floor window. It was funny seeing all the shoppers outside stop and look at their phones at the same time (as well as all of us inside).

Lunalara · 07/09/2025 22:35

I was in Reading centre. Was expecting it to be very loud, but it just came out as one quietish beep that stopped quite quickly. Perhaps people were expecting it and got rid of it immediately.

Lunalara · 07/09/2025 22:37

Also mine and everybody I knew had the alarm either at 3 or 3:01.

Empress13 · 07/09/2025 22:46

In my kitchen making lasagne

NeedWineNow · 07/09/2025 22:51

Sitting in the garden with DH saying 'can you hear something '? and only realising about 15 minutes later what it was!

manatusk · 07/09/2025 23:18

Playing Pokemon go

themonkeysnuts · 08/09/2025 19:41

My son finally checked in and said he was napping and didn’t hear it! Is that even possible?

Yes, it is lame.

SliceofTosst · 07/09/2025 19:31

Asleep with earphones in. That's a true rude awakening. Jumped out my skin.

What phone have you got? Mines an iPhone15 & it made a very quiet noise. Truly lame.

BlueandWhitePorcelain · 09/09/2025 08:57

Malaysia - it would have been 10 pm for us! We didn’t hear a thing! We tend to be comatose by then, after a day’s sightseeing in 30 degrees heat with high humidity!

The alert is sent to mobiles phones in the UK so you wouldn't have been sent one!

I was at the Mercian Gathering, listening to a singer. Everyone's phone went off, so the performance was delayed for a bit.
