I was on the Tube heading towards King's Cross.

Fellow passengers were impressed that it worked deep underground!

I was on a plane, flying back to the UK at the time so missed all the excitement!

ProudDada · 07/09/2025 19:39

At the cinema. No signal.

smallglassbottle · 07/09/2025 19:40

Asleep in bed because I hadn't slept last night and was up early for church 😴

Shire horses/cart horses, beautiful😍

I was working on hospital ward and because of poor reception they went off at slightly different times and different sounds......was like an orchestra playing😂

Are they the ones in the Budweiser Christmas ad? I love them.

NeedToKnow101 · 07/09/2025 19:46

On the March Against Antisemitism in London. Walking along Regents Street, specifically.

In a pub loo. I’m terrified of water pipes and public loos are a nightmare. The siren certainly sped up the process.

I thought I was the only person that had a pipe phobia, water pipes, gas pipes, no idea why 😂

It’s very debilitating!!

At our sons new house painting the walls

I never got it for some reason

Me neither, nor my partner!

Mumofsoontobe3 · 07/09/2025 19:56

Sitting on the sofa trying to feed my newborn. 1 year old got the fright of his life and my 6yo was frantically waving mine and DH's phone in the air shouting someone's phoning I think it's an emergency! Cats took a nose dive for the cat flap.

TheeNotoriousPIG · 07/09/2025 19:58

Mine was late, and I didn't get the second one, so clearly, I'm not worth saving either! Mind you, it was agreed that our manager would tell us to ignore the siren and carry on while running for shelter himself.

We delayed milking the cows by a few minutes (so ate cake instead), because they do not like anything that's different (even me wearing a different hat is off-putting, apparently, so goodbye, Fair Isle bobble hat), and a siren would probably upset them!

SabreIsMyFave · 07/09/2025 19:58

Standing in the lounge with my DH, looking at our phones, waiting for the Emergency Alert. Grin

It's been pissing down all day, so there's been nowt to do. Not much open either, so we've just been in watching TV, playing video games, and playing board games!

pambeesleyhalpert · 07/09/2025 20:05

In the car, I nearly crashed! Completely forgot it was coming

WearyAuldWumman · 07/09/2025 20:07

The local leisure centre. There was a Masters/Seniors swimming gala on. Some people commented on how well the gala was organised: the alarm went off just after a race had finished. Then some phones went off a few minutes later.

CurlewKate · 07/09/2025 20:08

I was at home listening to a podcast. Alan Davis said “small boats” and the alarm went off. I thought Farage had staged a coup.

AdoraBell · 07/09/2025 20:10

In a local pub with neighbours for lunch.

hereismydog · 07/09/2025 20:10

Changing a nappy 🤣

Cynic17 · 07/09/2025 20:13

Out of the country. But I have these alerts permanently disabled on my phone - who on earth would want the Government messing with their day with this nanny state nonsense?

TheBolterdahling · 07/09/2025 20:15

Driving with DP, it gave us both a scare initially as we thought it was some kind of warning alarm on the fairly new camper van
my phone went off about 30 seconds after DP’s.

MotherTuckinGenius · 07/09/2025 20:19

Having an afternoon nap so I’d purposely turned my phone off.

BearSoFair · 07/09/2025 20:27

In a shop changing room with no trousers on! Had to fish my phone out of my jeans on the pile to turn it off!

sadtimeshardtimes · 07/09/2025 20:27

At a food festival next to our local beach.

SkiAndTravelTheWorldWithMyDog · 07/09/2025 20:51

Having a desperately needed nap. I was not impressed. (My own fault I know).

Mumofmarauders · 07/09/2025 20:53

In the swimming pool with phone in a locker, so I don’t know what it sounded like 🤦🏽‍♀️

Oh yeah it really messed with my day, honestly it went off and I’ve no way of recovering from it until at least Tuesday!
