Hate how racist everything has become, and how quickly it’s happened.

I was just looking at facebook, and a ‘Sad face’ newsmaker article came up. Practically all the comments mentioned boats, asylum seekers etc etc. Its really getting me down.

Travelled to the south west last weekend. On the way down no flags on bridges. On the way back, in some areas, every bridge.

Its scary how quickly it’s all happening.

It is indeed a beautiful hotel that photo looks stunning, beautiful architecture.

My point was in reply to pp saying imigrates weren't having a great time In the hotels, illegal immigrates claiming to be refugees are ecomonic migrants

Gaming the system

Does doing OF mean you cannot be a genuine refugee?

You are intimidated by it? My God, you must live a sheltered life.

It's a bit suss though isn't it - anonymous groups of people with unclear funding suddenly putting up symbols everywhere in the dead of night, they just appear without announcement/dialogue etc, there they are in the morning outside your home, a mysterious fait accompli. If their motives are merely straightforward joy and happiness in looking at flags, why the secrecy, and so suddenly as well. It appears to be an event planned away from public view, which raises my suspicions. People with pure hearts do not plan in secret and act under cover of darkness.

Hi, OP. I thought you'd enjoy this interview of Gad Saad by Ayaan Hirsi Ali and their discussion of suicidal empathy.

I do think that there is a class of sort of lobotomized progressives who truly believe that there is no higher virtue than to be orgiastic empathetic...

Have we reached a point where objecting to racism is viewed as “suicidal empathy”?

No. That is not what she says at all.

I remember when people liked her a lot but she's not as left as the left would like, so now I hear weird stuff about her. That's really twisting her words.

Maybe it depends on your definition of racism.

So you think asylum seekers should instead be sent to live on the street while being assessed?

Many of them are not asylum seekers, if they were then why don't they bring the women and children?
They are here to get what they can.

Oh, and do you think we should allow people who were born here to live on the streets?

Iwanttoliveonamountain · 25/08/2025 02:05

Silverbirchleaf · 24/08/2025 22:31

But what does flying a flag, painting roundabouts achieve though? . Fear? Intimidation? I like living in Britain, but I’m not proud of these ‘British’ people at all.

Edited

Flag flying and overt shouty pride has NEVER been part of 'British values' - We are more self-depreciating, calm, low key kind of people.
Ask your parents or grandparets if they ever had flags up indoors [ except of course for football, olympics etc]

But a lot of what you’ve said is just not true. Most asylum claims are from Syria and Afghanistan, countries where many people are scared for their lives and have almost no hope of improving their lot. If you knew the risks people take to flee their home countries you would be less likely to think they just pitched up here for an easier life. France takes in a lot of asylum seekers, and Germany still takes in the most in the EU.

I do wish people would get their knowledge from factual places rather than being hyped up by the DM or other right wing papers or a mate on FB.

There are currently about 32,000 asylum seekers in hotels spread across the UK. I really don’t think they’re the reason you can’t get a DRs appt.

I think a lot of people are missing the point, many of us don’t care about the facts or the knowledge you say about because the fact remains the same these people are illegally entering our country and receiving all of the help and taking things from
us. What they went through doesn’t change it and never will i would rather them not come here. We would be 32,000 people lighter our hotels would be able to used our women and children would be safer. We wouldn’t have the housing crisis and these Individuals taking houses and places to live off good British people. The fact remains the same we have enough British criminals to last a life time we do not need anymore forgeiners to add to the mix

Coscc · 25/08/2025 02:25

Spookyspaghetti · 25/08/2025 01:33

I really don’t. I come from the inner city. But why should I have to take my child to play in a park surrounded by flags erected by racists? It’s not right and I’m going to stand up and say so. It’s not fair for the far-right and average Jo blog racist to put children in the middle of their political dispute.

Believing that people are equal is not a sheltered view point. Fearing others who are different because of memes and conspiracy theories read in an online echo chamber is very sheltered.

if I were to take my child to the park tomorrow and that’s what we seen I’d be talking about the British flag in a positive way and not even mentioning the real reason it’s being erected and what it’s in support of I’ll let her see it for itself when she’s older and when she’s trying to protect her children and grandchildren from the utter mess we are as a country. You could do the same I mean anyone could do the same and just talk positively about the flag and what it actually means to be British and how to celebrate and support it in our British country Great Britain.

You are incredibly racist, and what's worse is that I don't actually think you know why. You're just parroting whatever nonsense you've seen on social media without applying an ounce of critical thinking.

many of us don’t care about the facts or the knowledge you say about

You don't care about facts and knowledge. So you're happy to believe anything, even if it isn't true? Why would anyone form an opinion on anything without knowing the facts?

these people are illegally entering our country

It's not illegal to claim asylum. The government refuses to define the legal route they're supposed to take.

We would be 32,000 people lighter

Wouldn't make a blind bit of difference. These people are stuck in limbo because this and previous governments have made an absolute shambles of processing them.

The number of illegal migrants in the UK is irrelevant compared to the number of legal ones.

our hotels would be able to used

I stay in hotels all over the UK multiple times a month - never had an issue getting a room anywhere. They're in shit hole Britannia hotels and the like that were so underutilized that the owners jumped at these government contracts.

our women and children would be safer.

The vast, vast majority of sex crimes and violent crimes committed against women and children in this country are committed by people they know, not asylum seekers.

We wouldn’t have the housing crisis

You must be joking.

and these Individuals taking houses and places to live off good British people.

If someone is found to have a legal right to live here, they've as much right to a house as you. You're not special because you happened to be born on a certain bit of rock due to a genetic lottery.

Good British people understand that, ignorant racists don't.

bloodymary2025 · 25/08/2025 02:53

https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/2084337/migrant-hotels-criminal-charges-taxpayers-2084337

People in full support of unlimited mass migration should at least conceed that criminal activity can and dose happen.

For those who say 'white people can be criminals too' - so why have more? Why is that an invitation to make somewhere even less safe.

Fury as 90 criminal charges brought against 41 migrants living asylum hotels

The charges relate to residents in one hotel.

Nestingbirds · 25/08/2025 03:06

I read ( on the bbc) that the flags are in support of a young giirl in rugby whom was prevented from dressing up in a Union Jack dress at school, they were celebrating a dressing up day of your culture and heritage, I actually think it is outrageous she was humiliated and told off. The school have since issued a profuse snd unreserved apology. Here the flags are both the union jack and St George’s flag.

The point of the flags is to show support for the little girl, but also to say we are proud of our history, our flag and our country. We can be loyal and patriotic if we like.

A quick google would have explained this all to you op.
Why didn’t you just check?
Why assume ‘racism’ is at the heart of this? It really has nothing yo do with it, and kind of makes you come across as racist and ignorant for jumping to that conclusion straight away.

Flomingho · 25/08/2025 03:08

It is awful how people are being overtly racist and xenophobic and using the situation with the migrants in the hotels as the reason. It is totally embarrassing behaviour. The media are stirring this and this will only pave the way for Farage to get in unfortunately.

Nestingbirds · 25/08/2025 03:13

A quick google and you can see how the flags are there to support this young child. It was in every newspaper at the time. Nothing at all to do with racism! Local people from all backgrounds supported her! Goodness me - sometimes you are just desperate to label and insult others.

Nestingbirds · 25/08/2025 03:26

Quite frankly I am sick to the back teeth of this forced shame from the left in particular.

It is insidious and relentless. That we as a country are not allowed to celebrate being British, to take pride in our way of life and values. I am becoming outraged at this insistence that we can not be positive and happy and flutter our flags.

I live in a beautiful village that attracts many visitors, we have bunting of the British flags all year round. It looks wonderful. Cottages fly the flag in their gardens on poles. It makes me deeply happt to see them, it always has done. We need more of this, not less. We will NOT live in a shame we do not deserve.

Even on here people can not separate patriotism with actual racism, it is terrifying, and minimising racism by doing so. People from all backgrounds and cultures can fly flags, you do know they are allowed to celebrate being British too?? All of this faux concern and protest on other people’s behalf - many of whom feel proud of the British flag is the worst type of virtual signalling, and is deeply racist in itself.

Racism is a serious crime. It is not acceptable in this country. Being patriotic, feeling proud of where you live and having dignity is not a crime. Please stop. Now.

Supersimkin7 · 24/08/2025 22:35

Welfare migrants aren’t a race issue - except in London where the homes and services they take come straight from
the poor, who are mostly non-white.

If you cared about racism, you’d get how distressing it is to know Windrush families who took two jobs each see their grandchildren forced out of their hometown by lifelong workless asylum seekers… in the name of fairness.

Welfare migration is an insult to the once-immigrant working poor - who aren’t white.

My town has roundabouts painted with a red cross. We are a rural community with low levels of diversity. There is very little impact from welfare migration. It's just racism.

MrsSkylerWhite · 25/08/2025 03:34

You are so ignorant and are doing a huge disservice to real racism.

Flag flying is NOT and will never be ‘racist’ - please educate yourself - at the very least look at the harm you are creating by labelling it as such.

It is implicit racism to assume those from ethic minorities can’t fly a flag with pride or be patriotic, or have he same concerns as everyone else. Honestly I just despair on here sometimes. You are being racist with your assumptions.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 25/08/2025 03:37

I'm not sure it's racism exactly.
More a shout to the govt that they need to start listening

A wake up message to those in power to actually work for us not themselves.

People are fed up Tory's were in power to long don't spend enough on services

Labour are worse it seems!

People are fed up with it all. The media doesn't help

Reform will win the next election I'm sure of it.

Ilfurfante · 25/08/2025 03:39

Sunflower3332 · 25/08/2025 00:45

Well they're not homeless and living on the streets like so many people who were born and bred in this Country are they?, and they certainly won't be without heating come the winter months like so many of our pensioners either.

So really you should be 'applying critical thinking' and see what's actually going on, and it's only going to get worse.

Would you rather they were living on the streets? Would that make you feel safer?
