nooooooo 😮 I had to Google! He’s literally been touring a couple of weeks ago!!

I know! I am aware that he has been ill for a very long time, but what a way to go eh? Performign in front of a huge crowd right up until the last few days of his life. I bet he wouldn't have chosen it any other way.

Zoopet · 22/07/2025 20:12

Parkinsons is a bastard disease.
R.I.P Ozzy.

quantumbutterfly · 22/07/2025 20:12

RIP Ozzy. Hope being mourned by mumsnet doesn't ruin your reputation as a hell raiser.

HÆLTHEPAIN · 22/07/2025 20:13

So sad. My son managed to see him at the concert the other week. He got tickets a couple of years ago for a concert that was cancelled so he was absolutely buzzing to get to see him.

housethatbuiltme · 22/07/2025 20:17

People saying 'its such a shock, he was just touring'... no he wasn't, he did one specific farewell gig where he sat down to perform and literally said in interviews that hes doing it because 'I'm dying', prior to that his last gig was a one of in 2022.

Hes been very ill for a long time. Its rather a miracle he survived so long given his wild life, mind blowing that he out lived Dio etc... but he knew (as did everyone) he was nearing the end. I think the fact he has survived so much madness just makes people think he would live forever.

whitewineandsun · 22/07/2025 20:19

I knew it would probably be soon, and he was really ill, but it's sad.

I didn't think it would hit me like this.

weebarra · 22/07/2025 20:21

I’m so pleased he got to do his last gig. What a legend. RIP Ozzy!

HauntedMarshmallow · 22/07/2025 20:22

How sad. A Brummy icon. At least he got to go out on a high. His music is as popular as ever. Very sad for Sharon and the family.

xSideshowAuntSallyXx · 22/07/2025 20:22

This is sad, yes it was well known he was unwell but it's still sad.

Man created a whole genre of music, may his legacy live on.

outerspacepotato · 22/07/2025 20:23

He peed on the Alamo thing. 😂

TorturedParentsDepartment · 22/07/2025 20:24

The sheer joy he had doing that last gig (and how bloody good he still was unlike lots of aging rockers who really should take the hint at times) - he basically went out being exactly who he was and having done what he loved... just typical Ozzy.

He peed on the Alamo thing. 😂

I dunno what this means but I can imagine him giggling about it 😆

NigelPonsonbySmallpiece · 22/07/2025 20:25

Thinking of his family, they seemed so close.

TheEndlessNight · 22/07/2025 20:25

For me personally the shock is that I am 44 years old. Ozzy (even though I've never met him or know him) has been in my life forever and its a shock that he's now gone and life moves on. I feel the same whenever anyone dies really.

And with all due respect to call people out for how they are feeling, processing things is really, really poor form.

He got arrested for peeing on a sacred war memorial where Davy Crockett died.

RabbitFurCoat · 22/07/2025 20:28

I don't know heaps about him but I do think it's good that people got to see more of him when they did the show. It made him a household name for another generation. He was a funny egg, he seemed to have a lot of joy. I doubt his loved ones will see this, but feels right to send his family some love and gentleness anyway. I hope it was peaceful.

Cause of death?

Well he's quite old, does it matter 🤷‍♀️

Naughty Ozzy!

MsNevermore · 22/07/2025 20:31

This is one of the few celebrity deaths that I’ve felt like I’ve been gut-punched 😔💔

Poor Sharon, and the kids and grandkids 😔
He knew he didn’t have long bless him, he said that he was treating his farewell concert as his funeral, and what a high to go out on after such an incredible life!

The legend will live on 🦇🦇🦇🦇

Yes! I think it was the first episode. Was it meat they were flinging?

I feel like the harbinger of doom now, said to DH after the Back to the Beginning gig that I didn't think we'd have him for much longer, wish I'd been wrong Sad

It felt like he was saying goodbye at the last gigs, with tears in his eyes. I’ve got a feeling it was an organised death, either that or he just hung on until he’d finished and the huge effort took it out of him. RIP to a legend, the prince of darkness 🥀
