Lucky enough to have seen Sabbath twice, very much in the early days.

I always loved the tone of his voice, nothing like it.

Thoughts are with Sharon and the kids and grandkids

Such a shame he didn't make it to Kelly's wedding. He seemed like a lovely man

A lovely man? Really?
He shot wild birds and cats for fun during lockdown. Killed 17 of his own cats?
That's not my definition of a " lovely man".

MagicalKingdom · 22/07/2025 21:02

A legend?
He beat his first wife, was abusive to Sharon, bit the head off a dove, urinated on a sacred war memorial.
I won’t mourn the loss of the prick.

nunsflipflop · 22/07/2025 21:02

RIP Ozzy.

The family were in Switzerland with him ‘“seeking treatment”

Cashed out on his own terms

WillowTit · 22/07/2025 21:03

not bad, 76

Smoke On the Water, great song.

It seemed like he'd be around forever.

Bat out of Hell was really good tooHmm

and had countless affairs including with his kids’ nannies. Sharon has the patience and forgiveness of a saint.

gotellsomeone · 22/07/2025 21:10

He admitted to massacring his family’s multiple cats.
i hope he doesn’t rest in peace

Oh that is so sad!

His farewell concert raised millions for a local children’s hospice, as well as Birmingham Children’s Hospital and I think a Parkinson’s charity.

Edited

It would be lovely if he's left something to a Parkinsons charity - it's a wicked disease and not a particularly 'sexy' one for fundraising. Unless you've been through it with a family member, it's very hard to understand. RIP Ozzy.

Even from beyond the grave Ozzy’s pissing off MN’s crazy animal lovers! Top work sir!

Thank god someone has some sense.
If he was a woman all previous posters would hate him.
He was a evil man, talented and entertaining maybe but he was not lovely and he doesn’t deserve to rest in peace.

It’s not a being a crazy animal lover to think shooting and stabbing 17 of your family’s cats * doesn’t make you a lovely man.
are you insane?

Yes! I think it was the first episode. Was it meat they were flinging?

A ham

I remember going to the first UK Ozzfest at Milton Keynes Bowl. I don't have much memory of the day, although a fantastic train ride from London to Mk with the train full of Goths and metal heads, all chatting and making friends, but I do remember Sabbath's set. They had big screens and showed iconic film clips with Ozzy superimposed over them, so he was Kate Winslet in the Titanic etc. Then they played the clip from The Shining where Jack smashes the bathroom door with an axe. As the door broke, Ozzy's face appeared -"Here's Ozzy", all the stage lights went up, Sabbath were there, and the crowd went INSANE!!!!

I was meant to go to that, I still have my ticket (and my friends) sadly didn't go in the end. Always regretted not going.

I thought he bit the head off a bat?

Cashed out on his own terms

Has that been confirmed by any verifiable source do you know?

SweetFancyMoses · 22/07/2025 21:22

He seemed like a lovely man

Pretty sure he was the antithesis of a ‘lovely man’.

Cause of death?

Did he consider himself to a medical miracle to be still alive.

RIP Ozzy

RaininSummer · 22/07/2025 21:24

I loved Ozzy and Sabbath. Had all the albums as a teenager. I am glad he went before the Parkinson's got worse as it's a hideous illness. I am also seeing the Sabbath ballet this autumn.
