Oh I just saw the PETA obituary via popbitch.

https://www.peta.org/news/rest-in-peace-ozzy-osbourne/

I mean wtf

??? And?

YourAmplePlumPoster · 24/07/2025 19:22

Surprised more of them haven't been convicted. If you see them giving their interviews today with their white hair and reformed speech, don't forget they're not in the least sorry for what they did.

YourAmplePlumPoster · 24/07/2025 19:24

Eventually they realise they're going to die in their own vomit as the drugs and booze are so excessive.

Rosscameasdoody · 24/07/2025 19:27

Flumpflimpo · 23/07/2025 23:02

He should have been in jail.

Of course his fame got him out.

Remember that paedophile in the band , the lostprophets.

His ex girlfriend said that she tried to report him for years, but the police wouldnt believe her for years, as he was famous.

Edited

And your point would be ?

Rescuedog12 · 24/07/2025 09:42

Good! He had a vile track record of animal abuse..As recently as lockdown he was shooting cats and birds in his garden.

So you’re happy his wife and kids are grieving ? Nice.

Sky news seemed to have elevated him to saint status last night and the female presenters were teary. Yes he was a legend but you’d think a member of the royal family had died.

No, this is more important Grin

I do agree that music legends and movie stars are more important than royalty because they earn their place in our hearts and lives. The work they produce is so meaningful to us. And people like Ozzie and the Gallagher brothers come from nowhere to make it big.

PopeJoan2 · 25/07/2025 10:39

MoonWoman69 · 23/07/2025 18:51

And? She stayed with him, so obviously forgave him and they worked it out! They adored each other, that was quite clear if you watched them in anything together. So to me, 99% legend yes! We all make mistakes we're not proud of. Not saying he wasn't in the wrong, but how many other legends have fucked up badly and have come out of the other side?!
If that's all you had to contribute to this thread, then I'm glad you obviously feel pleased to have got that off your chest!

Strangling someone is not a “mistake”. She was lucky to be a very wealthy woman with a panic button so the police were there very quickly. If not she would just be another statistic and Ozzie would have the same status as Sid Vicious. Sharon saved his life.

ImGoneUnderground · 26/07/2025 00:25

I was shocked by this, not a 'fan' as such' but still very sad. Had to check Google etc to see if this was true. Condolences to all his family x But what a great life he had + many memories for fans xxx

ThisHonestGoldWriter · 27/07/2025 09:06

Those Metal gentlemen from the West Midlands were made of strong stuff. Lemmy from Motorhead did well, and now Ozzy who was much loved the world over. They were real showmen in a genre that didn't always appeal to the masses when they started off. Ozzy had a lovely voice and it was The Osbornes that won many over that were not metal fans. Condolences to Sharon and his children. And thanks for your talent, Ozzy. You kept me entertained for years. RIP.

Did anyone watched the coverage of his final tour of Birmingham? Very emotional

I did. It was very emotional.

soundsofthesixties · 30/07/2025 15:19

I did, Sharon looks as though she's in a complete daze. Her kids were having to hold her up, it's too much for her with those thousands of people watching her every move. I just felt so sorry for her having to do this.

Gloriia · 30/07/2025 15:34

'I just felt so sorry for her having to do this'

She didn't have to do it, none of them did.

I saw it on the news, I've never known a funeral cortege stop to greet fans.

There's a time and a place and that wasn't it.

Yes you'd have to had a heart of stone not to find it emotional but it just seemed so very inappropriate imo.

I have a feeling they didn’t know he killed 17 cats in one killing spree. Can you imagine what a blood bath that must have been? Then they got some poor woman to clear up the mess.

Where did you read that? Don't worry, I found this:

It was the family’s wishes that this was done. They’ve paid for all of the associated costs.

I was responding to a pp who said poor Sharon having to do that. She didn't have to.

Yes I'm sure they paid for associated costs. My point was to pause a cortege, coffin sat waiting whilst they viewed mementos seemed inappropriate.

Do a funeral parade fine but to stop for walkabout was too much imo we could all see how frail Sharon looked.

I saw it. I was amazed at the crowd.

They certainly seem like a close family.

It wasn’t an impromptu stop though, it was said when the plans were announced on Tuesday morning that the family would go to the bridge to view the tributes.
It wasn’t exactly a walkabout either.
Sharon looked so frail, obviously I don’t know her but she always comes across as a strong personality who knows what she wants so I can’t imagine that she’d have done this if she didn’t want to.

Pedallleur · 31/07/2025 06:41

It was the audience that gave Ozzy and Sharon their life. She knows that and I thought that the stopping at the bench etc was v.moving. It gave the fans waiting and a TV audience moment to share. The family paid the costs (something politicians and the RF should remember). A fitting send off for Ozzy.

Brewdug · 31/07/2025 08:34

There was a huge spotlight on Birmingham and Sabbath this summer, I wonder if it would have happened this way any other year, probably not. In the whole emotional rollercoaster of the last few weeks it probably seemed like the ‘right’ thing to do for family and fans. Like many, I wasn’t expecting Sharon to appear so vulnerable though. It was incredibly sad.

Dartmoorcheffy · 31/07/2025 16:30

My heart goes out to Sharon at the moment. She adored him and you can see how broken and grief stricken she is. I hope she can stay strong as she looks so frail and utterly devastated.

The crunch will be when the kids go back to America as far as I know they all live there still?

As he's now buried in the garden of their UK home she must be planning on living there indefinitely. Ive read that Kelly also likes to live here, maybe that's their paln
