Such a shame he didn't make it to Kelly's wedding. He seemed like a lovely man

Richandstrange · 22/07/2025 19:23

I feel like the harbinger of doom now, said to DH after the Back to the Beginning gig that I didn't think we'd have him for much longer, wish I'd been wrong Sad

SilenceOfTheTimTams · 22/07/2025 19:24

That’s sad. He was old skool outrageous. 🦇

So Keith Richards outlives another old rocker. I swear he must be using some obscure magic to live forever.

frozenshoulderhell · 22/07/2025 19:24

Just seen this.. a true legend. Saw him in sabbath and solo .RIP Ozzy

333FionaG · 22/07/2025 19:24

Farewell to an absolute legend

Pedallleur · 22/07/2025 19:24

Seen him numerous times since 1976. Rags to riches in the true rock fashion. Working class man makes it. Lived the life to the full for good/bad.Better singers out there but he rose to fame and defined the sound of the genre. He would have been dead years ago if it hadn't been for Sharon

Turmerictolly · 22/07/2025 19:27

So pleased he went out in style in Brum. A proper legend.

PickledMuffin · 22/07/2025 19:28

RIP Ozzy!

TobiasForgesContactLense · 22/07/2025 19:28

So sad for his family but he did well to get to 76 given the life he has lived. He has given us such joy over the years.

I volunteered at the Home of Metal exhibition in 2019 that celebrated the 50rh anniversary of their debut album. It was amazing to speak to people who travelled from all over the world to come to Birmingham, the exhibition and tosee the house that Ozzy grew up in etc. They were all lovely.

Also very pleased that I went to the farewell concert earlier this month. The crowd knew that he would be limited in what he could manage but you could feel 40,000 willing him on so that he could feel the applause and the crowd appreciation one last time.

butterpuffed · 22/07/2025 19:30

He was such a legend and so outrageous ! Glad he got to do the farewell concert . RIP Ozzy

Dartmoorcheffy · 22/07/2025 19:33

So sad. Almost like he played his last gig knowing it was goodbye. RiP ozzy, you were a legend and your music will live on forever .

Gloriia · 22/07/2025 19:33

Ive no idea why people are so shocked. It is sad yes but he was 76 and had looked very frail for a long, long time.

It's a miracle he lasted as long as he did tbh. Rip Ozzy.

Don’t think anyone’s saying they’re shocked are they?

Yes some of the earlier posts.
It is indeed sad though.

livingoverseasproblems · 22/07/2025 19:35

I'm glad he got to do one final show - it every much felt like he'd go quickly after that ❤️

Who is shocked, everyone who knew about him knows he has been unwell, for a while, people are sad but happy he made the final farewell tour.

BurntBroccoli · 22/07/2025 19:38

Yes RIP Ozzy.

afaloren · 22/07/2025 19:38

I’m so glad he got to do his final homecoming concert. RIP Ozzy, rock legend and proud son of Birmingham 🦇

BeamMeUpCountMeIn · 22/07/2025 19:39

Oh bless him. RIP. Glad he managed to do his Villa gig earlier this month. He reached a good age really.

I've been comfort watching The Osbournes lately. They were crazy but adored each other.

Treesarenotforeating · 22/07/2025 19:39

Another legend of music gone 🖤

TorroFerney · 22/07/2025 19:40

MissMoneyFairy · 22/07/2025 19:15

Hang on, he's only just died, he had parkinsons and other health problems, such a character, he will be sorely missed.

I’m more (irrationally) irritated by posters who word questions like a demand.

Has the cause of death been revealed do you know op - would have been better.

I was one of the PP saying I was shocked, because I really was!

I think it's probably because he's been frail and unwell for ages, and although clearly not in full health, he seemed so vigorous and full of life at the concert just a couple of weeks ago. It's almost as if their frailty is their new normal and they seem almost invincible.

Also, when there's a person who isn't well for a very long time, you can become immune to how frail they are. I was like it with my grandad too - he was very, very unwell for the best part of 20 years but somehow managed to keep going. It was a huge shock when he collapsed and died - and I think it's the same kind of thing here.

I know it seems daft but both me and DP were really shocked.

LindorDoubleChoc · 22/07/2025 19:41

He was the living embodiment of how the body will sometimes forgive you for putting it through absolute hell. I used to watch At Home With The Osbournes (guilty pleasure and when that sort of TV was a novelty) and he really looked to be on his last legs then. He did well to get to 76! RIP Ozzy.

ZenNudist · 22/07/2025 19:42

Amazing to tour up to the end.
