Holiday today 😃

Going on holiday today everyone is very excited . I'm shitting it at the same time though.

I need to get to Liverpool street station. My original thought is to get the bus all the way there I think it said 1hr 20 min. Or I could get a train with 2 changes which would take me about half the time. But once im on the bus I don't have to worry . So maybe I should stick to that.

As we are getting to the resort late about 10.30pm will there be any food available? Just snacks or something. We are all inclusive which includes main meals, snack s drinks

What time is the flight, and how do you get to the airport from Liverpool St? I’d get the bus but allow loads more time than you need in case of delays.

Moltenpink · 11/06/2025 09:36

There might be snacks, but pack some cereal bars just in case. Have a great time!

NeedthatFridayfeeling · 11/06/2025 09:36

Any late arrival I’ve had there has been food, some were sandwich’s, some had a late restaurant, others plated up a selection of breads/salads/deli meats. Have a great holiday.

nhscompl · 11/06/2025 09:59

I'm sure there will be shops/takeaways open to grab food if you are somewhere touristy.

I remember you are going hand luggage only, did you manage to pack everything you need OK?

Ah thank you. Hopefully that's the case. Thank you 😊

If you decide to get the bus to Liv St, just be aware that there was a traffic accident on Liverpool St last night that means the 344 & 153 are on divert.

Also, bear in mind that the Stansted Express takes around 50mins and then allow time to get into the airport, check in, get through security etc. What time is your actual flight? Then people could give you a better idea of what time you need to leave home.

I would guess you need to get on the bus fairly soon.
Have a wonderful time! Remember to pack chargers, medication, spectacles, passports, double check you have your tickets on phones.
Did you get travel insurance?
I have been following your story from a distance online and am excited for you all. Have a lovely holiday.

minnienono · 11/06/2025 10:45

I would eat at the airport or buy food for the plane. I usually make up baguettes at home myself, I refuse to overpay at the airport. I’ve been offered food on arrival but it’s hit or miss

Did you manage to sort out special assistance, do you know what you need to do when you get to the airport?

nhscompl · 11/06/2025 11:21

That's good, have a great time OP. Look forward to hearing about the beautiful weather 😊

No decided to just go with the flow. But we have an option of getting a lanyard when we are at the airport port.

Buy food at the airport to eat on the flight.

CountryQueen · 11/06/2025 11:45

Yep, boots meal deal. Also get your suncream in there

Buy food at the airport to eat on the flight.

Me and dd was just saying that. Ds sausage there are shops to get snacks after we have done security. I'm not sure of prices though

CountryQueen · 11/06/2025 12:04

It’s fine price wise. Around £5 for a meal deal to take onto the flight, sun cream is much cheaper at boots airside than in the European supermarkets. Not sure where you are going but I’d definitely buy it here

MiddleAgedDread · 11/06/2025 12:10

Look on the website, it will tell you what shops are after security. It’ll be cheaper to buy there and have a better choice than on the flight.

There definitely will be, most likely a boots, WHSmith etc. Also a duty free shop with lots of different chocolates etc that you don’t usually see in supermarkets.

But there will definitely be somewhere to each get a cheap meal deal.

If you go for a sit down meal make sure it’s near your gate, somewhere you can see a screen which will tell you when boarding starts, and isn’t too busy so that you have enough time to order, have your food served, and eat. Do any shopping first to make sure you have time.

Youagain2025 · 11/06/2025 12:47

Adult ds is running late ffs . Teen dd decides she needs a wee at the last min sge takes ages ffs. Ds10 says he feels over whelmed his heart is beeping . Ds says we can get the next train and be there 2.5 b4 flight

OP posts:
MiddleAgedDread · 11/06/2025 13:19

2.5 hours before a flight is more than sufficient if you've only got hand luggage. Don't stress!!
In the meantime check out your dinner options - there's at least a Boots, WHSMith and Pret after security on the map Terminal Guide | London Stansted Airport

WasherWoman25 · 11/06/2025 13:24

I wouldn’t rely on the food on arrival, it’s usually sandwiches most kids won’t eat. I’d get a meal deal and eat on the plane like others have said. Means you are fed and kills some of the time.
