And lastly not so much a sweet.. Lucky bags they promised so much and delivered so little.

Parma violets
liquorice allsorts
blackjacks
Turkish delights - especially deceptive ones covered in chocolate

Toffos, fruity polos, Chocolate limes and Revels in case I got a coconut one.

Licorice allsorts. Mum used to buy them knowing none of us kids liked them so she could have them all!

Pink foamy shrimps
Chocolates with an orange or strawberry (or any other flavoured) cream centre.

Did anyone else get excited when a box of chocolates arrived in the house then then crushing disappointment when you found they were "Weekend" chocolates .
OK if you had the whole box to yourself but if you had to share then you might get one of your chosen ones first time round , after that no chance .

There was a red paper cup with hazelnut chopped in chocolate , two almonds in chocolate , a nougat .....and that was my selection done .

I'd forgotten about Weekend chocolates! An interesting mix...

Oddfellows. So rank. Even worse than Parma violets and Turkish Delight.

Those chocolates that were shapes like guitars and tools, either white chocolate or milk but clearly not seen anything linked to cocoa at all. Rank

Oh , my Mum used to love them, they were round , hard , chalky and IIRC three different colours . One was full on cinnamon, one of the others was orangey .

They were like eating soap .

Black fruit pastilles. Hard toffees.

Parma violets and aniseed balls.

I like pretty much everything else, and now I feel hungry.

Anything you might have thought was blackcurrant that turned out to be liquorice. I liked liquorice, but liquorice flavour was wrong. Some brands of midget gems had this feature, and I often bought those, so the liquorice ones were especially disappointing.
