Anything liquorice.

I'm not a fan of some , and as a vegetarian I don't eat Liquorice Allsorts but I do like RJs Natural Licorice (soft eating )

I bought two 300g bags last Saturday and by Sunday , I didn't have them .

doIIydaydream · 01/06/2025 19:06

Cadburys creme eggs
Turkish delight
Coffee cremes

heatherwithapee · 01/06/2025 19:50

Flying Saucers
Rainbow Drops
Anything with mint and chocolate together
Those hard chewy red sweets (?lips) that tasted like soap
‘Chocolate’ cigars / cigarettes
Any cheap ‘chocolate’

BCBird · 01/06/2025 20:08

Toffee crisp, Dairy Crunch, Mars bars and Marathons.

PenelopeSkye · 01/06/2025 20:17

The ones that look like mini eggs but aren’t Cadburys, taste so disappointing.

@Natsku I've never heard of liquorice sauce but I googled it and it does seem to be more of a Scandinavian thing, although it is available online here.

I may have to take the plunge as ice cream or plain cheesecake with a full coating drizzle of liquid liquorice sounds too good!

If you live anywhere near a branch of Sostrene Grene (think it's a Danish company but we have several in NI and I know they're expanding in the UK), they have loads of types of liquorice and liquorice flavoured stuff, so you might find a nicer tea there?

UseNailOil · 01/06/2025 22:03

‘Old Fashioned’ Spangles

Gingernaut · 01/06/2025 22:04

Anything aniseed, especially the jelly sprogs in the Licquorice Allsorts

scalt · 01/06/2025 22:11

Any mints.

Coconut, especially “desecrated” (desiccated) on cakes.

Marshmallows - I can’t bear to look at them.
Why ruin hot chocolate with them?!

Turkish Delight. It was a real disappointment after Edmund wanted it so badly in the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Biscuits with raisins instead of chocolate chips. Not fair!

As an adult, I like chocolate, but not other sweets.

aSpanielintheworks · 01/06/2025 22:17

Black Jacks/liquorice
Aniseed balls
Mint imperials
Those silver balls that you could easily break your teeth on.

I can remember the pick n mix two for 1p sweets in the corner shop!

PizzaSophiaLoren · 01/06/2025 22:20

Fake money notes.
All Sorts.
Foam Shrimps.
Sports Mixture.

LimeLime · 01/06/2025 22:25

Tooty Frooties - the vilest sweet ever invented, they tasted like acetone or some other horrible solvent.

Pear drops, for the same reason as above.

All chewy sweets except Opal Fruits, they were okay.

All foamy sweets without exception.

Imitation smarties, and those faux chocolate buttons with bobbly bits on. Such evil deceptions, and mean to pull that trick on a child.

sparklychair · 01/06/2025 22:27

Pear Drops
Anything with mint

Andoutcomethewolves · 01/06/2025 22:31

Liquorice allsorts. My dad used to love these and I'd bite the coconut bit off that one sweet then give the liquorice bit to my dad 🤣

Flying saucers were just pointless. The sherbet was drowned out by the tastelessness of the saucer.

Sugared almonds were very popular in Portugal when we lived there for a couple of years. Grim.

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 01/06/2025 22:31

I loved all sweets, especially toffee crunch, which they don't make any more (the stuff you can buy online isn't proper toffee crunch). This is probably why I am on Mounjaro and am six stone overweight.

Marcipix · 01/06/2025 22:34

Black Jacks
Liquorice
Aniseed balls

Absolutely loved Flying Saucers and still do 🛸

I used to push the liquorice middle out of those pink and white doughnut shaped ones and just eat the outers. Even then I could still taste the contamination. 😝Liquorice truly is the sweet of Satan.
