How many countries have you visited?

My kids were playing around with AI and learned that the average person on earth has been to less than one country (other than their country of residence..)

And for the UK specifically, 9. (Point something…)

I’m just being pointlessly nosy, mostly because I thought it would be much lower. (For example, a lot of people I know go back to the same destination year on year..)

How about you?

My DCs have been to 6 - which is about what I'd done at their age.
I think of myself as very well travelled but I can see I'm going to have to try harder.

I think it's 71 current countries. Some additional places that no longer exist (East and West Germany, Transkei) and disputed places (Turkish side of Cyprus for example).

kids (3 and 4) have been to 3.

Not counting the 4 countries of the UK, 12 in total. I have repeatedly visited 5 of those countries. I am not much interested in travel though.

28, not including Canada where I’ve never left an airport. 21 in Europe, USA, Costa Rica, Jamaica, UAE, Egypt (honeymoon 30 years ago), Singapore and Australia. Two more booked in for the summer holidays. 53 years old.

I make it 38, mostly in Europe (I'm in England, so it's 41 if Wales, Scotland and NI are counted as separate countries, and not just all UK!).

52 countries :) very lucky to have done a few sabbaticals which really rack up the numbers! My son will travel to 6 countries before his first birthday (3 down, 3 to go…). Travel is my passion so will always be a priority for me.

Personal travel , I’ve lived in a few countries, and also travelled the world with work .

I am away every single week now with work until mid July 😩

Canada, France, Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Cyprus, Greece, Portugal, Poland, USA (two nights camping in Alaska while we were staying with friends in BC). I'm not especially interested in travel and most of those were under parental initiation or school / orchestra tours plus a couple of holidays as a young adult. These days I'm reluctant to go anywhere that's not Wales if I'm honest.

I’ve been to 56 counties. I love to travel!
I do keep a list, but only for my own records, not to brag. I only add a country to the list when I’ve experienced more than one place in that country. So, changing planes or a city break in only the capital doesn’t count on my list.
