He’s had a stroke following a number of open heart surgeries to repair and replace his heart valves. I can’t breathe, I overheard them say terminal stroke. I love him so much.

@Stickygloop people care, those on the train will care

AnnieKenney · 15/05/2025 19:50

I wish I had the words to make this terrible situation a mite easier. I don't - but continue in the knowledge that I wish I did.

Carpedimum · 15/05/2025 19:52

I’m so very sorry @Stickygloop If it helps at all, my DS lost his DF at 13, almost 14 and his grace & resilience was astonishing. Unfortunately, his behaviour was so mature that it wasn’t until much later that I realised that he needed some bereavement counselling. I would strongly advise that your youngest two get some bereavement support as soon as possible no matter how strong or well-adjusted they seem. School will probably be able to help (unfortunately they will have lots of experience) and organisations like Grief Encounter, Cruse & Child Bereavement UK. It’s also worth mentioning that the anniversary coincided with exams so he was allowed a separate space for his A levels. Big hug!

My heart goes out to you and your lovely DH. I so hope he is comfortable and that this terrible shock to you and your DC will somehow give way to peace and calm for you soon. Thinking of you and saying prayer for you all. 🌺

MounjaroMounjaro · 15/05/2025 19:56

I'm so sorry you aren't near him right now. 💔

Carpedimum · 15/05/2025 19:57

I should also add that during the organ donation discussions, my DS made the most incredible salient points while everyone else was crumbling and couldn’t think straight. He led those decisions and even now he says he would have hated to not be included. It does help to know that the passing of your loved one is not futile.

Bundleflower · 15/05/2025 19:58

I’ve nothing of any substance to say. I’m just so terribly sorry. Thinking of you and your children xx

Strictlymad · 15/05/2025 19:58

Oh my he’s so young to have this happen. I’m sorry I can’t be of any help other than to say I’m thinking of you and your children xx

I'm so sorry you aren't near him right now. 💔

Me too, I feel so torn. I wanted to run away to my children but also climb into bed next to him xxx

loppity · 15/05/2025 20:32

I can't find words except to say that you and your family are in my thoughts x

StScholastica · 15/05/2025 20:33

Oh Love, what an awful situation. Don't give a thought to what anyone on the train thinks about you crying. You have every right to cry as much as you need to. I would come and sit beside you if I could.

Glitterybee · 15/05/2025 20:37

Big hugs OP!

Ive just seen you’ve updated with his age & cannot believe it. I know people in their 70s and one person in their 80s who went through the same op and fully recovered. For that to happen at 48 is extremely cruel!

Im so sorry you have to tell your children this devastating news.

not sure if you’re religious at all but sending love and prayers ❤️

Bonkersdogmum · 15/05/2025 20:37

I’m so sorry xxx
