I really feel for cassie, heavily pregnant and reliving all that horrible stuff she went through.

its insane that people are on HIS side with the amount of evidence they have. I suspect that these people are somehow involved too and don’t want to be outed.

I feel for Cassie, deeply. To be forced to endure this cycle of abuse for so long is awful.

Hes looking at life in prision so fingers crossed.

The podcast on BBC Sounds is good, especially the American lawyer who explained everything so well. However, the reports from the court this week sound so grim and seedy.

Agreed it's so awful and so grim...but somehow i can't look away.

I actually feel happy seeing Cassie pregnant and happy with someone else. At least she finally managed to get away from him. Horrible she's having to do it now immediately before the birth of her child though.

But I do wonder who's next though - there's a not well known producer called Birdman, who's worked with a lot of artists, who i think has abused boys. I fell down a rabbit hole about a decade ago, goggling him. Let's see if he'll be sent to prison.

I’m in my 20s and when I was at school, Cassie was posted on social media a lot. She was heralded as being the beauty standard/ something to aspire to in that sense. Her music was always seen as secondary to her looks. I also recall her being seen as a side chick of Diddy ie something lesser than his wife/life partner.

I also had an older brother who was pissed off with me being interested in celebrity culture, - he said these women just use sex to get famous. I thought it was a sexist/gross thing to say at the time.

It’s so weird looking back at these childhood experiences now cause in a way my brother was right…but in the worst way possible. Diddy was essentially pimping her out, Cassie would put on a facade for the public and kids my age completely bought into it. It’s crazy to consider she was addicted to various drugs as you couldn’t tell at all from her glamorous appearance & lifestyle.

I’m going to go against the grain here and say I don’t think the prosecution have enough evidence to convict based on what we have seen from Cassie so far. The government trial is for sex trafficking, not domestic violence. She definitely has given evidence of domestic violence and of controlling behaviour- but I’m not sure if what she has discussed is outright sex trafficking?

But this is where the other victims will strengthen the case. Apparently one of the other victims has disappeared?

I think with Cassie, Diddy will try to say they had an extreme sex life but ultimately they were in a relationship and no sex trafficking was involved. His solicitor in cross examination will likely suggest that what happened was consensual or that her version of events is wrong because of her drug usage. There’s definitely areas that I think they’ll attack of her evidence. Like she did things to get his appeasement but they can twist that to say she did it out of her own free will.

Also one more thing - I am shocked at how this man really controlled every aspect of cassie’s life. Going back to where I said people in school thought Cassie’s music was secondary to her looks or that she is a side chick…this is likely what Diddy wanted to instill into the public about her.

He completely destroyed her music career, he had all the resources to make her a sensation if he wanted to. Instead looking back her music seems a bit low budget and everything was focused heavily on sex but not in a super commercial way. Like in the Me & U video she’s pouring baby oil on herself and given what we now know, just seems like Diddy leaving Easter eggs about the abuse.

I was looking for a thread, glad I found you. That man is one warped individual. I am very invested in the case & hope he is found guilty. We all know that he is an abuser but it will be interesting to see how the prosecution can prove that he's guilty of trafficking.

Why are his kids in court. Whatever the outcome surely they don't need to hear it... and surely any dad protecting their children would insist they stay away.

The silence of Jayz , Beyonce , JLo etc is absolutely deafening. He obviously has something on all of them..the judge wouldn't let him out on bail as he's too much of a "flight risk". He also tried to intimidate witnesses using three way calls from prison. His prison conditions have been labelled as 'horrific' according to his lawyers. And his hair and beard have gone grey as he's not allowed to dye them.

Optics. It’s that simple. His legal team are wanting him to come across as a stand-up guy, a family man.

Humans (judge/jury) are susceptible to these things influencing their perspective.

His kids likely want to come too. Their dad being found not guilty will likely lead to their lives getting back to “normal”.

Additionally his sons have both been accused of sex crimes publicly where the accusers said Diddy covered it up and exposed them to escorts, drugs, violence etc. If Diddy is found guilty it likely has knock on ramifications to his son’s legal issues too.

Plus a portion of his kids have the same mother who died…if he’s found guilty of sex trafficking and violence/threats to kill, it means their kids may have to face up to his dad being abusive towards their mother.

It depends on how US law defines trafficking, here if you move someone from one location to another, organise or arrange that movement with the intention of exploitation its trafficking. The definition may be different in the US but from what I’ve read his behaviour would meet the definition here.

I’m struggling to understand a lot of it. Is the trafficking to do with bringing sex workers from other states for these freak offs?

Jay z recently had that thing didn’t he with that women accusing him of raping her alongside diddy but apparently she said she was lying, that all seemed abit dodgy

I think that they must have fingers in alot of pies so no law firm can really go against him yet - sort of like Harvey weinstein did
