Are there any previous Eurovision songs you still listen to?

I was just having a browse through the thread about how bad our entry is this year (and it is!) and it got me thinking about how even though Eurovision is a cheese fest it has produced some brilliant songs in it's time.
The following alone all feature on my Spotify playlist:

Euphoria by Lorren
Only Teardrops by Emilie De Forest
Ooh AHH Just a Little by Gina G
Love Shine a Light by Katrina and the Waves
Eg A Life by Eythor Ingi.

Anyone else got any Eurovision bangers they can recommend?

Eh? That wasn’t a Eurovision song😅

Thought I was losing it for a second as surely I'd remember that!

Dana - All kinds of everything. Ireland 1970.
Brotherhood of man - kisses for me. 1976. It might be just for the dance though.

Sam Ryder and Daði Freyr. Not just their European songs, lots of their stuff. Saw Sam Ryder live too, although sadly never been to Eurovision.

The earworm stuck in my head is now My lovely Horse, thanks to this thread. Although I don't claim to listen to it often!

All the things she said - Tatu (Russia)
Kedvesen - Bye Alex (Hungary - didn't even win, but it's such a lovely song)

Tatu wasn't a Eurovision song

Tatu wasn't a Eurovision song

All The Things She Said wasn't a Eurovision song but Tatu did compete in it. They seemed to be everywhere for a while and then suddenly vanish.

Lordi- Hard Rock Hallelujah. Best Eurovision song ever. I’ve seen Lordi live multiple times, great band.

I still enjoy 2024 Croatia’s Baby Lasagna song too.

BeaLola · 14/05/2025 01:43

Abba Waterloo
Johnny Logan's entries
Spaceman
Dana

But brotherhood of man my favourite - I'm remember doing the dance in the playground

Mum23plusC · 14/05/2025 18:13

Way back in the early 80s (i think) Milk & Honey sang Hallelujah. They may have won I can't remember but I loved that cheesy song so much it's still in my singles collection 😂
As is (from 1984) our UK entry Love Games by Belle & the Devotions.

I must have o.d'd on cheese because i can't bear to watch the programme now!!

CommonAsMucklowe · 14/05/2025 18:46

Absolutely love Daði Freyr - 10 years and Teya & Selena - Who The Hell Is Edgar, both from 2023 which was one of the best Eurovision ever (IMO).

I’ve got an entire Spotify playlist of my Eurovision favourites! I do particularly like Discoteque by The Roop

Thank you! Me too it's catchy as heck!

I also really like Lights Off by We are Domi which did terribly a few years ago but I listen to it quite often!

My Lovely Horse. Father Ted Crilly and Father Dougal Maguire, Craggy Island for Eurosong.

Me too

VaddaABeetch · 14/05/2025 19:15

Johnnny Logan is the only person to win Eurovision 3 times.
What’s another year
Hold me now.
He wrote Why me for Linda Martin that won.
He came 4th with terminal 3 also for Linda Martin

Verka Serduchka from Ukraine. The 2007 winners for Dancing Lasha Tumbai.

So, only the best Eurovision entry ever

And this year's Estonian entry (Latte Machiatto by Tommy Cash) is a complete ear-worm!

I love it!

SGJ · 14/05/2025 20:28

An adorable song from Malta in 2013 called Tomorrow - worth a listen! A little bit Jack Johnson, the guy was a doctor in his day job and just looked so ridiculously happy to be there.

ilovepixie · 14/05/2025 20:45

Cliff Richard
Dana
Jonny logan
Bucks fizz
Gina G
Katrina and the Waves
ABBA

Rim tim tagi dim from last year. Baby Lasagna should have won it and I won't hear different. 😅

Totally agree. Still play it, still gives me goosebumps when he says "Dance with me, Europe".

Krest · 14/05/2025 20:56

I always listen to Making your mind up - Bucks Fizz. Also have Love Shine a light (last uk winner, Katrina and the waves) on my playlist and the Ukraine entry last year

SwedishEdith · 14/05/2025 20:59

nokidshere · 13/05/2025 19:56

Tu te reconnaîtras”, was my absolute favourite even though I was only a child at the time - early 70s I think 🤔

Anne Marie David. Luxembourg won twice in the early 70s. Vicky Leandros's Come What May is a brilliant song.

FuckityFux · 14/05/2025 21:00

The Riverdance performance in the 90’s was superb and of course, Waterloo. I haven’t watched Eurovision for over 20 yrs as it’s just awful mediocre shite. 🤣

BnmLK · 14/05/2025 21:17

Cezar - It's my life
