Going to an event I can't get out of which is compulsory superhero fancy dress. I'm a size 18 with huge norks FFS!

Please help me mumsnet 🙏

if you don't want to go, I'm loving the invisible woman ideas.

Or just buy a pair of whitey tighties and a red cape and go as Captain Underpants.

Or even easier, all in brown if you have it, cape and mask.. Supertato . Grab a bag of frozen peas if you're feeling extra adventurous.

Cat woman. Wear an all black outfit of your choice and accessorise with ears/long gloves/mask etc.

You don't have to be aiming to win a prize for best costume, wear something you are comfortable in that just about ticks the box to show you've followed the brief.

Buy a superman t-shirt with just the big logo on it and a pair of dark rimmed fake glasses (or wear your own if you have them).

Put on a suit or smarter workwear over the top including a blouse, but leave the buttons on the blouse undone.

When anyone asks you who you are, whip off the glasses, pull open the shirt so they can see the t-shirt and say superman/girl depending on what you feel like answering.

Make a supertato sandwich board and wear over black jeans and a top? Add a cape and a mask and you are all set. Took about 45 mins to make when I did for kids with some felt, card and brown paper
