Ok, thanks for filling me in. I really need to catch up on everything! The SEN stuff makes my blood boil.
I knew they'd be bad in government, but even I'm surprised at how bad they actually are.

Even worse, they aren't exempting the 110 000 kids with SEN in independent school from VAT so those are the ones being forced back into state mainstream. They are the most vulnerable to change and majority ended up in independent schools because of the SEN crisis in state eg 2 years + to get EHCPs.

I despise this incarnation of Labour and the wider electorate are slowly waking up to that. We are rural so also understand the Farming Tax policy which is equally as devastating for those impacted.

TheNuthatch · 17/03/2025 19:35

Thanks twisty, they make me sick. I have a dd who has SEN.

I may have remembered this wrong, but wasn't private schools vat an Angela Rayner policy? From back when she was shadow education sec under Corbyn. Maybe Phillipson is being used as a useful idiot.

BP tops the list for me purely for VAT but very closely followed by RR, KS and WS.

What's wrong with WS?

Yes it is an ideological policy of this band of frauds. So don't let them persuade you it has anything to do with improving state schools. It's pretty much because BP and RR have massive chips on their shoulders. BP has never worked in her life, other than at her mum's charity. She is a career politician so all this "WC" image is bollocks.

Parsley1234 · 17/03/2025 19:38

Bloody chippy basterds the lot of them Rayner level 2 social care Phillipson and Reeves more chip even though they got to Oxford they still have to prove a bloody point. I too @TheNuthatch cznnit comprehend how divisive and damaging they are.

Have you read any of his historic tweets?? Misogynistic and violent tweets against political opponents?

EasternStandard · 17/03/2025 19:40

Parsley1234 · 17/03/2025 19:24

@twistyizzy god what a précis !!!! I heard mutterings about SEN provision but didn’t take much notice jeez she’s an absolute piece of work I despise that LEGO head as much as Reeves close runner Rayner Starmer lamy

Yep they’re my top annoying ones too.

@twistyizzy interesting to hear about The Guardian. Good, Labour deserve it.

I’m side swiping their irritating coalition / troops nonsense. It’s all distraction for the polls. Starmer preferred when he got the warmongering bump. Still, a bit concerning.

Parsley1234 · 17/03/2025 19:40

@twistyizzy whst did he say ?
I bloody forgot that dipdo BP has never had a proper job except at her mums charity 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I mean there's a long list of homophobic, misogynistic crap he has previously spouted (will excuse him the ones about Donald Trump) but there again none of Labour’s tweets age well eg KS saying Labour will never cut WFA/raise council tax/support WASPI women etc.
Party over country once in power.......oh hang on wasn't that a tweet too "we will never put party over country".

Upstartled · 17/03/2025 19:44

Am I being dense - why is it being called a green paper when it is, to all effect, a done deal - with Reeves mopping it up and whittling it in to economic policy just a week later?

Parsley1234 · 17/03/2025 19:44

Hod they have talked a load of old crap haven’t they

EasternStandard · 17/03/2025 19:50

Yeh the ‘green paper’ stuff is a nonsense. As if it’s something gently descending on the electorate rather than charging into everyone, due to wiping out £9bn funding.

Upstartled · 17/03/2025 19:51

I'm not surprised the Guardian are wild, Labour have been very, 'Hold my beer', with regard to austerity efficiencies since getting in to power.

Right? Maybe it identifies as a white paper?

@twistyizzy is there a link to Bp SEN statement ? I bloody hope that the vat gets kicked out in its ass and they have to eat humble pie but they won’t they are the most unbelievable group

Upstartled · 17/03/2025 20:14

It doesn't even make sense. The VAT charges on school fees were supposed to pay for breakfast clubs. But the alloted funding for breakfast clubs is so little that schools are saying that it is unworkable. It seems so badly thought through on both sides.

This is in context of cuts of 1.4B in education budget to fund public sector payrises.
Fundamentally, by forcing more SEN into mainstream means they can shut majority of the highly expensive specialist SEN schools. Chuck a small % uplift on SEN per pupil funding but ultimately leave it up to mainstream schools and make them accountable. You have to look at what they are NOT saying here! Many SEN charities are extremely worried about this.

Bridget Phillipson: parents must ‘think differently’ on Send support for children

Education secretary says England’s special needs system has not delivered, as school leaders say it is on brink of collapse

@twistyizzy thank you what a total mess those poor kids pushed into mainstream those poor kids having to navigate a total disaster parents jeez

What about the comments in the post you are responding to? Rachel from accounts? Bridget from the chazza? Is that not misogynistic crap? I would say so.

I don't think it's misogynistic at all. Its nothing to do with their sex. If that's the labels they end up with, I'd say they'd got off lightly.

@TheNuthatch got off lightly 🤣🤣🤣🤣bloody hell not only lightly the fact that those weasels have the jobs they do is a miracle in itself. @GrizzlyHairBear its not misogynistic and yes Starmer is a gay sadly unbelievable as one wd think he wd be slightly more interesting and better turned out

By all means criticise them at an intelligent level. I have lots of criticisms of them, However these nasty belittling labels with undertones of them bring little women getting above their station is just tawdry and smacks of trashy media brainwashing.
