We had vegetarian burgers, chips and Caesar salad. What about you?

I made this shwawma thing I saw on Instagram. I even made my own spice mix. Was fucking rank. So I had a piece of caramel shortbread and that cheered me up.

I buy the shawarma mix or paste (I think the mix is better). It always turns out good (I don’t think I’d bother making my own to be honest).

It's lovely and the children love it too. Just Google Jamie Oliver cabbage pasta. Enjoy!

I have already googled 😁 I’m going to make it, it’s the kind of dish we’d like.

Pistachio pesto 'shakshuka' with peas, broad beans and edamame plus very cheesy garlic ciabatta.

TomatoSandwiches · 06/02/2025 21:24

A cup of pea soup and the leftover of buttered tomato pasta, it was very nice.

BallerinaFall · 06/02/2025 21:24

PerambulationFrustration · 06/02/2025 21:28

Meatball pasta bake 😋

chocciebiscuits · 06/02/2025 21:41

I love a food thread! I made Toad in the hole (taming twins foolproof recipe) which I can't recommend enough, mash with lots of cheese and butter added, peas broccoli and onion gravy. One meal that everyone likes which is rare!

Gilead · 06/02/2025 21:43

Half a veggie pizza and salad.

Why are you ashamed? It's just food.

I spent 50 years of my life being ashamed of having a normal person's appetite in the face of two parents with severe food issues.

It's food. It's nourishing. You deserve to be nourished.

Mainly because there wasn't a vegetable in sight and I know if I keep eating like I'm eating this week I'll feel bleugh. It was delicious though to be fair!

Christmas roast with all the trimmings followed by Christmas pudding.

We have had Christmas Day today as we missed it in December.

mathanxiety · 06/02/2025 22:01

It's not yet dinnertime here, but we're having chili with minced turkey, black beans, and corn.

Justhere65 · 06/02/2025 22:03

I made aubergine curry and an apple stewed with cinnamon for dessert. I’m on the HB diet.

Penne with mushrooms, spinach, pine nuts, smoked salmon and mascarpone.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 06/02/2025 22:29

Chicken and leek pie, mashed potatoes, and peas. None of it home-made.

I’d love a Chinese right now!

Homemade chicken biriyani with side salad and some chicken pakoras on the side

JudgeBread · 06/02/2025 22:43

I'm alone tonight so made all the things I love and husband hates, so they don't go really together much but I had a good time.

Honey mustard charred cabbage, Vietnamese tomato egg drop soup, Ca kho to (catfish in a caramelised salty sauce), spicy rice, and stuffed grape leaves.

Tisfortired · 06/02/2025 22:46

Homemade leek and potato (with extra veg chucked in too) soup, with buttered bread and Tesco finest beef dripping chips 🤤 so good. We have leftovers for lunch tomorrow and then dinner tomorrow is Chinese takeaway which we haven’t had for ages but we are celebrating (kind of.)

Getting lots of good meal ideas here!

BondStreet · 06/02/2025 22:48

Homemade chicken balti, cauliflower rice and chapatis

Snugglemonkey · 06/02/2025 22:54

Chilli dogs- hotdogs topped with chilli, cheese, crispy onions, jalapeños, but just in bits, so people made their own. Coleslaw and corn on the cob. Also, I did some rice for those who just wanted chilli. Everyone helped themselves (except the baby who I cooled some corn, chilli and rice for)

AdaColeman · 06/02/2025 23:02

Salmon en croute with watercress sauce, with Jaffa cakes for pudding. All lovely!
