Just watched his press conference in absolute disbelief. He's just blamed the air traffic controllers as apparently under the Biden administration they recruited people into the role who weren't intellectually capable. He actually blames diversity criteria and basically box ticking.... 'hiring people with severe intellectual and psychiatric disabilities' - that's a direct quote.

As someone with ASD, anxiety and depression who works in a high level, highly skilled role, I am angry on behalf of anyone like me.

The man is a dangerous liar.

I hope we can all agree that Trump in his address to the nation about the tragedy should never have included politics and speculation. Nor should Sean Duffy, Transportation Secretary, have concluded the morning briefing in the way he did.

Conclusion after Trump's speech is that any future disasters, and there will be more, climate change - floods, fires, tornadoes, will all be blamed on past administration and DEI.

I know this is a serious subject and it's absolutely no laughing matter - but visions of the crappy voice change thing they use on gameshows when they're trying to disguise a celebrity's identity being used in interviews really entertained me 😂

I used to find it really tedious interviewing candidates for the whole day so this would have been amazing 😂😂

I am disgusted at Trump's response. He is using this terrible tragedy as a weapon in his culture wars. He is oblivious to facts and basic human decency and that is going to make life even more difficult for the loved ones of the victims in the already unbearable times ahead.

Oh and RIP to those who tragically died. The grief is unimaginable.

And if it turns out the fault lies with the helicopter pilots who apparently can’t spot a plane they are flying directly towards, despite being warned about it, will he be as vitriolic towards the US military? Or would he decide pissing his armed forces off might be politically inexpedient?

Yes the list is extensive. But they still had to meet all the requirements of the job, not just turn up with a Dr's certificate to say they have such and such a disability. That's not how diversity hire works.

Now this is a word I learned from US colleagues and was coming on here to say.

As stated several times now. People asked where he got it from. I stated this is where he got it from.

It was all over the media for about a week about a year ago. I never watch Fox news, and they weren't the source for what I saw at the time.

I'm not sure how many more times I can explain what happened, at the time.

The inference that this was caused (by Trump!!) by an inexperienced, unqualified and unsuitable person of diversity (woman, man, gay person, person with dwarfism, autism etc) is so incredibly offensive I don't know where to start with it.
