I can't swim because I sink. I can't crochet.

dollymixedup · 23/01/2025 13:10

Walk with an open umbrella.

Lovelybitofsquirrel3 · 23/01/2025 13:10

Stressheadshouldbeinbed · 23/01/2025 13:17

Gargle

Jimmyneutronsforehead · 23/01/2025 13:20

Go for a piss alone apparently 👩‍👦

Ihopeithinkiknow · 23/01/2025 13:22

I can't drive lol well I can get in a car and drive it and I even mastered the gears perfectly over the 40 plus driving lessons I had a few years ago but after a bit it's like I zone out and I'm watching someone else drive which obviously isn't good lol, I have got ADHD though and I think my brain just gets overwhelmed and freezes so I sacked that off.
Can't open corned beef with those little keys on the side at all, can't seem to listen to a whole song without skipping it to the next one, I'm absolutely dog shit at maths and can't draw to save my life and I'm gonna stop now because it's gonna be a long list haha

billycat321 · 23/01/2025 13:23

I can't pick up a hen, even a dead one. (Kept them for 30years until a fox killed the last lot). If I found one dead on the ground that had succumbed to old age I had to use shovel to pick it up and toss it over the hedge. Not a problem shared by most mumsnetters, I think!

stayathomer · 23/01/2025 13:25

Cycle properly and cook (unfortunately!) Been trying to learn both since I was a child!!!

Ihopeyouhavent · 23/01/2025 13:25

I cant, drive, swim or ride a bike.😳

Echobelly · 23/01/2025 13:28

Ride a bike. I briefly learned in my late 20s but I am now definite proof that you can forget how to ride a bike

MellowAfternoon · 23/01/2025 13:30

Swallow pills, I always get them stuck in my throat. I have tried various ways to get them down but they always fail. I have to crush most tablets or get a liquid version.

Zimunya · 23/01/2025 13:31

Put on mascara. I grew with a single parent - my Dad. I can do lots of other things (change a flat tyre, shoot straight) but make-up is a mystery!

EggandStress · 23/01/2025 12:33

Don't know how old you are but I used to be like this. Since reaching my 50s it doesn't appear to be a problem anymore Blush

Same here. I never belched at all when I was younger but since hitting my 50's I can burp for England. Sometimes wonder where the heck all that gas comes from.

RedLightsStopSigns · 23/01/2025 13:33

I can’t blow-dry or style my own hair to look decent. I’m a hairdresser 🤣 (I hasten to add I can make other people’s hair look fabulous 😁)

PrawnofthePatriarchy · 23/01/2025 13:34

Drive.

lopyrs · 23/01/2025 13:35

I can't do up my bra from behind. I have to do it at the front and rotate it around to the back. I've always done it this way, and when I try to do it the grown up way I just can't 😩

TickingAlongNicely · 23/01/2025 12:23

Remember where I left the car. This amuses my children.

I end up taking a photo of the car on my phone these days... 😣

catlesslady · 23/01/2025 13:37

Signal when riding a bike. I can ride reasonably well with both hands on the handlebars but if I take one hand off to try to signal I swerve and/or fall off. Many friends/family members etc have tried to teach me over the last 40 odd years but all have failed. I live near to some wonderful off-road cycle trails so I stick to them but it is rather embarrassing when people ask me to join them on a 'proper' bike ride and I have to admit that despite being a) able to ride a bike and b) a perfectly competent car driver, I am not safe to cycle on a road.

TishHope · 23/01/2025 13:41

Apply makeup really well.

KatharineClimpson · 23/01/2025 13:43

Drive
Do a forward roll ( this seemed to matter a lot in school, but now I am in my sixties not one bit)
Do anything artistic with my hair, I'd love to be able to have a messy bun, but sadly not.

It's the driving thing that has really bothered me, I've really tried, taken three tests and oodles of lessons, but I have no filter for hazards, everything seems dangerous to me...I do wonder if I am in some way neurodivergent ( I have two sons with autism, one with ADHD)

soberserene · 23/01/2025 13:44

SharpOpalNewt · 23/01/2025 12:32

I wouldn't be able to rewire a plug or put oil in the car, or put a shelf up, as I've never had to, but I'm sure I could learn if I had to.

I can braid hair but only a basic plait or French plait.

Putting oil in the car is not difficult. You just unscrew a cap and put it in.

soberserene · 23/01/2025 13:45

I can't say "phenomenal" if I think about it.

Mrsdyna · 23/01/2025 13:46

I can do most things, but if I have an audience, I can mess up lots of things 😂

NewYearNewName2025 · 23/01/2025 13:47

Kneel (dicky knee following surgery). Would love to do a pilates or yoga class but would get stuck on the floor!

flapjackfairy · 23/01/2025 13:49

make Yorkshire puds
