What is the most miserable biscuit in existence?

DH and I are not eating sweet stuff for January and today he commented that he was so fed up with it he would even want to eat a really crap biscuit, so we were debating what that would be.

He reckoned the worst biscuit would be a Nice biscuit, but I think I would much rather eat one of those than a Garibaldi.

Is there a biscuit even more disappointing, that you would be less likely to accept an offer of than a Garibaldi biscuit?

Lincoln. Only the bobbles make it acceptable on the planet. That or lemon bastard puffs or those pink wafer things that are like something you would throw in a cement mixer to add fibres for strength to mortar in a car park - sheesh!

Nasty.

I don't like garibaldi's either. Jaffa Cakes have no place in a biscuit tin. I actually really dislike Oreo's. My kids love them and think they're grim.

Rich Tea.

I'm appalled that Nice are on your poll. They are like crack. You think you don't want them and then just one and....boom!

Hobknobs or Digestives. It’s the texture I can’t get on board with.

a rich tea is also pretty dull but definitely preferable to a digestive.

strangeandfamiliar · 18/01/2025 13:09

Those circular or rectangular shortbread 'shortie' biscuits ( not the proper butter finger ones.) In fact anything from one of those big old-fashioned 'tea time selection' packs where all the flavours meld together and taste of cupboard.

HeadNorth · 18/01/2025 13:09

I'm rather partial to a Garibaldi. Rich tea have no redeeming features.

WonderingWanda · 18/01/2025 13:09

Nope, I take it back. Fig Rolls are the worst thing ever 🤮

Now see, I love a Fig Roll. I'm very partial to dates.

Rich Tea. Or a dull flavourless cracker which isn't even meant to be sweet but isn't savoury either.

I don't remember Nice being coconut, I thought they were sugar on top?

Sugar on top but I'm sure they've got coconut in them.

Custard cream.

Lemon bastard puffs 🤣

DreamSpaceships · 18/01/2025 13:11

I really dislike custard creams and jammy dodgers

WellsAndThistles · 18/01/2025 13:11

Maybe only available in Scotland but Abernethy biscuits are soul destroyingly boring.

I quite like a Garibaldi for a car snack or picnic as they are sturdy enough to pop in my handbag.

Geranium1984 · 18/01/2025 13:11

Plain digestive, so dry!

Love garabaldi rich tea and nice with a cuppa x
Tim tams are the best 👌

Gustavo1 · 18/01/2025 13:11

Oh I love a garibaldi and a fig roll. Always used to have them at my grandmas so have fond flavour memories.

I'm another one voting for rich tea. The rounded oblong shaped ones are the worst. I’m baffled as to why the worst biscuit in existence needs to exist in two forms!!

strangeandfamiliar · 18/01/2025 13:11

Also hate fig rolls. Work of the devil - like a Lincoln biscuit (bleurgh) wrapped around a gritty medicinal paste.

Berlinlover · 18/01/2025 13:11

Needmorelego · 18/01/2025 13:06

Nice biscuits should be sued for false advertising with their name 😂
Yeah rich tea are boring. Them pink wafer things are tasteless and go stale 4 seconds after you open the packet.
Malted Milk are pretty crappy.

I always thought Nice biscuits were pronounced the same as the city in France.

WonderingWanda · 18/01/2025 13:12

I love a fresh date but I think dried dates are very overpowering and a funny texture. Also fig rolls are always a bit soft and not biscuity enough for me.

I have never got on board with the Oreo at all. Hard(well ish), sickening and underwhelming. Leave me very unsatisfied.

Had hopes for the peanut butter one but no. Just marginally less shit than the others. DS17 loves them but he's a fool.

WellsAndThistles · 18/01/2025 13:12

Can I add figrolls to the list, mainly as they generally have minced up wasps in them 🤢

ODFOx · 18/01/2025 13:12

@HeadNorth

and figs, presumably.

Chasingaces · 18/01/2025 13:12

Bourbons are horrid

Berlinlover · 18/01/2025 13:13

Fig rolls remind me of waxy ears.

Neolara · 18/01/2025 13:13

Macaroons

SnowyIcySnow · 18/01/2025 13:13

I reckon I'm going to be in the minority here, but a hobnob.
