The reaction of disgust and, in my case, unadulterated rage, is nothing to do with slut shaming and that's an overly simplistic view to take. This isn't about a woman consensually, enthusiastically having sex with men for her own enjoyment. This is about a woman putting herself at significant risk and publicising her own exploitation and the degradation of her body for financial gain and fame, regardless of the consequences.
There is nothing empowering or 'feminist' about treating a woman's body (even if it's your own) as a commodity/object to be sold, used or abused. Men have done that since time memoriam and just because some women are now 'consenting' and financially benefiting from it does not make it a feminist act. It just makes them complicit in their own objectification. 'Choice feminism', IMO isn't feminism at all. It's handmaiden bullshit.
This is not sex positivity in any sense, it is reinforcing the idea that a woman's body is there to be used and abused by men. She also openly admitted that safe sex practices were disregarded a number of times, by a number of different men. These anonymous, balaclava wearing men who are now taking god knows what diseases back to their wives and girlfriends. That alone should be criminal.
As a woman, I do have some concern/empathy for her state of mind and the damage this will do to her in the long run but I am FAR more concerned about the damage she and the media who publicise it, are doing to 1000s of women. She is actively promoting harm and violence against women and is, on the face of it, proud of that. It is morally repugnant. There are women who are trafficked, abused, exploited and murdered every single day - they are the majority of women who make up 'sex work' trade. This isnt a casual, lighthearted topic to giggle about on podcasts as she boasts about the money she's made while young, impressionable girls and women watch along. That is where I lose ANY sense of care or sympathy for this woman.
The men involved are vile, disgusting pigs. No newsflash there.
