Your 'old lady' habits/tastes ;)

Do you like footspa? Have a crush on Alan Titchmarsh?

I'm 47 and I like to get Kriss Kross puzzle books when I go on holiday, I think their main market is the over 70s. I also like Fenjal bubble bath which I'm sure is rather an old lady thing.

Old ladies also welcome to add their old lady habits too! 😁

Love my Skechers sandals, shopping trolley and retired husband. And a nanna nap in the afternoon on the weekend.

Theresacatinmykitchenwhatamigonnado · 16/01/2025 19:03

I use lavender drawer liners.

ssd · 16/01/2025 19:04

I bloody love Alan Titchmarsh at the weekend.

Proper slippers that enclose the whole foot.
A nice cardigan.
A nice sit down.

@MrsMoastyToasty

A nice sit down made me chuckle 🤣

Frostine · 16/01/2025 19:05

Go to bed at 10pm with an electric blanket.

Prefer to have a bath in the winter , showers are for spring/ summer.

Don't drive at night because oncoming lights are too bright .

AlmostCutMyHairToday · 16/01/2025 19:06

I don't like noisy restaurants

theotherplace · 16/01/2025 19:07

Going to bed early
A good cup of tea
Being warm

Echobelly · 16/01/2025 19:07

My husband is the Badedas fan, but I like it too.

Thank you to everyone for taking this in the right spirit, I thought this thread could either go well on spiral into a rant about ageism! The joy of mumsnet....

I am addicted to Agatha Christie novels, have fluffy slippers, don’t understand quinoa and enjoy tutting at the behaviour of young persons.

I’m in my forties.

LaurieFairyCake · 16/01/2025 19:07

I use badedas and fenjal every day in the bath and have it on repeat monthly delivery from Amazon

I get up between 4-5 am every day

I'm a napper

I don't watch any reality tv, ever. Or game shows. Or daytime tv at all.

smallsilvercloud · 16/01/2025 19:07

I like staying In every evening and I no longer like alcohol, couldn't be more different than my youth!

Sourisblanche · 16/01/2025 19:08

I’ve given up all my large mugs and now prefer my tea in small china cups that I used to tease my nan for using.

Currently cradling a hot water bottle with a fluffy cover.

catin8oots · 16/01/2025 19:08

I like things for the house that are chicken shaped (anyone remember that thread from a million years ago?)

TaylorSwish · 16/01/2025 19:09

My entire house looks like an old ladies house and I love it.

NovemberMorn · 16/01/2025 19:09

I like the same lady things I used to like when I was a young lady...just not as often.

And this 😂

wheresmyshoe · 16/01/2025 19:12

Sketchers = foot bliss
Proper chairs with backs rather than stools or benches when out
Lavender bags in drawers
Obsessed with clothes brushes and lint rollers
Heard myself saying "they'll catch their death" about some young people out without coats
Moshulu slipper booties

Tisthedamnseason · 16/01/2025 19:12

I like to sit in bed (at about 8pm) knitting while listening to the latest episode of The Archers.

I'm only 32. I know lots of people knit but I learned from my grandma, who is now 95, so I associate it with much older women.

Stigsmother · 16/01/2025 19:14

Midsomer Murders and cats 🐈

ChipshopPickledEgg · 16/01/2025 19:14

I'm 36 and like a lot of what has been mentioned!
I'm currently enjoying a cup of tea from a tea cup with a saucer under my heated blanket.
Happy times.

FictionalCharacter · 16/01/2025 19:14

Wait wait wait, Badedas is an old lady thing? Why??

Tbh, I thought you’d get to 2 replies before someone complained you’re being ageist. 😂
