For the better, obviously.

Can be a thing, person, activity, place...anything really.

Mine is trig bagging. It's so much fun and gets you out there, to unexpected and unknown places.

What's yours?

I bought a shower squeegee after staying with friends and using theirs. Not only is it fun in a “When I’m cleaning windows” way but it saves us a fortune in Viakal (v hard water area). I probably need to get out more!

Oh gawd, this thread is sending me down an Lakeland rabbit hole, I can feel it coming on...

Flow Headset. For depression, it has worked magic for me. I was at the stage of feeling as though my whole life was swimming through cold sludge, although I counted my blessings and kept telling myself how lucky I was, I was just totally and utterly miserable. Had been through several antidepressants.

Since using it I've been happy, interested, content and looking forward, all things I haven't been able to do for years although I've gone through the motions of socialising and doing things with friends and family.

Flow Headset is being used by some NHS areas, it has amazing results for a high proportion of people. Since I started using it I have felt like me again. I have felt happy, I have looked forward to things in a way I thought I never could again.

What does it do? Sounds brill.

An instant pot! It's fantastic and saves me so much time and effort after a long day.

These!

yes x 1000 but don't use them when you make soup and then blend it with a stick blender unless you want shredded plastic with your leek and potato or indeed any other sort of soup! I did this and it was a disaster. However I love the liners for all the other stuff I make in my slow cooker

bigkahunaburger · 10/01/2025 19:35

my children becoming adults so i never ever have to speak to my dickhead of an ex again.

Please update on these.

I’ve been using these for just over a year and they’re so great! The food actually tastes nicer too as it’s not getting stuck to the side of the slow cooker. I found slow cooked food was always tasting the same but now I can taste the flavours! Plus the fact the slow cooker doesn’t have to soak for days now is a bonus!!!

bigkahunaburger · 10/01/2025 19:37

Oh and walking. Im the laziest bugger in the world and hate exercise. I always thought walking did nowt, but I just discovered that its quite the workout and I can do it without dying every day. Score.

@secondsoutthere what does the extra spin do? I'm going to try it!

CharityShopChic · 10/01/2025 19:42

Mine's similar to yours - geocaching. Started in lockdown when there was bugger all else to do and we have kept it up, more March - October than this time of year to be honest but it has taken us on so many interesting walks that we wouldn't have discovered otherwise.

Started carrying a single over the door hook in my coat pocket, so that if I'm in a public toilet with no hook on the door i can still hang up my coat and bag

Genius!

Omg no! 🤣

I only watched the first Bridget Jones film recently (yes, yes I know). This made me think of the blue soup incident.

I want a heated throw but Argos are sold out. Any good contenders? I think they will help me and DS go to sleep quicker.

My favourite thing over the last year has been sleep masks. I have one with a gel insert, which is comfy and a bit like a weighted blanket for the eyes, and building a collection via TK Maxx of these which are lightweight and rather lovely.

Also got DH a Panda pillow for Christmas and he really rates it.

Eye Mask Satin Navy Peacock

Their Nibs Ladies Nightwear Collection We all know the difference a good night’s sleep can make. But getting one? Well, that’s another matter. Which is why we’ve created our beautiful new eye masks. Made in our signature soft and soothing satin to rest...

Aircraft Powerglide mop. No more dragging the mop and bucket in from the outside store and filling it up.
Just switch on, and glide...

That is just the kind of anoraky hobby I enjoy and it looks like an excellent excuse to discover new bits of countryside. Thanks for the tip!

Try geocaching too.

Another vote for heated throw… life changing..

I love them but seemed to be cursed with buying rubbish ones, have had throw after throw fail and it is such a disappointment as in theory they are a wonderous thing. This winter i splashed out in one from Lakeland and it lasted all of a week. I got my money back and bought one from Amazon, it heats up in a patchy way and is disappointing. I have had one from Johm Lewis, packed in after a month, the replacement lasted a year which I wasn;t impressed with. Conversely my budget electric blanket has been a godsend for longer than I can remember.

Barney16 · 10/01/2025 19:51

Heated throw. Absolute bliss.

Agree on the pan drawers. We have all drawers from worktop down. So we have a tins drawer too.

Noe you're just showing off 😂
