For the better, obviously.

Can be a thing, person, activity, place...anything really.

Mine is trig bagging. It's so much fun and gets you out there, to unexpected and unknown places.

What's yours?

@rosemole wait til you’re in your 60’s and using a x20 illuminated one (and no my spec prescription isn’t a high one either)!

Or just use your hand beaters. Gives lovely smooth mash.

I put the potato in a sieve and push it through with a wooden spoon. No fuss washing up, or extras in the drawers.

tarmactreacle · 15/01/2025 06:28

@Differentstarts just ordered myself a roller! Thank you!

Trixiefirecracker · 15/01/2025 07:09

I’m struggling to see how a rice cooker and potato ricer etc can change one’s life? Really? Can it be that different from shoving it in a pan or pushing it through a sieve?

The rice cooker confusion again.

I can concede it may be helpful but ‘change your life?’ 😂😂😂

Maybe go back and read every page of the 28 page thread - Lots of posters explain why.

A mirror x10

yes x 10

its great for putting on eye makeup and plucking hairs. I had a very enjoyable hour this evening plucking eyebrows and otber stray hairs that have sprouted since hitting peri menopause

from Primark I think it was £3.50 well worth it

I have a x12 one from Boots. Its amazing for doing eyebrows.

My fourteen-year-old wrist injury has just flared up again.

Carrying pans across the kitchen to the sink to drain them isn't an option right now. Holding a pan in one hand whilst stirring it with the other isn't an option right now. Buttering toast isn't an option right now. Screwing a Huel mixer shut isn't an option right now. But I was able to make porridge with pumpkin seeds in it in my rice cooker, so I got to eat breakfast this morning.

I'd say that the difference between eating and going hungry is pretty life-changing.

Mrsredlipstick · 15/01/2025 18:39

My tefal dual air fryer changed my life. Newly disabled I bought one last easter. I don't have to bend down, it's easier to clean, quicker for most foods and energy cheap. I had dropped many a hot tray with serious results. I love the thing so much.

rosemole · 15/01/2025 20:59

I'm browsing x10 mirrors but I feel like I would terrify myself.

Add a scoop of washing powder, any kind and fill with warm water and leave several hours/overnight. The burnt on stuff and grot just rinses away. If there is still a bit remaining do the same again. No scrubbing required.

And I say all that but I cant lift my 6litre pot when it's full. So errr use the bags.

An alternative for cleaning burnt pots and pans is baking soda or salt. Salt works really well in my experience and it has the lowest cost. Cover the pan with a generous layer of salt and a little water; few hours later everything washes away.

Don't the pans transfer the scent of washing powder?

Love this idea. Also chucking water over the windscreen.

Your windscreen can burst, it doesn't have to but the risk is high. Frozen glass + hot water can lead to cracks.

rosemole · 15/01/2025 21:30

I've always used cold water and it's been fine. But yes, there is still a risk.

I can't see if anyone has already suggested it, but I find this really useful. (Hope this works as it's the first time I've tried shortening my very long links.)

I've been doing this using lukewarm water for 40 years. Never had a problem and never had to scrape a windscreen.

Well I rinse them out, but I use costcos own washing powder, not much of a scent. No one as yet has complained about a soapy smell or taste.

I wish people wouldn't use water because it can make icy patch on the road or pavement which are pretty dangerous.

Just do - I've recently bought a second for upstairs. It's been a total gamechanger (downstairs!). I know I could carry it upstairs but it doesn't happen.

Any recommendations as to which one is the better one?

FizzingAda · 23/01/2025 19:52

Thanks to the poster who recommended oodies. DH and I got one each last week, they are wonderful, so cosy. Had never heard of them before.

I've got a basic downstairs as it's just a big space so mapping wasted. I bought a £200 Eufy with laser mapping for upstairs.

Ohhmydays · 24/01/2025 20:33

I live in a four in a block so all rooms are on the same floor. Sure it was a eufy one i looked at getting

LonelyMom123 · 25/01/2025 12:34

Ours is eufy X10 Pro Omni Robot Vacuum Cleaner with mop. We got during the black Friday offers. It is the best thing we have bought in a long time.
