For the better, obviously.

Can be a thing, person, activity, place...anything really.

Mine is trig bagging. It's so much fun and gets you out there, to unexpected and unknown places.

What's yours?

This! I've just moved house and now have a pan drawer for the first time in my life!

I also bought slow cooker liners from Tesco during my recent trip to the UK - will be trying them out on Sunday!

Please update on these.

Ohshutupsimonyoutwat · 10/01/2025 18:00

Had it last year but my heated throw. I feel the cold badly and this has literally changed my life as now I'm comfy.

Chewbecca · 10/01/2025 18:00

I clicked on the trip bagging link and am still none the wiser!

I would say a best buy was a special suction tool that removes the kickboards from below the kitchen cupboards really simply, they just come right away on the tool.

Are the slow cooker liners single use plastic? Not very keen on that sadly.

Putting out clothes for me, eldest’s school clothes and baby’s change of clothes and nappy the night before. Having it out and organised has genuinly shed around 30 minutes off my morning chaos!

Put the clothes and coats on radiators as well - toasty warm in the winter!

The Radio Lento podcast. Nature sounds from around britain for relaxing, I love it.

letshavetea · 10/01/2025 18:02

Mounjaro. Complete game changer for me. No food noise and able to feel healthy and loose weight. I’m

That if you walk in a zig zag up a steep hill it is so much easier. I live up a very steep hill and I never get out of breath now.

I have to go up a hill, I’ll try that. I normally have to stop for a breather.

Agree on the pan drawers. We have all drawers from worktop down. So we have a tins drawer too.

I cannot wait to do this when I get my new kitchen. The only cupboards will be under the sink and a larder unit. Everything else will be drawers and, at that, USABLE drawers.

My kitchen is 3.5m x 3.5m but how many drawers do I currently have? THREE! And two of those are more style over substance as they're about 8 inches deep on the front, but the inside useable space is only about 3 inches deep. As a result everything slide off the back of them and is a total pain in the arse!

In terms of what I've discovered over the last year that has massively helped is meal planning.

We use HelloFresh for 3 meals per week and then I plan the other 4. We have so much less food wastage as a result and it's ended up saving us quite a bit of money, even accounting for the cost of HF.

I used to very much be a "what do I feel like" cook, but I actually quite enjoy planning and looking forward to each dinner now.

@Chewbecca It tells you if you click on the horizontal lines on the top right. In the ‘about us’ section.

PuppyMonkey · 10/01/2025 18:13

Another vote for heated throw… life changing..

Allatonce2024 · 10/01/2025 18:14

It's a bit lame but - I downloaded a Spanish radio app on my TV so it feels like I'm on holiday

Barabajagal · 10/01/2025 18:15

I bought a shower squeegee after staying with friends and using theirs. Not only is it fun in a “When I’m cleaning windows” way but it saves us a fortune in Viakal (v hard water area). I probably need to get out more!

May09Bump · 10/01/2025 18:15

We only have three traditional cupboards (glasses, utility/ under sink / appliance s) in the kitchen - the rest are drawers and pull out larder drawers which have lights in them - great move when designing.

Prepping anything to do with school run the night before.

Ordering all the Christmas bits the school requests in the Nov before and stick it in your calendar to remind, Christmas jumpers, tombola chocolate, teachers gifts and cards. Put it in a box and pull out when required.

Standby gifts and cards for parties for kids - wrapped and ready to add a card.

Heated blankets for everyone to warm bed before getting in - kids are getting to sleep faster,

Foot measure thingy for the kids - order all shoes online now.

You don't have to interact with family that do not respect you. Blood is not thicker than water,

A tabletop dishwasher - I'm disabled and struggle to stand, so used to have to wash pots in small bursts when I was able, but have a tiny kitchen, so no room for a normal one. This has absolutely been a life changer.

This. I absolutely love mine, totally changed my life!

I had a look at the link but I’m still none the wiser to what it is.

secondsoutthere · 10/01/2025 18:21

Mine are very lame:

A window vac for condensation.

A setting on the washing machine that gives an extra spin without an extra rinse. Learnt on here very recently Smile

secondsoutthere · 10/01/2025 18:23

Trig points are stones out in the countryside. You 'bag' them by running/hiking to see them.

clawmachine · 10/01/2025 18:25

Started carrying a single over the door hook in my coat pocket, so that if I'm in a public toilet with no hook on the door i can still hang up my coat and bag

eatreadsleeprepeat · 10/01/2025 18:26

Knitting, it is calming and productive and seems to bring me into contact with welcoming people.
Personal sound bar so I can turn the tv volume up and not have others complaining that it is too loud.
Rechargeable hand warmers.

SereneCapybara · 10/01/2025 18:26

ADHD medication. Aged 60 I finally never lose my keys, don't put things off for up to twenty five years (no exaggeration) and have the energy to get through each day without wanting to nap every hour. Tidying no longer overwhelms me, and I don't want to snack every five minutes. Wish I had tried it decades ago.

Thank you! I also looked at the website and was none the wiser.

Divorce 🤣

Absolutely this!! 😆🎉
And a heated milk frother (What took me so long… for both?).

VexedofVirginiaWater · 10/01/2025 18:29

I have a washable silicone slow cooker liner - yes you have to wash it, but it's easier to carry about than the heavy pot. In fact I have three - one is for the whole pot and the other is divided into two so you can cook two different things, They are reusable so less plastic waste. I put the lid in the dishwasher and drape the liner over it and it seems to wash fine. (Sorry about the long link.)

Do the tabletop dishwashers need to be plumbed in like the ordinary ones?

Audio books, love them whilst I'm doing the housework or exercising.
