For the better, obviously.

Can be a thing, person, activity, place...anything really.

Mine is trig bagging. It's so much fun and gets you out there, to unexpected and unknown places.

What's yours?

Hiya, yes, they get hot but not enough to burn. You can easily grip the bars without hurting yourself. The main danger for a three year old, I think, would be that mine strongly resembles a climbing frame with wheels, so from that perspective I think a three year old might find it a bit tempting to resist wrestling with.

Which one do you have ArielManto43? Is it important to have a cover too?

@SpoonyNavyGoose
When you say 'lifting weights' what do you actually do? I know how to use the machines and the small free weights and bench. I'm now incorporating that into my weekly routine but not sure how to make sure I'm making progress.
To whoever suggested hot water bottle on the dashboard to defrost windscreen- absolute genius. Did it this morning, worked a treat (and I had a hwb to keep me cosy as I drove!)

@CrowleyKitten That’s so lovely. Cats are the best aren’t they and if they love you back it’s magical. Enjoy him ❤️

Me and my husband recently switched to having two single duvets on our king sized bed, instead of a shared king sized duvet. This is something I read about that’s very common in Scandinavia. It works really well for couples like us who have very different duvet and sleeping temperature preferences, but also still want to share a bed. So we have each chosen our ideal duvet - thick and warm for him, and thin and cool for peri-menopausal me! It’s absolute bliss and has been a real game changer. We obviously had to buy some new single bedding sets as well but we got some brilliant ones from M & S - the duvet covers have zips instead of buttons which is also a game changer!

My spiritual life (NOT religious) has led to a liminal and dark night of the soul space, which whilst incredibly painful has been deeply transforming in whom I am and how i see myself

I agree with the drawers, had a new kitchen last year, no more shelves in ANY clipboard. Behind the cupboard door there are drawers, tins, crockery, spice drawer, jars, tea towels, absolutely everything is accessible. 👌

@CrowleyKitten wee ratties are the best. I've not had a pet rat for years for the same reason as you so I make do with feeding the outdoor ones. My neighbours will never find out 😂

I'm so pleased you've experienced the love of a cat, there's nothing like it ❤️

Weil's Disease.

Don't feed wild rats.

Elodie09 · 12/01/2025 13:13

@anwensmummy We do this too, it really works for us.
We had single duvets on our bed in a hotel at Copenhagen a few years ago and it seemed such a good idea.
You can often get really nice single size duvet covers in the sales and they are really easy to change, wash and dry despite having to do two of them!

The Radio Lento podcast. Nature sounds from around britain for relaxing, I love it.

Love this! A beautiful podcast.

that's so interesting, @keffie12 was not on my radar, at all. Thank you

I use these on hols under strappy sun dresses and at night in bed. Great for the large of Nork, so comfortable.

From Amazon.

FULIER Women's Bandeau Bra Sports Yoga Seamless Wireless Padded Strapless Bras

Are they really good for "the large of nork"?
The larger sizes just increase back size, not cup. I dont think thst 36D would work (sadly) for my 34H wonders. Pity.

APT · 12/01/2025 13:50

@Fam23 I always say slow cooker food has the same metallic taste. Using the liners stopped that.

My mother is obsessed with Temu. So many times she's said "I saw this on Temu and thought it might be of use..."

Is it easy to return stuff to temu @TigerRag ? I always get put off both shein and temu as I imagine they are difficult with returns and customer service ?

Appropriately enough from a brand called “Judge” 😁

Bang the lid on the counter.

Yes I use dumbbells for bench and also standing exercises, but also use a barbell for squats and lunges, and for deadlifts and overhead lifts. The key to progress is to start light and once you have the correct form and that weight becomes ‘easy’ gradually increase it until at, say the eighth rep, it becomes a lot harder to do. This weight, in time as you get stronger, will become easier … then increase again. This is progressive overload.
Any trained member of staff in your gym should help you with advice on what to do and the correct weights to start at.
i hope you enjoy it as much as I do! 🥰

Stephen Fry reading audiobooks. Listening to him read P. G. Wodehouse and Sherlock Holmes is pure bliss. Hot bath, glass of wine, and Stephen Fry…almost makes life worth living. 😀

As a wonderful side effect, Stephen Fry puts me almost instantly to sleep (sorry, Stephen!). If I put on an audiobook with Stephen reading it and get into bed...bye bye insomnia. I have no idea why, something about the timbre of his voice I think (nothing to do with the story at all).

I can't get my head around what that would look like-is it hard to make/keep the bed looking nice?

DH's parents get us to sleep in two single beds pushed together with two single duvets and I hate it-if we try to cuddle, we end up under the gap between the two duvets! Or do you have a sheet above you!

Rice cooker. Got given one for Christmas and it's made cooking rice so easy, particularly with two young children running round. Keeps it warm so even if I haven't got the timings on dinner right we still have perfect rice.

I second this! And the fact you can do more than just rice in it

KatharinaRosalie · 12/01/2025 17:52

Yes love our separate duvets. DH is a burrito sleeper, meaning he loves to wrap all duvet around him, and I'm a light sleeper, so whenever he tugs it, I wake up. So much better with 2 separate ones - and easier to change than a superking.

Magnesium supplements daily and Vitamin D.
After suffering debilitating, daily headaches for years, they are MUCH reduced. Also my sleep is so much better. Amazing!
The magnesium took a couple of months to work, but honestly, seems like a game changer.
I take a supplement with all three types of magnesium … which is pricey but was recommended as being high quality.

My Henry Quick - cordless, upright Henry which is much more portable. All other cordless vacuums have failed me but this is as good as the "normal" Henry with the added benefit of lightness. It has little scent pods which release a fragrance as you vacuum. Daft I know but it makes the process a tiny bit better.

I like the sound of the scent pods. We have a dog and I struggle with the vacuum recycling the doggy smell. Unfortunately we recently got a new cordless and went for a Bosch one. Should have got the Henry!

Ginmonkeyagain · 12/01/2025 18:37

Henry Quick's are 1000 times better than Dysons.

My life changer has been Pilates. Not sure what took me so long seeing as I have practised yoga and martial arts for years - but three months in, my lockdown induced persistent piriformis (lower back) pain is pretty much gone.
