Deep sbow here in Leeds and still snowing heavily.

PickAChew · 05/01/2025 08:14

Yep, it all sneakily happened overnight in the NE

Lots here now.
Woodhead and Snake passes are closed.

This time they closed Woodhead before the snow started because they didn't want to waste resources rescuing idiots.

BestZebbie · 05/01/2025 08:22

Technically there is laying snow in Cambridge, but I wouldn't get ready for a snowball fight! (A thin dusting on the top of some cars and the corners of some sheltered grass).

iolaus · 04/01/2025 20:55

We've got a dusting in Pontypridd

Mid wales here. Nothing at all. Just rain here.

Tumbleweed101 · 05/01/2025 08:25

Got some here in Suffolk even though we weren’t really in the zone to get any. Not sure how deep as only glanced out of window from bed!

curlycurlymoo · 05/01/2025 08:29

West Mids. Nothing worth talking about here. Was quite covering through the night but it's rained and now hardly anything.

East Lancs. Joy! Not.

Yep same in Bolton.

Justwantosay · 05/01/2025 08:43

We still have 3 inches on the ground since Wednesday but nothing new yet. (Lothians)

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 05/01/2025 08:55

There is snow in my home. Delivered overnight

fivebyfivebuffy · 05/01/2025 08:57

In an area of Lancashire that we never get snow, if we do it's a cm and then it rains so this was surprising!

So where’s all this snow we were warned about
bookworm14 · 05/01/2025 08:59

Just pissing down with rain in NW London 🙁

PuppyMonkey · 05/01/2025 09:02

Decent coveting overnight here in Derbyshire/Notts border but it’s turned to rain now and going alll sloppy. Roads are clear.

NewGreenDuck · 05/01/2025 09:13

Pouring down with rain on the Yorkshire coast. And windy.

YorkieTheRabbit · 05/01/2025 09:17

@Blackcat910 I’m a couple of miles from Holmfirth, plenty here too.
Very little traffic around, snowplough came past at 6.30 this morning. There’s just been a car struggling to get up the hill, revving and sliding back down.

RainbowWhy · 05/01/2025 09:19

The photos on here are a lot more impressive than the ones on the BBC website. No snow where I am, just rain (East Anglia).

We live on a main road, blessing in disguise was my baby sleeping in until 9am because there is no traffic!

Hedjwitch · 05/01/2025 09:31

Faintest sprinkle here in Fife.

yohohoCrimbo · 05/01/2025 09:36

Still damp and fucking snowless here in Swansea.

RampantIvy · 05/01/2025 09:47

I'm near Penistone and we have 5 inches of snow.

VegTrug · 05/01/2025 09:47

6-8 inches here in North Yorkshire and it's still snowing!

So where’s all this snow we were warned about
Zoopet · 05/01/2025 09:52

Snowing in coastal North Yorkshire.

VegTrug · 05/01/2025 09:53

@Sheknowsaboutme Airports have guidelines as to when & why runways closed. It costs hundreds of thousands of pounds, if not millions, in fees to airlines (& passengers) in order to delay flights. It's not a decision taken lightly. It is only done if there is evidence of ice or above a certain level of snow. You need to educate yourself!

VegTrug · 05/01/2025 09:55

@Sheknowsaboutme Airports are also closed when the weather reduces visibility below a certain level, making it impossible for aircraft to land!
