We get about 85 inches of snow each year. Before my time year, in 1998 Canada had the storm of a lifetime with ice being the major problem. My in laws remember it well.

I didn’t realise you lived in Vancouver. I was just saying that even cities used to snow can be caught out!

Guavafish1 · 04/01/2025 20:03

Snowing in beacon’s

I’m in Montreal but love Vancouver! Snow is fine, ice is the problem.

EveryOtherNameTaken · 04/01/2025 20:04

Said snow in London but it's raining of course 🥱

emmax1980 · 04/01/2025 20:04

Meant to be 9pm in Cheshire

USaYwHatNow · 04/01/2025 20:04

Um quite deep here in the SW

MargaretThursday · 04/01/2025 20:04

We're now on heavy sleet.😥

Sheknowsaboutme · 04/01/2025 20:05

Im in Snowdonia and just started. Only noticeable if you are outside and see it in the light. Looking through the windows cant see anything

TheFormidableMrsC · 04/01/2025 20:05

I'm in North Hertfordshire. My app says it's snowing now. It isn't. It says that heavy snow will be from 9 pm and then it will turn to rain so I'm not hopeful of a sledge day tomorrow. I wouldn't mind it for a couple of days and the last few days of the school hols. My app is normally very accurate so it's weird.

mitogoshigg · 04/01/2025 20:06

We have around 2mm, but being coastal it's very rare to get any

ExtraDisorganised · 04/01/2025 20:06

Settling in North Hampshire

backslashruby · 04/01/2025 20:07

Nothing yet in the Staffordshire Moorlands.

mondaytosunday · 04/01/2025 20:07

My app says it's snowing now (SW London) but it must be the invisable type.

Olika · 04/01/2025 20:08

Must be invisible one as forecast says it's snowing now ❄️

JessiesJ99 · 04/01/2025 20:09

More in Hampshire than I thought - and still coming down!!

So where’s all this snow we were warned about
Lobstercrisps · 04/01/2025 20:09

We've a couple of cm in Hampshire!

Unexpected, only rain/sleet was forecast.

MintTwirl · 04/01/2025 20:10

Nothing here in West Yorkshire yet but it’s due a bit later. Hoping for a fun morning in the snow and then it clears. Our road is a nightmare as it’s a steep hill with a school at the end, for some reason it never gets gritted and it’s so dangerous when people are attempting to drive the school run in ice while other children are sliding around in the pavements/crossing the road.

maudelovesharold · 04/01/2025 20:11

It’s been snowing lightly in my bit of Wiltshire for about an hour. The garden has a covering, but it’s turning to rain now, I think.

NotQuiteUsual · 04/01/2025 20:13

Nothing in Northumberland yet. Plenty of ice on the ground though. Weather apps are predicting rain rather than snow.

TheFormidableMrsC · 04/01/2025 20:13

They've made such a fuss about this this week that I wonder if they over compensate to be on the safe side. I recall seeing the weather one evening in 2003 (my mum had just died so it's stuck in my head), and rain was forecast. What actually happened was so much snow we couldn't leave our house for over a week. They didn't see that one coming! Oh well, we'll have to wait and see.

IvyOrangesCandles · 04/01/2025 20:16

Outside London sleet and rain

hulahoopbbq · 04/01/2025 20:17

Snowing in Shropshire

NotThisOldChestnutAgain · 04/01/2025 20:19

In amber area in south Wales but only had a bit of sleet earlier, now it's just rain, it's forecast 13 degrees tomorrow.

MargaretThursday · 04/01/2025 20:20

Snowing now heavily. It's settling on pavements and grass, but not on the roads which are really wet.

Marisislikethesunwithoutthewarmth · 04/01/2025 20:22

It started here in South Birmingham about 15 minutes ago but very light flurries so far
