For me it's household bin liners, life is too short to faff around with splitting and leaking rubbish for the sake of saving 10p

Lurpak
Live music - I love going to see expensive bands in expensive locations.

You need to read up on Lurpak!

This.

I cannot get into that “heat the person, not the room” thing. It sounds bloody miserable.

It is utterly miserable because your hands and face are still cold and your skin gets clammy from not being able to breathe under all the layers.

Please recommend some anti-frizz hair care products!

For everyday use it's Aussie deep moisture shampoo and conditioner (I find it works better than their curly range), although I condition every day and only shampoo every 2 weeks or so - I go through a large bottle of conditioner in roughly a week. Their curly cream is amazing for everyday use, too, and their deep moisture leave-in conditioner is an everyday must. Every few months I use extra virgin olive oil as a hair mask. I have a wide-toothed, expensive brush, but it's so old I can't remember where I got it from.

I also splash out on the Paul Mitchell super skinny hair serum for special occasions, and have a ghd hair dryer, which seems to make a difference.

Dishwasher tablets, I buy Fairy platinum plus from Amazon on the Prime and BF days as the price is extortionate in the supermarkets.

Stillherestillpraying · 18/12/2024 06:04

Toilet paper
Trainers
Shampoo

isthismylifenow · 18/12/2024 06:22

Toilet roll
We get the 1ply nonsense here and it's what is in public loos. Awful stuff.

I'll buy preloved clothing made of natural fibers over anything polyester.

Leather shoes and leather bags.

I'm pretty open to trying no name branded supermarket items, but unbranded tea is a no go.

CalicoPusscat · 18/12/2024 06:33

Shampoo, ground coffee, olive oil, bras, mascara, bb cream.

I'm sure there must be more but that's off the top of my head.

namechangeGOT · 18/12/2024 06:37

Butter
Olive Oil
Haircare
Tampons
Toilet Roll
Tea Bags

Cheese
Eggs

susiedaisy1912 · 18/12/2024 06:46

Oh and toilet roll

daffodilandtulip · 18/12/2024 06:47

Marmite. Tried the Aldi one once and it was possibly the worst mistake of my life.

SweetBobby · 18/12/2024 06:49

Butter. I would never ever switch to margarine.

I like it and I’m a marmite lover. Also like Vegemite.

SauvignonBlonk · 18/12/2024 07:36

Butter
Sausages
Decent coffee
Decent shoes - wellies, walking books, Birkenstocks
Decent waterproof coat

Currently perusing the internet for a new dog, more research is going into that than buying a house!

Check out your rescue centres. Our dog is an absolute dream. Looks like a designer dog but was £130 rescue. Her temperament is so calm and loving. Best present to ourselves and her .

I am. There’s so many conditions when getting a rescue dog that it’s incredibly difficult, hence extensive research!

I'll buy anything cheap, I'm not convinced that more expensive or branded equals quality. There are so many good dupes around and cheaper food mostly tastes the same. I feel that most goods have the same supplier for various brands/ stores.

I love my £30 real leather Chelsea boots from Asda, they have lasted me 7yrs and still look just as good. My lambskin slipper boots from Aldi lasted for 5yrs, u lived in them they were great.

I do buy branded tea bags, gravy granules, laundry capsules and washing up liquid. I tend to buy these in bulk from Costco so don't buy often, don't mind using own brand though, it's not a hard line.

EveryDayisFriday · 18/12/2024 08:20

Dishwasher tablets, I once bought Finish in bulk on an Amazon deal. What a mistake, every wash there was something still dirty. Lidl W5 tablets are the best I've ever used, always sparkling. DH goes mad when I buy something different because it was on offer. Lesson learned now.

LastNightMyPJsSavedMyLife · 18/12/2024 10:22

Heating and food

QuickDenimDeer · 18/12/2024 10:25

Shoes. Because you can’t exactly buy new feet. As a result I don’t own many pairs of shoes.

FeelingSad2024 · 18/12/2024 10:42

Shampoo- I have incredibly greasy hair and unfortunately cheapo brands just do not work for me
Coffee
Wine
Meat

Coats- both 'dressy' smart coats and waterproof/dog walking coats

fixingmylife · 18/12/2024 10:55

Bras.

TubeScreamer · 18/12/2024 17:10

Something you use a lot and get value out of.

For example :

TV. I watch a fair bit of TV so have a great TV.

Sofa. Because I spend a lot of time watching the TV I need a good sofa to watch it from.

Bed. Spend a lot of time in bed and bad beds can screw your back up. So have a good bed.

There are some things that even if you use not very much it is worth getting better quality. For example cutting tools. High quality cutting tools, drills, knives, shears etc make a job so much easier. The quality of the drill bit is far more important than the quality of the drill you use to spin it.

Hp sauce. Because it really is better than every alternative.
