For me it's household bin liners, life is too short to faff around with splitting and leaking rubbish for the sake of saving 10p

Toilet roll and mayonnaise has to be hellmans

Didn’t know Hellmans made toilet rolls!

PheasantPluckers · 17/12/2024 20:37

Foundation! Worth every penny to get the right colour and coverage!

80skid · 17/12/2024 20:38

Also insurance cover. When you need to claim on insurance, you NEED it and I think paying for a good level of cover and care is well worth it for that occasion that life has gone wrong and you need looking after.

Laura36TTC · 17/12/2024 20:39

Coffee, heating, chocolate

Oldandcobwebby · 17/12/2024 20:41

Combs - got to be Kent on my poor, sensitive scalp.

Socks - Pantherella are noticeably more comfortable.

Coffee beans

Ice Cream - I spend more to make my own with the best ingredients - so much nicer!

🤣🤣 yeah its the best 👌

Justleaveitblankthen · 17/12/2024 20:47

Tin foil
Proper coffee (espresso)
Filtered milk
Eggs
Tomatoes
Teabags
Herbal teabags
Tinned soups

On the other hand, I much prefer economy baked beans at 29p a can 😋

LaughingCat · 17/12/2024 20:53

First class train fare. I’ll go without lunch to pay for an upgrade. Life is too short to not get a (slightly larger) seat.

FutureFry · 17/12/2024 20:55

Coffee beans

Dishwasher tablets (cheaper ones just don't work for me)

Non UPF foods in general. Ironic how you pay tonnes more for a product made of less ingredients.

Trainers. I went for a New Look option (instead of my usual high end brand) and I just can't get used to them. So stiff and uncomfortable.

Hair conditioner. I'd happily try a cheap one, but haven't found one that works for my frizzy mane.

Notacottish · 17/12/2024 21:00

Bras

RedPanda2022 · 17/12/2024 21:01

Goodness this makes me seem so demanding as it is hard to come up with just one or two!

Consumables…
Diet Coke (ie not own brand cola)
Quality cheese
Loads of fresh salad and veg

Generally…
I would hate to not be able to see - so specs - or be in dental pain constantly.

BuddhaAtSea · 17/12/2024 21:04

Gosh, nothing, really, I’ll go without or wait till I’ve saved enough. But if I could only choose one thing only, it’ll have to be coffee. Don’t mess with my coffee. I’m really not nice without caffeine.

24HoursFromTulseHill · 17/12/2024 21:05

Eggs, Honey & Milk. I can't always afford to buy the best welfare standard meat but I always buy the most expensive animal by-products because I know the difference it has on animal husbandry.

YourWinter · 17/12/2024 21:06

Fairy liquid
Organic milk, eggs, cheese, porridge/muesli
Kerrygold
Wild Alaskan salmon
Naked nitrite-free bacon
Dog food (branded raw)
Honey from hives in the next village

I like M&S instant coffee, Aldi Rejuvelate face cream and Almat laundry powder, Tesco SpringForce loo roll (suits the septic tank), and my cats will only eat Sheba pouches.

StarryPotter · 17/12/2024 21:18

Coffee, washing powder, toilet roll, kids moisturiser, kids shoes, any footwear actually,
some fruits, meat & pillows.

XenoBitch · 17/12/2024 21:21

Kitchen roll. I only get the Regina Blitz stuff.

Anonimouse12345 · 17/12/2024 21:22

ginasevern · 17/12/2024 18:35

Heating. I hate, hate, hate being cold and I refuse to dress like the Michelin Man in the comfort of my own home. Obviously if the time ever comes when it's a toss between heating and eating, then I'll have to think again but until then the heating goes on when I want it to.

Same here!

I can’t stand a cold house. I would rather be skint than freezing in my own home.

This.

I cannot get into that “heat the person, not the room” thing. It sounds bloody miserable.

GameOfJones · 17/12/2024 21:26

Eggs. I will only buy the organic, golden yolk ones. The quality is so much better.

Mattress and bedding. I spend a significant amount of time in bed so I may as well be really comfortable! Although funnily enough I prefer my cheap IKEA pillow.

Shoes and bras. If I see cheap shoes that I love (which is rare) I'll buy a size up and get a really good quality pair of insoles for them. For bras I'm loyal to Molke.

Bread is either sourdough or homemade. No UPF loaves full of rubbish.

I'm happy to scrimp on pretty much everything else.

ElderLemon · 17/12/2024 21:28

Bread. I buy really good bread at the farmers market, and though it's expensive it's so so good.

Hotflushesandchilblains · 17/12/2024 21:31

Bras. As a more endowed person, I have to buy good ones. Expensive, but totally worth it.

Gingerwarthog · 17/12/2024 21:37

Teeth
Feet
