It’s wet and windy outside. What’s for dinner?

As above. What are you having tonight?

I’ve just started cobbling together a leek and chicken pie using an assortment of freezer odds and ends.

I’m making a gorgeous haddock, leek & parmesan risotto - a family favourite, worth the tedious stirring! 🤣

frozendaisy · 07/12/2024 14:39

Wet and windy, we are walking to a turkish restaurant @

OnTheBounce · 07/12/2024 14:45

Steak, cavolo Nero, and dauphinoise potatoes.

LazyD0g · 07/12/2024 14:49

Paneer curry and naan

moggerhanger · 07/12/2024 14:51

GOAT curry, as requested by DS. No actual goats involved; it's a kind of korma-ish chicken curry with almond butter in it. DS says it's his absolute favourite, hence the name.

PickAChew · 07/12/2024 14:52

DH and I had dinner (some pasta with tuna and a jarred sauce) for lunch. He's supposed to be at a Christmas meal, tonight but I'll be surprised if it goes ahead because it's rough.

The boys will get sausages for dinner. Probably as sandwiches the way the local power cuts are going.

NoWordForFluffy · 07/12/2024 14:54

We're having a roast, I think. And roasting gammon and chicken with it to make into a pie tomorrow.

I'm trying to empty the freezer to fill it with Christmas stuff, so we're eating all of the big items from it!

AnyoneSomeone · 07/12/2024 14:55

Pizza, garlic bread and potato wedges and whatever else is lurking in the freezer.

ProssecoSparkle · 07/12/2024 14:57

Cheese burgers and wedges for us tonight. I make them like a burger king whopper with cheese.

Jellycoconut · 07/12/2024 14:58

Greek meatballs in tomato sauce with feta on top, couscous and side salad plus olives

AllTangledUpInTinselAndTiaras · 07/12/2024 15:01

Braised lamb shanks with port and rosemary sauce. Along with mash and roasted parsnips.

Nearlyadoctor · 07/12/2024 15:01

Lasagne , everyone’s favourite but I detest making it. I always therefore make 2 so one for tonight and one for the freezer. I’m now sat down with a glass of the red wine I used reading my book.

ElleDeeCB · 07/12/2024 15:02

Veggie shepherds pie with cheesy mash

TheMousePipes · 07/12/2024 15:03

Pork and cider casserole with baked cheesy mash and caraway cabbage.

OnlyYellowRoses · 07/12/2024 15:06

Big, fat, quarter pounders. Done as 'Dirty Burgers' with bacon, cheese and fried onions. Will pop some sliced tomatoes in them for vitamins 😬 It's cold and crap outside so I want comfort junk food.

WickWood · 07/12/2024 15:06

A big Greek salad, the chicken has been marinating since this morning, peppers, cucumber, lettuce, onions, olives and feta with a lovely creamy sauce and loads of herbs, salt and pepper.

Everyone's sounds so lovely!

Taytocrisps · 07/12/2024 15:07

I'm thinking takeaway. The power's been gone since last night and I'm not sure if it will be back. Also, I was away last night and I won't have time to shop and cook.

Xtraincome · 07/12/2024 15:07

Our meal feels quite dull by comparison but we are having sausage, mash and beans for dinner followed by Angel Cake.

Pork and cider casserole with baked cheesy mash and caraway cabbage.

Would you be able to share the recipe please?

HPandthelastwish · 07/12/2024 15:11

I'm on the East coast and it's not actually windy but definitely wet.

DD is making Mac and Cheese but with gnocchi with bacon lardons. And then baking brownies for dessert

mamaduckbone · 07/12/2024 15:12

Bosh bean chilli with nachos. 😋

That sounds lush

ThianWinter · 07/12/2024 15:13

Chicken and chorizo pasta, with salad.

Hiphopopotamonster · 07/12/2024 15:14

Chinese tonight! Can’t wait. It’s a rare treat these days (both for the insane amount it costs and the family health kick we’re all on)
