As above. What are you having tonight?

I’ve just started cobbling together a leek and chicken pie using an assortment of freezer odds and ends.

ExhaustedHousewife · 07/12/2024 15:15

Comfort food needed so definitely some sort of pasta, be it creamy or meaty or both.

Johndoeskellington · 07/12/2024 15:16

A chocolate bar and a packet of crisps

thankyouforthedayz · 07/12/2024 15:16

Emptying freezer - roast lamb which I'll cook with onions, cumin, sumac, garlic to stuff in flatbreads; feta smushed with Greek yogurt, mint and and cucumber; I'm soaking chickpeas to make batches of hummus; green salad.

Apple custard (Protestant!) traybake after.

Pork and cider casserole with baked cheesy mash and caraway cabbage.

This sounds absolutely sensational. Do you have a recipe for it?

Chilli and rice, nachos covered in melted cheese, chopped peppers and a dollop of sour cream.
Pint of lager shandy.

Homemade beef meatballs in gravy with mashed potato and a pile of green beans and brocolli.

Stillwearingskinnies · 07/12/2024 15:24

Bacon, leek and potato gratin with garlic bread.

ShaunaSadeki · 07/12/2024 15:26

I’ve made some soup out of odds and ends in the fridge and then not sure what else as we have been away and the cupboards are a bit bare.

I’ve got a load of frozen party food like snowmen bao buns and spring rolls in the freezer so might just give DD that with some tofu and edamame to feel less lazy about it.

A massive cheese board and a bottle of red!! (Inspired by a post on here the other day from a new mama who’s planning on eating cheese all Xmas!!)
I’ve got about 8 different cheeses, some nice little bits of meat, cheese stuffed peppers, various crackers, some grapes and my favourite chilli chutney!! Oh and a bottle of Jammy Red Roo!!!! Heating on, nice pjs, fresh bedding for after! One chilled mama tonight!

I’m making a gorgeous haddock, leek & parmesan risotto - a family favourite, worth the tedious stirring! 🤣

What time should I arrive lol.

It sounds delicious!

TheTecknician · 07/12/2024 15:29

Home-made pizza tonight. I'll top it with garlic sausage and pepperoni. New sauce recipe making its debut. Half a bottle of Carmenere to finish with it but a glass or four of rose Cava first.

tackychristmas · 07/12/2024 15:30

We’re having sweet potato and peanut curry

feellikeanalien · 07/12/2024 15:33

Smoked haddock & leek risotto

Smoked haddock & leek risotto

There's no tedious stirring with this one - just stick it in the oven until creamy and delicious

blackheartsgirl · 07/12/2024 15:41

colmans chicken chasseur with loads of fridge veg

fussy teens won’t eat it, so that’s for me. No idea what they will have but I’ll probably do some roast potatoes and some stuffing and veg and gravy for them.

im not adventurous with food these days as there’s no point.

havent been out the house all day and its been lovely. Everything has been cancelled, there are trees down everywhere, floods and villages are cut off so day in the house it is

edited to say that it goes without saying that I hope people are safe

BCBird · 07/12/2024 15:44

Fillet Steak and truffled Parmesan skin on fries

OctopusSexArm · 07/12/2024 15:50

Classic spag bol that I made a massive vat of last week. We've got a 10 week old and all of our other three are at ours this weekend and are hungry pre teens, so I batch cook huge stews and things so we don't have to cook every single night.

This particular one is made "extra" with bacon and chilli, loads of grated cheese and spaghetti.

Making brownies with the kids for afters to watch with the Muppets Christmas Carol!

Wegovypictures · 07/12/2024 15:58

Spaghetti and meatballs 🥰 I braved a walk to the shops in the rain and wind earlier to get them!

Couldn't bring myself to expect someone else to deliver me food on a bike if I wasn't willing to go get it on foot!
