Haven’t read this article but I saw similar on social media.

I don’t think it’s funny actually. It just reminded me of hearing Richard Osman talk about how constant comments about his height have affected him throughout his life.

I agree. He will get enough abuse by people who don't like his dad's music or tax avoidance, he should never have any given his height.

It's not really teasing him about his height. It's joking about the height difference

He's only 6'2" so he's hardly going to be getting some weird complex about his height

He's 6' 2 so not exactly unusual. I really dislike teasing about height. People seem to think its acceptable in a way that commenting on weight isnt. As a tall girl i was desperately embarrassed when a teacher called me a 'big girl' in assembly and it stuck with me 20 years later.

He isn’t even tall his dads just unusually short which is why the picture is funny.

People shocked at comments on how tall he is need a grip, he’s an adult he can cope with being told he looks tall. He’s hardly 7ft for fucks sake lighten up.

I’m 5ft and have dealt with a lifetime of comments about being small - people need real problems if they get worked up about that.

My partner is 6’4 and has been called a giraffe many times, but we can both laugh which a lot of people have lost the ability to do it seems.

It was just a funny photo where the average height Gary looks dwarfed by a slightly taller than average son.

I'm the same height as Gary. One of my sons is 27cm taller than me so every photo of the two of us looks like that. We found all the massive son memes amusing.

I saw it as people ribbing Gary Barlow about being short, maybe because I am too. I haven't seen anything rude, just bad puns and mildly amusing pictures. People have said and done similar to me over the years. It really isn't something to take offence at.

Is the photo taken from a strange angle, he not only looks tall but he looks massive, like the rest of the family have all taken a step back and the perspective in the photo is off.

I agree its not funny to comment on his height, but that looks like more than a 6inch difference

I don't like this. It's not about him being tall, it's about him being 'massive' and his size generally. He's not overweight but this kind of wording could make a young person self conscious. If it's about his dad looking small comparatively, it should be aimed at his dad who's chosen to be in the public eye, not him.

If it was just about his height I think that would be fair enough but it isn't, it's words like 'massive'.

He might not care at all. Not putting words in his mouth. But some young people would.

They're both perfectly average sized men, just at either end of the scale.

I’m sure he finds the whole nation commenting on his height hilarious 🙄as a taller than average woman I’ve had “harmless” “inoffensive” and “funny” comments about my height honestly daily from strangers and it really gets me down. They are never any of the above. He will have heard it all a million times before and we should know better than to comment about a young persons looks, especially as he can’t do anything about it. Would we make memes out of his daughter if she was overweight? Of course we wouldn’t.

I think it’s harsh. The photo was first used in an article re celeb’s kids who have shunned fame and got normal jobs. Now everyone is making memes and jokes about the height difference between him and his dad…..not sure that’s fair on the boy.

He’s a 6 foot 2 Ironman completing medical student who has obviously been raised well, I’m sure he isn’t going to become a puddle of jelly over people on the internet joking about him being taller than his famous dad.

He probably hasn't had constant comments at 6'2" though, he isn't abnormally tall at all.
