I don't like this. It's not about him being tall, it's about him being 'massive' and his size generally. He's not overweight but this kind of wording could make a young person self conscious. If it's about his dad looking small comparatively, it should be aimed at his dad who's chosen to be in the public eye, not him.
If it was just about his height I think that would be fair enough but it isn't, it's words like 'massive'.
He might not care at all. Not putting words in his mouth. But some young people would.
