I’m scared now I’ve realised this

I was thinking that the US public wouldn’t vote for Trump now that it is so apparent he is such a fascist. It’s terrifying to realise that they already know that and that is why they are going to vote for him.
I’m scared for the world.

Omg did you see the rally in NY 😲😲😲😳😳😳 mother of god, I knew there was many racist, bigot etc comments made over the years and a lot seemed unhinged but dear god !!! That comedian 😳😳 who wasn't funny was just vile !! Who knew Dr Pill was part of the nasty shit too. It just seems to be gathering speed and everyone is just spouting out the most hate filled crap. I sincerely hope that the Puerto Ricans don't vote for him.

It's actually terrifying listening to so much hate and seeing that there are truly awful people out there. I'd actually feel physically sick voting for him I really can't understand why people would want this disgusting man in power.

MrsPeregrine · 29/10/2024 18:23

It could go either way. I’m shocked at how close it is to be honest. I think you have to accept there’s nothing you can do about it OP and wait and see.

Linzi2377 · 29/10/2024 18:27

Trumps winning this..democrats might have done better if they had got to vote for their own candidate

Choosenandenough · 29/10/2024 18:27

Nanny0gg · 29/10/2024 18:21

Depends who he picks as his Chief of Staff

True.

KizzyDora · 29/10/2024 15:57

Surely people are voting for the party they feel has the best polices and not actually just for Trump?

There is no Republican Party anymore. It’s just a cult of personality! It’s terrifying.

fatinfrance · 29/10/2024 18:46

It's not going either way. It's only going one way. And that way is going to be devastating for a lot of people. My real concern is that once in power, without the check and balances of his previous presidency, Trump will set about making legal changes to make the U.S. more of a dictatorship and removing the possibility of the democrats ever winning again. He already made moves to this end last time, and had said he will do more this time. I believe him.

Deja321 · 29/10/2024 18:47

Why are you worried? He was president before and it was fine. Despite all the media scaremongering, he didn't start ww3, infact he's the only president who didn't start any new wars.

Tristar15 · 29/10/2024 18:48

Victoriancat · 29/10/2024 16:24

As much as I don't like a lot of his views, as someone married to an American - our financial situation was great when Trump was in

Oh well as long as you’re okay don’t worry about the millions of women who won’t be. Unbelievable 🙄

Oodiks · 29/10/2024 18:48

NotAGirl · 29/10/2024 17:13

The democrats have helped create this situation. They should have been developing suitable candidates to stand against Trump. And their obsession with shoehorning drag queens into many of their political events and their support of trans people in senior positions that they don’t appear the most qualified for is handing Trump an area where he looks like the sane person to majority of voters.

Harris and Walz had a six year old drag Queen perform at a rally ffs https://www.reddit.com/r/KamalaCringe/s/wrtEYOGxab

As much as I'm concerned about the Dems stance on trans/LGBTAlphabet issues, it seems that the Republicans only know what a woman is so they can control her body, and I am concerned about the future of the entire world if Trump wins.

Trump would be an absolute disaster for the environment and world politics. Terrifying.

He is more deranged than before and the world is in a more precarious situation generally with the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East.

Silly question but hasn’t trump been proven to have broken the law? And how is it then legal for him to be president again?

He doesn’t have the power to turn the US into a dictatorship. It would never happen.

Women dying because they can't get healthcare is fine?

Fleximama · 29/10/2024 18:51

sofialiliy11 · 29/10/2024 16:22

I just looked it up.

It's not really similiar though is it.

The different states in the USA have different amounts of votes.

For example California has around 50 votes, whereas another state will have only 5 votes.

Edited

It's pro-rata to do with population I think?
Whereas our constituencies are bigger or smaller geographically, so they all represent a similar number of voters.

Once again, Trump has never said he would infringe on women’s reproductive rights. He said he would let the states decide themselves. Why is this misinformation so prevalent? And now people on here saying they wished the assassination attempt didn’t fail. Horrible

Allthehorsesintheworld · 29/10/2024 17:12

Thanks @Mumtobabyhavoc you've explained a lot.
With Trump and Musk together the world will be in a very precarious position.

And that is just one part.
There are legitimate criticisms of the Dem policies and how they've worked - or not. That pales, imo, to the deeply entrenched anti-Dems. Nothing will sway them.
You can't point out "live and let live" as a Rep value, or that God is the final judge because that core is trying to make laws/making laws based on their view of biblical principles. They are/are trying to curtail rights based on their religious views.

I don’t understand these types of comments - not particularly aiming this at you, but I see this on lots of threads on this topic. Someone says something negative about Harris and someone always pipes up ‘but Trump is worse’. Yes we all know that, but Trump being awful doesn’t make Harris the good guy. Two things can be true at once.

Eh?

It's literally an election between two nominees. If you dislike Trump more than Harris, you're going to choose Harris Confused. Nobody is pretending this is an election between one or more "good guys".

Oodiks · 29/10/2024 18:54

Choosenandenough · 29/10/2024 17:54

I’m scared for anyone who thinks that Donald Trump would actually be running America. I cannot wrap my head around the fact that people still think the presidential face of any party means anythng.

It's entirely obvious that we judge countries by their current leaders and America under Trump was a laughingstock!

Tristar15 · 29/10/2024 18:48

What do you think Trump is going to do to millions of women?
Are you not concerned about women's rights under democrat control?

Onlyonekenobe · 29/10/2024 18:55

HonoraBridge · 29/10/2024 18:54

Yes! 🎯

Not starting a war is an INCREDIBLY low bar for a country that acts like it's the world's policeman and greatest superpower 🙄

Biden didn't start any wars. He actually ended one. Are you attributing other countries at war with each other as started by the US president? On the other hand Trump nearly incited a civil war inside the US. He definitely incited an attempted insurrection.

Devolving matters of life and death to states is not what the leader of a federal country should be doing. It's meant to be the UNITED states of america: no president has done more to disunite the country. By your own logic, he's an abject failure on this alone. And you're defending more of him.

Oodiks · 29/10/2024 18:57

CustardCreams2 · 29/10/2024 17:57

Harris is very clearly not intelligent. Nor charismatic or talented. Don’t make me laugh😂😂😂

She's risen to Vice-President of the USofA, how do you figure she's not intelligent or charismatic?

Is this a thinly veiled, (DEI hire) racist comment?
